RIAD OMRI guest house & SPA Marrakesh Reviews from The Last Year
Delicious lamb tegine!
Stunning, boutique Riad, appeared to be run by two hard working local gents. Their lamb tagines were delicious. Unfortunately when we went to Marrakech the weather was unexpectedly very cold and though our bedroom was warm they found it difficult to keep us warm in the common areas.
Lovely Road with amazing staff
My partner, 10month old son and I had an amazing stay at Riad Omri. The staff were so sweet and couldn't do enough for us. It's very peaceful with only a handful of rooms, you almost feel like you have the whole place to yourself. Leaving the Riad, the walk to the main square takes about 25mins through lots of amazing streets and souks. As it's to the edge of the Medina to the north it's a short walk from a car park, which makes it easy with luggage and for getting taxis. What I would say is contact the Riad before you arrive if you would like dinner that evening. They have a lovely menu but require at least 24hr notice to prepare it. Staying in a Riad is not like staying in a resort where you have everything on demand 24/7, it's more like staying in someone's home. Please research before booking if a Riad or a Resort is what you are looking for. There is an app called 'Glovo' which delivers any last minute provisions you may need to the Riad also. If a Riad is what you are looking for I would highly recommend this one and we would definitely visit again.
Not recommended
They cancelled our stay that we booked over 1 year ago, just 2 weeks before the trip. Never experienced this before and am truly disappointed, what a disrespectful thing to do. We even were in contact after the earthquake if they were safe and fine.
Fabulous!!
This is an absolutely wonderful riad with very friendly, considerate and respectful staff who did absolutely everything they could to make our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. From the rose petals on the bed to the mint tea and biscuits upon arrival they really thought of everything. The spa is beautiful and we enjoyed full use of the jacuzzi. Delicious breakfast up on the roof terrace in the morning. They organised our airport transfers for us and brought our cases to/from the car. We couldn’t recommend this riad more highly!!
Beautiful Riad, but disappointing experience
The riad is absolutely beautiful. On arrival we were collected by staff and walked to the riad, it smelled gorgeous and we were served Moroccan tea before being given a tour of the riad. The staff are kind and helpful. On our third day, we decided to stay in at the riad for dinner. However, we placed our dinner order in the morning and it was not noted down correctly. Therefore, when it came to dinner time we were only served one meal. We waited 20 mins before going down and asking where the rest of the food was, we were advised it had not been made and were offered free refills of our drinks for our wait. This meant we had to wait almost an hour to eat and one of the meals had to be reheated. After our dinner the staff were keen to remedy the situation and advised us that our meal would be 50% off. However, my partners meal (which I assume was made in a rush due to the forgotten order) gave him food poisoning. He spent the entire night very sick and unwell. This meant he could not take part in any of the activities we had pre-paid for our final day together in Marrakesh, which was disappointing for us. I advised the staff that the food had made him very sick and they gave us the meal free of charge as a result. While we are obviously disappointed that the food was not prepared safely and made my partner extremely unwell, I will say that the staff were apologetic and offered to collect medication etc, provided us with extra toilet roll and water for my partner. Sadly our experience didn’t go as planned due to a kitchen food safety issue, so I would not recommend eating at the riad. If you are eating at the riad, I would advise to avoid the meat pizza, as this is what made my partner very sick. In terms of location, I think it’s worth mentioning that, as beautiful as it is, this riad is a 25 min walk from the centre of the medina. There are very few tourists this far north of the medina meaning that at night you are very much the centre of attention of the locals, which feels very uncomfortable. Additionally, there are scammers in the alleyways who will approach you shouting that the road is closed, and that you must follow them for an alternative route. Once they get you down an even quieter alleyway, they will demand money and get really aggressive if you don’t offer it over to them. This was really scary for us. The alleys are dark at night and when the sellers at the souks are gone, the scammers come out in full force. I wouldn’t recommend walking after dark or after the souks are closed. Having said that, since my partner was bed bound for our last day and a half at the riad, I asked the staff to walk me to the activities we had prebooked, as I did not feel comfortable walking alone. This was no problem for them and Mohammed kindly walked me to and from my excursion bus for both my excursions without my partner, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, it is a beautiful riad with kind and helpful staff. The rooms are spacious, clean and feel like an Arabian palace. However, please exercise caution with the food at the riad, and also with your journey to and from the riad. I wouldn’t recommend eating here, or choosing this riad if you are alone or travelling as a group of females.

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
