I decided to try this place since it's a Gib Gourmand and I've been struggling to find good food in Paris. Sadly being featured on Michelin guide doesn't appear to be a mark of quality. The fish of the day was a white fish and it was rather bland. It could've used some spices to liven it up. My friend got the onglet de bœuf Scottish and he said the same thing, that it was bland. We both agreed that we wouldn't come back here since the food just wasn't that great. We did have some full-bodied red wine from Bordeaux that was excellent. The bread was also really good. However, these two things don't make up for average tasting food.

Went here for a friend's birthday party & they sat us in a private area in the back. Food was great! We'll definitely be back.

We enjoyed this restaurant and appreciated that it wasn't very touristy. Service was attentive but not clingy. The drinks were good. We had lamb shoulder with a delicious mint sauce and mushroom ravioli. Both were excellent. Desserts were good but not great. We would dine there again.

Wow, we had dinner here on our first night in Paris, and Richer definitely did not disappoint. The place was recommended by our host (B&B) and we were very fortunate to get a table, as we were arriving during the busy dinner hour. The customer base is definitely locals but the experience set us up for the remainder of our trip! The table top had a beautiful, sparkly, shiny presentation, and everything was "just so!". The staff was very friendly, and although our server confessed to it being her first night on the floor, she was quite helpful and charming, and didn't hesitate to get help from a supervisor when necessary. The other staff members were all terrific, too. The crab salad was excellent and as an entrée, the larger portion was very filling and generous. My husband loved his roast chicken, and the attention to detail with regard to delicately prepared, tasty sides was really great. The fingerling potatoes and tiny button mushrooms were delicious. We had three courses, and wine, and our bill was 104.00 Euros. We considered that a very reasonable price for our experience. It was a great spot.

Our first attempt to eat here was met with a bit of resistance, considering that we were trying to catch a show and there was a bit of a rush to get seated. That was fine and the host more than polite. We opted against eating here, but upon the day we were supposed to leave Paris it popped into my mind again so we decided to try again. My SO and I walked in around 14:00 on a Tuesday to a reasonably busy restaurant. The hostesses recommended the chestnut soup, steak tartare, and scorpion fish. We ordered them all, of course. The soup was served lukewarm-to-cold with a few drops of smoked egg yolks; it was rich yet delicate in a way that wasn't overwhelming to the palate. I really like this dish as it sort of encapsulated, what perceive to be, the philosophy of fine french dining: complexity, subtlety, and just plain deliciousness. Next we moved to the steak tartare, served more like a carpaccio, with a sage drizzle around the edges and shaved ginger on the side (to cleanse the palette) which really lived up the flavors. The highlight of the meal, for me at least, was the scorpion fish which was served skin on, with sides of baked sushi rice and chinese cabbage (bak choy), and plated in a wonderful creme sauce that gave the dish a wonderful tangyness that had me coming back for more. Of course, the side of bread was there as well. There wasn't a dirty plate anywhere to be found.Looking out into the bustling streets with classical french music playing softly in the background was a beautifully melanochic way to end an excellent stay. If only I had run across more places like this while there, I might just have known Paris a bit better. There's always next time.

This is the perfect place for an unforgettable meal off-the-beaten path in Paris. The atmosphere is enchanting, modern, and simple. The staff couldn't be better. I had the sweetbreads for my plate and almost bursted out of my shirt from all the delicious, whole grain bread I used to soak up the rich sauce. This is a meal I'll remember for years to come; exactly what a foodie visiting Paris wants. Sublime!
Be the first to ReplyGreat happy hour wines and house selection du jour rotates.
Will let you taste each one. Wait staff knows the wine and takes the time to detail each. Great corner spot and lovely place to have a sip before dinner.
Be the first to ReplyThe dessert was extraordinary.
They have English menu so remember to ask for it. The food we had was the steak and the veal. The steak was great but the dessert was the show stopper! We ordered the milk rice and might come back again just for the dessert! Yum yum!

Really wanted to like this place but it is not worth visiting. Good ambience, not very friendly but functional staff, good wine list.....and the food is mediocre at best.Try l'office next door, which is under the same management. Richer is probably a bit cheaper but cheaper for something incomparable.
Be the first to ReplyOur dessert was artistic, but not great.
However the staff are wonderful and the drinks were perfect.
