I visited Rochambeau for brunch on a Sunday and it was perfect! The ambiance is literally amazing in this place, there a few different rooms, the bar on the ground floor in darker and more moody, the area on the second floor is brighter and has really beautiful decor, it looks like a restaurant from Manhattan.I got the croque madame and it was absolutely delicious. The fries were incredible too. This place is pretty huge so I don't know if I really needed the reservation but it was easy to make online and the service was really attentive.I will definitely return for brunch and can't wait to try dinner here soon.

We had reservations early on a Friday night before going to the BSO for a concert. Large first floor seating area with a big wrap around bar in the middle. Beautiful inside, strong first impression. The host took us to our table on the second floor, and we were seated not that far from the kitchen. You could see inside the kitchen through the glass windows, and I thought that was pretty cool.It was early in the evening so service was strong top to bottom. I had the duck which was OK, I think its probably a great dish but not my style as much. I did love the Gnocchi though, and actually ordered a second helping of it after loving the first so much. Wife and kid enjoyed their meals as well. All in all a nice experience and I would for sure go back.
Be the first to ReplyServiceable bistro fare with a hefty price tag.
The atmosphere appears trendy, but it feels completely soulless and lacks any kind of warmth or charm. The service was fine. At the end of the day, take a cue from the location. This restaurant is set into what is essentially a mall. The food and atmosphere lives up to its location. Essentially a high end mall restaurant without anything particularly notable or differentiating.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is good albeit it overpriced.
The service wasn't so good. Very rude and aggressive waiter, scoffed at some minor requests. Everything will be "fine" but nothing will be particularly mindblowing.

Came by for a nice dinner last weekend - we had a reservation, and the two of us were seated as soon as we came in. A warning, though - the group next to us at the front of house - also a party of 2, but without a reservation - was told that they were fully booked until 9pm (!) so do make a reservation. We started with a steak tartare to share. The tartare itself was a little bit too oily n my opinion but otherwise quite , but when eaten with the bread it paired quite well. (Sourdough bread was actually soo good - super fragrant and we could smell how fresh it was as soon as it was served. The parmesan on top was a little odd, in my opinion. It was (presumably) melted and resolidified into what was basically a cracker or a crisp; kind of difficult to eat since it was too hard and brittle, and it was a bit messy trying to eat it with the steak.I had the grilled Hampshire pork loin - such a great choice! The pork was perfectly cooked (roughly medium rare), so it was tender and not at all too chewy (as can sometimes be the case with pork). I loved the accompanying spätzle and sauerkraut (technically choucroute garnie as named on the menu) - very tasty in and of itself, and complemented the flavour of the pork very well. We also ordered the proscuitto wrapped cod, which was definitely an interesting (creative?) choice. The cod was tender and flavourful, but much of the plate was overpowered by the heavy aroma of the veloute. Clams and potatoes were nice additions and paired nicely with the fish. The biggest issue for us was that the ambience - music in particular - was way too loud; we were leaning over the table and practically yelling to hear each other from just a few feet away. All in all, a bit pricey (although expectedly so, and certainly worth it), so probably best to save for a special occasion - but I think I will certainly be back! :)
Be the first to ReplyThe vibes of the restaurant are great.
Super pretty interior and where we were sitting you could see directly into the kitchen which was fun. They did forget about the apps but when it did come out it was super good. The food was pretty good. We really liked the steak frites with the garlic butter sauce. The caesar salad was pretty good but not very filling if you don't add meat.
Be the first to ReplyLovely place.
I was completely blown away by Rochambeau. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nice meal with great vibes and beautiful decor. The drinks are fantastic and the food is extraordinary. Our waiter Carlos was very friendly and gave us great recommendations the entire night. My friend and I shared everything. We had the Moules Frites and Octopus to start. Both very delicious. And we ordered the veal porterhouse for our entree with a side of Brussel sprouts. The veal was perfectly cooked and the poivre sauce was so good!! Get that dish. Lastly for dessert, we had the Apple Clafoutis--very tasty and served with ice cream. The brunch menu looks good and I'm planning to come back.

Firstly the duck way too salty and the pork belly was not marinate well ! Secondly seated for 3 hours , the candle really killing the atmosphere and the whole restaurant fill up with carbon dioxide and make me dizzy ! Lastly the chocolate cake was so plain and not outstanding like you can purchase one from supermarket. Not recommended

The food was generally good but I wad disappointed the bread was charged extra, considering the large markup on dishes like cassoulet. The atmosphere is good, similar to Bouillon Chartier in Paris and the service was great.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a wonderful place to enjoy a delicious meal.
The staff is professional and responsive. We ate dinner there on new year's and had a great time.

Came for dine out week and while the food was pretty good, what caught us off guard was the undercooked pork that the manager said was "normal". As extremely hungry girls, we didn't realize how raw the pork was until we were almost finished with it and how red the entire meat was (also the lighting in the restaurant is extremely dim). Yes, we were dumb in that moment believing the manager and just simply thinking it was okay, but didn't realize how dangerous it could be for our health until we came back home and thought through the situation. Also have read other reviews stating how their food was undercooked as well.
Be the first to ReplyI've been here twice in the last few months.
First time we got just a cheese board and drinks. The cheese board was one of the worst I've ever had. Very overpriced for what you got and one of meats was absolutely disgusting. A French place NEEDS a good cheese board. Come on. Second visit we tried the restaurant week menu. The oysters were weirdly fishy, not great at all and came with a side of home fries? They were actually the best thing I had all night but such a strange choice. Next I had the salmon which was very undercooked and nothing special. The decor is gorgeous, the drinks are pretty good but I have not been impressed with the food unfortunately. I don't think this place will last long in prime real estate.

Our first time here and it was absolutely amazing! It exceeded expectations and we will definitely be back again. The host recommended the Muscles and did not steer wrong they were to die for, my guest also loved the steak frites and wanted to order a second Parisian Gnocchi after loving the first (got him to try the French onion dip and he loved even though hating onions). All of the drinks were great but definitely recommend the rainbow sprinkles above all. We will definitely be back

The French onion soup was lovely, especially with the baguette. The soup unlike other French onion soup has oxtail, which adds a rich flavor. The space is beautiful and the staff is super friendly.

The restaurant was not crowded.Food was great: the foie-gras and the beef tartare tasted amazing, the fillet was extremely tender, cooked to perfection... and the sauce was unbelievable! The cocktail didn't impress me but the Bordeaux was delicious. Service was good, very friendly and reasonably attentive. Atmosphere is really amazing: loved the decoration and the overall look. The bar downstairs is stunning. For what it offers, the price is reasonable. Definitely not a cheap restaurant but it is worth it! One of the best dinners I've had recently!

I'm basing this review off of my second visit and it just to keep in mind, my first visit to this place was on Valentine's Day last year. My fiancé and I really loved this place for more initial first visit and wanted to come here again and make it a Valentine's Day tradition. Unfortunately, they did miss the mark on quite a few things. First, the seating. We were seated in an area that was relatively by the bar and it was beyond noisy and the lighting was so dark and dim you could barely see the menu in front of you. Also, the server must have been you which is totally understandable but when I had attempted to order my entree from the Valentine's Day menu, he looked at me all confused and said that wasn't a thing. Why have it advertised all over your website if it isn't a thing? I decided to order the honey roasted duck breast which could have done better with a sprinkle of salt but I let it go. The skin was not crisp at all and the cabbage and apple mix lacked seasoning. My fiancée had to have her steak sent back and it literally seemed like they threw that same steak back on the grill and gave it back to her. Flavor was great but we are in the middle of a pandemic and the fact that a food item was just mixed in with other peoples food seemingly appears like a lack of food safety in my opinion. Our server was a little bit slow to come back to us to see if we needed anything and also wasn't mindful of us needing more water or anything else. Granted I understand that it was a pretty busy night considering we went on a Saturday and the weekend of Valentine's Day but honestly this visit made our love for this place decrease.
Be the first to ReplyOoof, wanted to like this place so much.
Great second floor environment and decor, first floor, not so much, nice ceiling thoughFood, ummm, overpriced and not amazing at all... They no longer offer the bread pudding, the main reason I went, but it was still on the menu. The omelette was an omelette I guess, $26 though. Service was pretty poor and slow, waitress did not use her mask 100%, the whole nose thing not under mask, why bother having it on at all. Will not be going back here for sure.

My friends and I came to Rochambeau for brunch on a Sunday and had a pretty good experience! We made a reservation ahead of time and were seated promptly. The space was pretty empty, although I'm not sure if this was intentional to promote social distancing. Either way, it felt very quiet and ambient during our time there. We ordered the bucket of bubbles ($40 for a group of 3). The waiter set up the juices nicely and it was fun to create your own drink! I got the breakfast tarte flambee (or flatbread) which was pretty good! It was definitely a heavy dish for brunch, but they were generous with their portion of eggs and cheese. Overall, we had a good time here, but it didn't stand out much to me. Their interior design makes it a great place for a special occasion! I would also be willing to come back to try their dinner menu!
Be the first to ReplyWe decided to try Rochambeau on NYE and really enjoyed it.
The service was excellent, great staff. The food was really good, everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Bolognese and thought it was very well executed. The combination of flavors from the sausage, sauce and cheese along with perfect pasta made a simple dish really pop. The duck, octopus and mussels were great too. We capped it off with espresso martinis and really enjoyed those as well. Would eat here again.

Came here with a few friends for our yearly catch up! The drinks were delicious! I ordered the Madame Lavande which had Gin, Earl Grey, Lavender, Lemon with Egg white on top! For food, we ordered the Charred octopus, Cassouilet, Classic Bolognese, and Veal Porterhouse. Everything was shareable! The food was good, but it was salty. We kept drinking water to help with the saltiness. I enjoyed the Veal the most. Service was great and our waiter was super energetic and helpful!
