Fried batter (not fried fish) beehoon
The fried fish nuggets are mostly batter with a morsel of fish meat. I’m not sure if I’m eating fried batter soup or fried fish soup. Separately my mum went to eat at this stall to find without surprise the fish were substituted with batter. She asked the owner why and got back this answer, ‘if you wanted more meat you should have ask so... patrons don’t care about so much fish meat as they are eating while playing their phones’. I’m not kidding. This stall had been my favourite since young but it is ridiculous that the owner gave such terrible remarks.

There are many fish soup stalls found in various food centres all over Singapore. Some may consider this is a healthy dish. However, I have eaten some which are too salty. One particular stall which I like is found in Yuhua Village Market and Food Centre. It is located at Blk 254, Jurong East Street 24. At the time of writing, you still can find $2 price chicken rice in this centre. One of the cheapest, as far as I know !
The fish soup stall is called Ron Sheng, #01-44. It is manned by HongKong owner. Strangely, the reason why I like about his fish soup is the batter of the fried fish. Though the meat of the white fish is small, the batter is very well done. I reckon it is one of their secret recipes. (I almost want to ask them how to make the batter. Will they tell me ?) The soup base is also very tasty with lot of cabbage added in. Believe me, at $3.50 for a bowl of fried fish mee hoon(rice vermicelli) soup, the portion is large.
Before putting up this review, I went to patronize this stall for a couple times to make sure the food is consistently good. I am happy to say I always left with a satisfactory meal. It is one stall that I will come back. When I asked the stall assistant when they are closed for rest, the answer was - no fixed day. A little no system here, I reckon.
