Robert New York Reviews from The Last Year
This is my favorite restaurant in Manhattan to take people
This is my favorite restaurant in Manhattan to take people who are visiting from elsewhere. It super modern and beautifully decorated. Very bright and colorful with a beautiful view of Central Park and Columbus Circle. The staff is professional and on point. They have many great things on the menu, I never had anything that I didn't like, everything looks good and tastes even better. Cocktails are fabulous!! My favorite time to come here is the brunch. The chef always brings something sweet when you finish the meal. Everything about this place is just amazing!
The best view.
Food used to be better pre-Covid. Service is excellent In fact the service was far and above the best thing about my most recent lunch
This was a pretty good fine dining experience but honestly
This was a pretty good fine dining experience but honestly the food was okay for its price. Although service and ambiance were great the bass was a pretty small serving. Would I come here again? Most likely not. But for a special date or special family occasion it is great for the experience.
Quite OK
Great view, good staff, original menu, high prices. Overall quite nice if you are in the area or want to go to the Met.
First time coming to this restaurant and I was surprise by
First time coming to this restaurant and I was surprise by the service, the ambience and the food was delicious! If you can, call and ask for a window table so you can overlook Central Park and the Columbus Circle. The service was outstanding. Every person that talked to me and my friend were polite, and you can tell this restaurant cares about quality service and food.
Robert has a nice atmosphere.
People dress for dinner (not overly) but you feel special. Just the lower lit lights ad to the uniqueness. Two instrumentalists played must've adding to the premier setting. It is not inexpensive yet not overpriced for what you get. If you are going to spend, do it here. The service is excellent; the waitstaff are all professionals. Very discreet. I loved having time to eat without being rushed. The burrata starter shocked me because it was so tasty - I've had burrata before but not nearly as delicious. The scallops were cooked to perfection. The Brandon received raves. The chicken was tender and ample. Then dessert; we each splurged on a confection. We had a great evening. I'm sure you will too.
Pretty view of Park
This restaurant is on the 9 th floor of the Museum of Art and Design on Columbus Circle. It is very close to a subway stop and 5.5 blocks from Lincoln Center. You do not have to pay museum admission to eat here. You can go, also for free, to the lovely museum shop on the ground floor. Service at Robert is lovely. A window table is best. Those benefit from making a reservation. Note: you might be charged a lot if you cancel a reservation in under 24 hours. Lunch offers a three course prix fixe for $51. Also a La carte. The fruit and green salad is nice with a good dressing. It is large. The chicken sandwich has too many ingredients so I ate only half. It may be the cheapest entree at $24. We didn’t order dessert so received two small pieces of Oreo cheesecake. These were very pretty and free. Appetizers may be the way to go here. Do check the menu online. I do like the view of CentralPark, particularly when Fall leaves change color. My guest had a cheeseburger. We had two diet cokes and two coffees. The bill before tip was $102 and change. I would not hurry to return. The food was ok, not great.
Overall a good spot for a brunch.
The ambiance is lovely as there was a piano player and the shades were up. We requested a seat by the window but they weren't able to accommodate which is no big deal, they were able to seat us one row away from the window and that was even better for me. I ordered the burrata and the cheeseburger. The yucca fries are unique in texture and satisfyingly crunchy. The bun on the cheeseburger was a lot so I opted to only eat half of it. The burrata was creamy and went well with the balsamic caviar. We ordered the mango coconut panna cotta as well which was divine, would go back there just for that. It was also beautiful to look at! One star off because the service was not great -- it took a very long time to place our order for our entrees and our dessert, which kept us there for 2 hours. Servers themselves were great.
Another nice special meal!
We had a wonderful table once again, which is always a treat! Jose was a super server, and all the staff were attentive. Kudos to the young hostess, who was very helpful. Wines are well selected, a bit pricey for the size. Enjoyed Burrata, garden greens, and branzino. Everything was delicious and well prepared. Took a bit long for the cappuccino. Overall excellent visit! Thank you.
Good food, well prepared.
Great views (3 Weeks advanced reservation to get a window table but good views from many seats.
4.5 / 5.0 - My friends and I came here for brunch on Easter
4.5 / 5.0 - My friends and I came here for brunch on Easter Sunday and were in for a fun surprise. Robert is on top of the Museum of Arts and Design, with impressive views of Columbus Circle and Central Park. We'd made reservations in advance but unfortunately were unable to sit by the windows with views. We still had a very enjoyable meal in this spacious and stylish restaurant. We ordered the Rigatoni ($25+), Lobster Roll ($21+) and Scrambled Eggs & Caviar ($28+). The complimentary basket of bread and muffins was a nice addition. The food was good, but the highlight for me was the festive atmosphere and Easter treats. They had a cotton candy stand, where they offered free cotton candy. And during our meal, an Easter bunny came around, waving and posing for photos. I'm not sure how they celebrate other holidays, but I would love to be back again for more unique experiences as well as the views.
Good food, great view, excellent service
Brunch was yummy. The views from the dining room were spectacular. Our friendly server was the best. My companion had the Benedict and I had a mushroom omelet. Dessert was also worth every calorie. Go!
This is one of my fave places in the city I take tourists
This is one of my fave places in the city I take tourists here but I've also had dates, lunch with my mother etc. Now I will say - the food is not the absolute best in the world. No. But the ambience, the interior design, the music, the views, the crowd are all fantastic. And check out the bathroom in the back with a window. LOVE IT
Food was beautifully, presented and good Service was
Food was beautifully, presented and good Service was excellent, and the ambience and the view was superb !
Excellent Dining Experience
We have had dinner at Robert in the past. Our experience has been consistently excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our meal was well prepared and beautifully presented. The view of Columbus Circle is lovely. The noise level was low allowing us have a pleasant quiet conversation.
Looking at the park.
A little small place with tables a little too close together but with a wonderful view (even from the bathroom) on Columbus Circle. Very fussy about booking time. Overall it was the best of the three restaurants we tried in New York (although the filet mignon at Morton's is unsurpassed). Discreet service.
Restaurant with a view!
Had an amazing experience at Robert went there for a pre-theater dinner, and was welcomed by the staff. We were given a wonderful table by the window where we could watch the sunset at Columbus Circle. The appetizers and the entrées were amazing the drinks , the wine was wonderful, we did experience the piano player that started at 6 o’clock and added a wonderful added ambience to the beautiful place. I highly recommend!
Fantastic
Incredible experience. From the food, the service, and the views a perfect combination for and excellent dinner. I can’t say enough to describe what the experience was like, but it was for my daughters birthday, and we had a great time.
Expensive Thanksgiving dinner
This was the third time that my wife and I had Thanksgiving dinner at Robert. Full disclosure: my sister who has always treated us before somehow forgot to leave her credit card when she made our reservation. Imagine our shock when the bill came. We're a couple of educators. Gulp! The food, drink, ambiance, and service (thanks, Irving!) are great, but we can't come back here. Maybe diners with more money can. :)
A place to be
Robert fulfilled all of our expectations: booking was easy and super friendly, there was no issues to add one persone more, we asked first the window snd we got the best spot to serve the Columbus Circle. Food was absolutely delicious and the little birthday dessert enlightened the evening of our son. Staff super friendly, quick serving. Thank you, Robert, we will be back!

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
