In an impressive setting, we were amazed by the very particular flavors of this Peruvian cuisine based on properly acidic cevice, corn and other spicy condiments! The dishes were good, we tried a cocktail also based on egg white, not cheap but very original!
Be the first to ReplyFavorite Restaurant in a Week's Visit to NYC
Pio Pio was the favorite dining spot in a week in Manhattan. Everything about the place was first rate. It’s a lively place, from the interesting, colorful dishes to the gaiety at the tables. (While we were there, there were a half-dozen birthdays being celebrated.) A note about the portions: they’re huge. We’re used to sharing an appetizer before each having a main course. Although our appetizer (calamari) was excellent, the addition of the appetizer meant that most couldn’t finish their main courses. Not being able to finish the main courses was a pity because they were intriguing and delicious—combinations of flavors we hadn’t experienced before. (We’d describe the food as half way between Spanish and Mexican.) And the service was terrific. Our server, Israel, was charming, attentive, and helpful.

Excellent Peruvian cuisine. The setting is very nice. We came across it because it is very close to our hotel. The staff is very pleasant, the dishes are very generous, the quality of the products is perfect! I recommend 100%
Be the first to ReplyLarge portions!
Came here for the first time never having Peruvian food. The ambiance and decor is great. We got the Perucho tasting appetizer. Tried beef heart for the first time and everything was great. The size of the entree and sides were huge. I had leftovers for three days with the arroz Chaufa. We got the mama Juanita’s chicken with maduros, avocado salad, tostones and the aji’ de Gallina. Everything was great. The tostones were our least favorite. They were good but a little bland for me. For dessert we got the chocolate cake. It was okay. Overall nice atmosphere, large portions, good food but tiny everything was great and our waiter wasn’t the friendliest.

This food is delicious. The server helped us pick ceviche appetisers and they were fantastic. We had the large paella and split it and it was delicious. I recommend trying one of the pisco cocktails. Very good. The decore is stylish. The restaurant is big and a bit loud but we had no trouble hearing each other. We will return.

Great friendly service, excellent food and good value. We had special recipe chicken rice and beans, big portion size would highly recommend.

I visited this restaurant on a trip to NYC about 10 years ago and it left a lasting impression…enough that I had to find it and go again (even with so many other possible options!) and it did not disappoint! The food is absolutely amazing! The stuffed pepper is the best appy! There were 4 of us and each of us enjoyed our dinner immensely. The portions are huge so be sure to go hungry. Our server and other staff were awesome and very friendly. I know NYC has thousands of options, but this is a MUST add to your list of restaurants to go to while in the city.

We bought the ceviche and lomo saltado and they were both delicious! I also had a Passion fruit Sour which was great. Our serve was called Cesar and he was excelent!
Be the first to ReplyGood Peruvian food. Nothing special. Typically city restaurant setting.
Good food. Quality ingredients seemed to be used (I’m a foodie). We had ceviche, Peruvian spiced chicken, yucca and plantains. Prices reasonable. Service good. Decor and venue were just OK.
Be the first to ReplyA Hell's Kitchen Gem
Nice atmosphere here in the Hell's Kitchen area of NYC, with upstairs and downstairs dining areas, and so convenient to Broadway. We stopped in for lunch after Phantom of the Opera. Four of us shared some appetizers and the lunch special for only $14.98 which was a 1/4 chicken, salad and your choice of sides. There's more than you think there is when it arrives. The chicken was moist, and cooked to perfection. The salad was a simple salad, but good, and our shared appetizers were also delicious. Nothing to complain about here. The menu has much to choose from if you want something other than the lunch special
Be the first to ReplyFab Bestie Birthday Dinner at Pio Pio 8!
Went to Pio Pio 8 to celebrate my best friend's 40th Birthday. We had a large group and the staff were extremely accommodating as our party grew - bringing in extra tables and chairs with no issue at all - and kept checking in on us to ensure drinks were full and our food orders were correct. The location is stunning and the decor is amazing. Will definitely return next time I am in NYC.

So so good. Quaint little spot in HK, nice waitstaff and the food was amazing! The calamari was a bit rubbery but still good, calamari is like that sometimes anywhere you go.

Food was delicious and service was great! Would love to go again! Had a lot of good authentic Peruvian food that was good portions too (even homemade hot sauce)!

I love Peruvian good and this restaurant did NOT disappoint! I’ll come back again and again!! I had the Camarones with Amarillo sauce and my date had Lomi Saltado. Both were fantastic!
Be the first to ReplyEasy to walk past. Inside is delightful.
This looks like a store front from the outside but when you go in, there is a beautifully decorated downstairs level. We have been here several times for lunch and it is delicious and reasonable.

We love Peruvian food and this did not disappoint! We got the Matador to share & just made a dent. It was enough for four people.
Be the first to ReplyToo loud
The food might be good, but it is very loud. We couldn’t hardly talk about the menue. So we decided to leave without eating.
Be the first to ReplyPeruvian gem
When I viewed on line I was underwhelmed. This place far exceeded my expectations. Friendly staff, excellent food, generous portions. The chicken empanadas were as good as I’ve had anywhere. The hot dogs and fries was a big hit but the shrimp Cuzco was killer.

We had a weekday lunch there before seeing a play. Nice decor and bar. The Paella was awesome. Service friendly but a bit understaffed , like everyone else.
