Walter our waiter was terrific, service was excellent, he was attentive and explained items on the menu. we chose the dumplings, scallion pancakes , duck spicy noodles and the bobo chicken which was sublime! run don't wait to get yourself down to Queens English for dinner! we will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu. a culinary delight for our taste buds! Came for my husband's birthday and we had an amazing experience! Walter was our host for the night and he was fantastic! We sat at the chef's counter which was really nice; cool to see the kitchen in action. I decided to get a white wine and my husband said, make it two. Walter actually brought both whites for us to try, which I think is so thoughtful! I stuck to what I ordered and my husband liked the other option so he got that. Both delicious! We started with the spicy jellyfish and cucumber, we thought it was light and refreshing, and such a unique texture. We then enjoyed the charred broccolini (one of my favorites) - topped with Chinese sausage is so different! The scallion pancake was solid. The cumin lamb belly was amazing! Flavorful and tender. The bobo chicken was really good! It's white meat but so juicy and tender, I've never had chicken like that before. Yum!! We were so full we asked to take our dessert to go. We needed to walk a little to digest. Once we got in the car, within minutes, we started eating the ice cream. So delicious and that espresso crumble on top is a nice touch. Fantastic meal, impeccable service! Will definitely be back and highly recommend you checking it out too.

It was great to be able to walk to Queen's English and explore a new restaurant - they really need to be checking the bathrooms and monitoring those regularly as it was gross when I went to wash hands. The food is very good, though very overpriced for what it is. Very well presented, and upscale - just need to ensure pricing matches the amount of food and what it is. We ordered the fish, and the server brought out some rice to eat it with- delicioso! The persimmon and lobster appetizer was very very good as well- would recommend that the restaurant increase the portion size by half for said pricing. Don't do Natty Hour- extremely overpriced, $20 more across the board on wines and spirits than what you can get on market, and advertised as a deal- don't do that to customers. It's not good. People are also tipping on top of it so it's just a bad look. When coming here, I would recommend keeping it strictly to dining- the drinks are overpriced and will rack up an unreasonable bill. Phenomenal ambience- themed, intimate, and a fun experience. The personnel are all so courteous and service driven. Because of pricing, we won't be returning, though food is very good.
It's actually a Chinese restaurant despite its name.
The food is generally pretty good although not amazing. The drunken noodles and steam toufu are amazing as was the hamachi crudel. I find the fried fish a bit over cooked and not that inspiring. Cocktails also were not especially great. Great neighborhood option but not worth traveling long distances for it

Small cute Hong Kong inspired place! Our servers were so sosoooo nice and fun!!! They were all very attentive and welcoming. So glad I got to finally try this place out. It did not disappoint. We even bought a merch item at the item: their tote bag! Some of my favorites dishes were Spicy Jellyfish + Cucumber, Mouthwatering Rock Shrimp, Truffle Dumpling, Cripsy Whole Brazino, and Bobo Chicken! All were so flavorful and delicious. Honorable mentions were Mushroom Mushroom and Octopus Pancake. The Daikon Fritters and Drunken Duck Noodle were a miss for me unfortunately. The White Rabbit ice cream was not bad! I do think they rotate ice cream flavors.
We chose QE based on a Sietsema review from 2019.
Five years later it seems all the dishes have changed and they no longer seem to measure up. Michelin star??, not in my book. There must be better choices on the menu but not what was recommended, except for two dishes: homemade silky tofu in broth, and cumin lamb belly. Both worth coming back for. But pigs ear and charred broccolini not. We were disappointed.
Wah wah wee wah, what a meal.
Queen's English is the real deal. We followed the recommendation of prior Yelp reviewers and started with the crispy pig ears. Divine swine indeed. We also ordered the truffle dumplings, which we inhaled before taking a picture. The corn sauce they came with was one of the best flavors of the evening. The scallion pancake and drunken duck noods were first class. The staff were kind and attentive, and the restaurant had a great vibe.
This spot is such a treat.
The menu is limited in terms of number, but everything is delicious and beautifully-plated. It was super fun to sit at the bar and watch how they prepare the food.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in DC.
This was my second time after coming for the first time two years ago - headline: it's as good as I remember and lives up to the hype. The first time I came was so special - they had a cold tongue and jellyfish dish that absolutely blew my mind away. This time around we started with the numbing beef and egg. The numbing is exaggerated as there's an essence of Szechuan peppercorn but it's not overpowering which I prefer. This was probably my favorite dish this time around as well as crispy pig ears (bc it's so delicious). The seafood congee made our mouths and lips dark with the most copious amount of squid ink I've ever had in a dish. It ate more like a loose risotto than congee - there was no rice. The restaurant is small and cozy with a four seat chefs counter and a small dining area. I was surprised to see they have to go service - if I lived here I would do take out too much! I also want to come back in a larger group to share more items. The natural wines here are special - they carry this amazing wine from the Texas highlands which carries the Queen's English wallpaper on their label.
A quirky, interesting & fun dining experience.
Unique dishes ( octopus pizza, for example) & tasty & enjoyable beverages. A quirky interior that makes you feel like you discovered a neighborhood haunt in NYC. Pleasant service. A bit noisy, but I guess that's part of the vibe. The only big negative is that there is no valet parking & no parking lots nearby, so you need to drive around until you score a spot on the street. Everyone was casually dressed & a number of folks appeared to be locals who walked to the restaurant. The crowd skewed on the night that we were there, early 30s & younger. That age is in my rear view mirror, but we still very much enjoyed our food & our time spent there.
