A little out of the way but pretty easy to get to from our Airbnb in another neighborhood by Metro (I am so jealous of Spains metros!).Service was super attentive and the menu was really inviting. We ordered a whole bunch of dishes (all to share!) in addition to several rounds of drinks to wash it all down+ Buñuelitos de Idiazabal (1/2 racione) // Cheese Fritters - Definitely get these. Super simple, flavorful, crowd pleaser!+ Verduras de verano salteadas // "Sauteed Summer Vegetables" - After 9 days in Spain with few vegetable dishes we saw this and decided to go for it... you know...for health... They were crispy blistered vegetables with a little sauce at the bottom. I'd probably skip this in lieu of a salad in the future.+ Lomo de bonito del norte marinado // Marinated Bonito with confit of cherry tomatoes - This was really delicious-- a little fishy (which if you know bonito that is to be expected) but the tomato confit seemed to really help round out the flavors. + Secreto de ibérico puro semi asado // Seared Rare Iberian Pork Tartare w/ herbed aioli - This might have been the highlight-- Spaniards ain't afraid to serve their aged pork rare AF and it was a delightful treat to have this way. Don't skip this! + Dry Rice w/ Rare Squab (unsure of the name it looks like it is no longer on the menu) - I loved this! It was sort of reminiscent of paella-- but NOT paella- the squab was delicious and flavorful. I'm not 100% sure but the rice seemed a touch undercooked but it's possible it was meant to be that way. + Flan con leche de oveja y huevos de corral // Sheeps Milk Flan - Simple but made so well. I've had some really bad flan in the states (usually made with gelatin, or the custard is broken) but this was my ideal flan. Worth getting if you're into flan like us!
