Looking for a fine dining place near a cigar friendly place
Looking for a fine dining place near a cigar friendly place for afterward. Friday in Lent, so steakhouses were out. I'm in charge of finding a place. I have no experience with Michelin stars. For everyone in the group the food was great, tasty, and presented in interesting ways. The waitstaff is standing off to the side paying attention to what is going on at the tables. You turn your head in their direction and they respond. Such a pleasant experience. Cigar note - down the hall of the Jefferson Hotel is Quill, which allows cigar smoking out side. One can bring cigars or cigars are available for purchase. It was February, cold, and they rolled over extra heaters. Plume and Quill are definitely on the DC list for future trips. Do you ever look at your watch and say, "Been here for 4 hours? what a wonderful evening, where did the evening go?" The garage at 1615 M St is adjacent an open until midnight.

Went here for a friends birthday dinner and had mixed feelings:Pros-Good bread and butter selection-Waiters were friendly-Nice ambiance/location/restaurant -Dishes were well prepared and it was fun to watch the preparation process Cons-For what you get, the price is high. (Portion sizes)-When I found bones left in my salmon, I was disappointed that they didn't offer to comp even the dessert. For a place this classy and expensive, you'd think they would make sure to remove all the bones and clean the fish or offer some sort of corrective action for it. -At the end of the night, they only offered chocolate boxes to the females, which I thought was odd. They should offer this to everyone

Food was below average for any restaurant let alone one with a Michelin star. Did the tasting menu and was waiting for one dish that was actually good. Needless to say the worst Michelin rated restaurant I have ever been to. Not up to the standard

We were visiting from out of state and anticipated a wonderful experience. The service was dismal-they kept taking our plates away without asking if we were finished. Then they acted annoyed when we asked them to leave our plates! Food was ok-nothing special

Great food. Great ambience. We have not been disappointed here! From the moment you arrive until you leave, you feel like their special guest. No detail is forgotten. They don't rush you through the meal and the wait staff is always visible and attentive without disturbing your meal. We will always come back. Always!

Exotic Bomb is the richest and sweetest and one of the best deserts I've had in a long time. Must try
Be the first to ReplyI was here for my 40th Birthday and I left disappointed.
The food was nothing to desire. The ambiance and the service were pretty regular. This restaurants is expensive and really not worth the $300 price tag. We didn't even order a bottle on wine. Is sad when you pay so much money to have such an undesirable experience.

Located in the Jefferson Hotel, this place is classic high society restaurant. I loved the bread that came with it and all the fancy butters. My salmon had the most interestingly prepared, where they bring a box with the fish and pout the sauce on, which is then congealed and boasted. My wife had the better choice of the lobster, which was surprisingly large portioned for high end eatery's like this. The desserts were exactly what you expect at a place like this, tasty and reasonably sized.

Attentive service and romantic vibe. Food was okay. Honestly

The food, ambiance, restaurant and staff were wonderful! While in DC, my husband and I ate at various restaurants and without a doubt, this was our favorite! The wine list is spectacular. The food was cooked to perfection. The restaurant is really quiet and quaint, but with beautiful decor. They sat us in this secluded garden room with sky light that was perfect. Again, it was wonderful. If you have the opportunity to go, I highly recommend it. This restaurant is well deserving of its Michelin Star.
