I've been to Proxi twice this year and have had a great experience both times. My introduction to Proxi was their restaurant week menu (a good deal!) in April. I'm a sucker for any type of menu that allows you to try multiple items, so I loved the variety on the restaurant week menu, even though, as a vegetarian, there were several items I couldn't eat. My favorite dish was a Salt & Pepper Tofu that didn't look like anything special -- but tasted amazing and had a perfect consistency. I also appreciated that the restaurant was able to bring out a vegetarian version of the dumplings for me once I notified them about my diet! The main, Spiced Lentil Dumplings, was a tad too salty for me, but overall I was impressed with the food I tried. Drinks were fantastic (nearly everyone at the table ordered two because we were all so impressed) and desserts were incredible. On my second visit, I continued to be impressed with Proxi. In April, our party of 5 sat in a curved booth, which felt very private and conducive to a conversation. On our return visit, with another party of 5, we were seated in the main dining area at a table that was just a little bit too large that, combined with the ambient noise, made it hard to have a conversation across the table. Again, we were impressed with drinks. As the tasting menu at the time did not seem very veggie friendly, we opted to order off the regular menu, and I ended up ordering two dishes for myself so the meat eaters could split everything else. Both of my dishes were good, though not the best food I've ever had. The Tater Tot Chaat was interesting and flavorful, and I was happy with the Wood Grilled Paneer Tikka. Two dishes was about the right amount of food for me, and I still had room for dessert. We ordered one of each of the desserts and enjoyed all of them; the Horchata Flan was my favorite.
