Port Sa’id New York Reviews from The Last Year
It was literally flimsy dips vegetables with sour cream.
How can u try to be Mediterranean without giving pita...
This place is an absolute PARTY when it gets late.
Port Sa'id is an Israeli restaurant from Eyal Shani and if you've been to his restaurants, you sort of know what you're getting into. The menu is written humorously with jokes and quips but the food is fairly standard and simple. Expect lots of parsley and lemon. The favorite thing I ordered was probably the lubina chrome (served with a burning herb). What surprised us was when the servers started wheeling and dealing free shots for the various diners. The restaurant features a DJ spinning tunes and at one point, some diners elected to start dancing on their chairs. It's a fun spot. While I wouldn't recommend this spot if you're looking for some calm, I think this is a great choice before a night out.

This was the first time I tried Israeli cuisine and I absolutely loved it!! My friend and I just walked in on a Saturday evening for early dinner and we got lucky to get in without reservations. This place offers small plates and has a lot of options to select from. We ordered 4 Spicy instruments (our fav. Dish!), charred beetroot carpaccio, hummus, and Avocado Bruschetta. Everything was so so good, I am still dreaming about it. My least favorite dish was the beetroot one only because the beetroot's sweetness was very overpowering. The Spicy Instruments was really spicy, but we just couldn't stop eating it. The hummus was very fresh. We noticed that Israeli cuisine does not have a lot of pita breads but rather they serve most dishes with sourdough bread (which was again very fresh!) We also ordered an espresso and Mint Tea along with our meal and it was just perfect. Port Sa'id is a place where the flavors of the Mediterranean live in harmony with rich sounds from around the world. Do not miss out their huge vinyl record collection. They have amazing DJs play almost every evening and they even update their menu to share the details of the DJ who will be playing that particular night. I think that's an amazing touch and I haven't seen a lot of places do that. I will recommend Port Sa'id 100% for their hospitality, food, good vibes, and good music!
We grabbed an early reso prior to a performance downtown.
By the time we left, the place was abuzz with great music, a cool vibe, and great service. We started off with a couple of cocktails which were unique and quite refreshing. Our server, Romi, gave us suggestions and they were spot on. The hummus was some of the best we've ever had. Creamy with warm whole chickpeas on top along with some spice which all melted in our mouths. Great consistency with some fresh challah to clean the plate. The burning potato was a nice combo of smashed spuds along with creme fraiche and shaved horseradish. Really rich and smooth! The Spanish Mackerel was sitting in a sauce of tomato seeds and spices. The remaining challah was a nice sponge to soak up every bit of it. We topped off the meal with their cheesecake...nothing ordinary at all. It was creamy, buttery and unique in it's own way. Stellar experience!
If you've been to hasalon you'd love it here.
A more chill vibe but same great food and better prices. Came here for jazz brunch with a friend. We had the best time ever!! Really delicious options although not the classic brunch you're expecting. Think more along the lines of dips and spreads with sides of veg and meat dishes. We got the hummus which was out of this world. So clean and fresh tasting and so so creamy. Doesn't leave you feeling heavy. Definitely the best hummus I've had outside of Israel. The 4 spicy dips (i think it's called) were also delicious but honestly not spicy coming from a Sephardi so if you do want spice I'd skip it. The challah it comes with though and the addition of yogurt makes it the perfect dip. Also definitely must do the beets it was my favorite part of the meal besides the hummus. Beautiful beautiful presentation and perfectly seasoned. Honestly everything was just a tiny bit of salt here and olive oil there and it was just magical what you can do with quality ingredients. We also tried the avocado bruschetta which was also really good because the bread itself is insane but next time I'd skip because it's just really on piece. Sweet potatoes also are a must. Can't go wrong with anything here really. Drinks are good, servers are awesome, food is delicious, and atmosphere is unique. Always a good time!! Definitely will be back and try dinner next time!

We were craving a visit for this place and we finally had a chance to give it a try on a Wednesday lunch time We walked in around 12 and the place was pretty empty - we ordered the hummus sa'id which was not great (a bit bland ) and the chicken liver which was exceptional . The lever dish arrived on a bed of green onion , potatos and tahini and was large and yummy - highly recommended Service was great and we can tell that the evenings in this place is probably a blast - they had a gigantic DJ stand ready to go! We will come back again to try more dishes !
Really good food and amazing atmosphere.
There was a live dj playing some great stuff, and the place was full of energy even though it was a random weekday night. Would definitely recommend making a reservation given how busy they seem to always be!

Trendy Israeli spot known for live DJ sets and massive speaker towers. Looked like it was impossible to snag a reservation. I walked in on a Friday night and it was already lively but they had plenty of bar seats provided I removed myself by 7pm. Menu items and their descriptions are eccentric, execution varies. Mackerel and basque cheesecake were excellent.
Nice vibey restaurant with a beautifully decorated interior
Nice vibey restaurant with a beautifully decorated interior in Tribeca. We were seated promptly for our reservation and the waitress was very nice. The major item we did not care for was how fast they served our dinner. The waitress took our order and immediately started bringing out dishes from the kitchen. We ordered a bread, two appetizers, and two entrees. Probably all came out within 10-15 minutes. No staging of the courses at all. On top of that, there were these hawking bus boys just consistently attempting to take plates away, even with food still on it. Ordered the following: 4 spicy instruments - excellent. You can mix breads to get sourdough or challah, but I really recommend the sourdough. The challah wasn't that great. Holland leeks - favorite thing we tried. Pretty small as it was just a single leek. Great flavor, texture Mackerel - salty on the skin side. Alone it would be a lot, but it balanced out the cold tomato sauce it was served with, which was pretty sweet Calamari - very good but nothing special. Definitely fresh Eggplant steak - did not care for this. Also was presented cold. Basically just a cold roasted eggplant with a hard boiled spiraled egg on the side. Sauce was strange. Would not recommend... unless maybe at brunch?? Overall decent but I think they need to work on pacing/service and balancing out menu items. Been to other locations within restaurant group which are better

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
