I mean.
.. Wowsers. We had a reservation for 9:30pm and huddled up outside with other patrons who also had that time slot. Then sure enough they let us all in. It's seems like if you don't have a reservation, you pretty much aren't getting in. We sat near the deli side and can see the endless amounts of cheese and meats for sale. Lots of meats going through the aging process a.k.a. more flavor! Service was a bit slow, but no complaints as we were served with our complementary bread which included a variety of breads like an olive one and a walnut bread . The menu is pretty large and the options seem endless. They also have a couple of seasonal items which sounded amazing. However, this time we chose to go with a couple of staple items. For the appetizer we went with the FIOCCHETTO, MELONE E PRIMOSALE - the melon was sweet and juicy the crispy aged ham had a great amount of flavor and salt, and the cheese was fresh and creamy. Best combo of flavors! For our mains we chose the CACIO E PEPE - cheesy and black pepper heavy RAVIOLO DI CODA E PECORINO - the foie gras sauce with fig compote is one of kind. So delicious! Both MAYBE JUST A TAD TOO, AL DENTE FOR MY TASTE, BUT THOSE SAUCES AND FLAVORS WERE RICH AND LICK THE BOWL CLEAN! We left with a happy heart and very full bellies. I hear they have a location in New York now? Might be worth the visit!
There is a saying, "when in Rome.
.." yeah, and this is the reason why they say. Some of the most incredible pastas in the world you will ever have. You must order the foie gras ravioli, and the Cacio e pepe. The best you will find in Rome! Just the most incredible dining experience to feel like a true woman that lives in the city and like an Italian. Friendly and knowledgeable service, and very, very cute atmosphere. Right inside a salumimeria and cheese store!
A birthday treat
We popped in for launch in the deli part. The food was excellent & the tiramisu to die for. Itโs very popular so would recommend booking
Popular spot.
There's a bar and store inside this small restaurant. When we got there we saw a queue of people with reservations like us and everyone piled in within the first few minutes. The menu is vast and overwhelming. Service was ok. It seemed like our server was in a big rush. We joked that you got 5 seconds of his time and then he had to go. They have this wonderful bread but I think that was the best item on the menu and we ordered a lot of food. We had oysters, gazpacho with raw fish, anchovies, lamb (hard to eat/cut), pasta dishes, ravioli, meatballs, salad ... everyone was somewhat dissatisfied. It was a very expensive meal where everyone was left pretty unhappy.
Worthy of 5 stars! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.
Sitting outside people watching. Wine selection was terrific. Bread and cheeses were a delight. Truffles to die for. Pasta was, of course, amazing. Our server was so very helpful and very busy, too! Grazi Roscioli! Allora andiamo...
Great food - Highly recommended
Can't recommend enough. Great food, fantastic atmosphere and definitely the best dinner we had in Rome. There is a reason why this place is so popular.
Heaven in every respect.
Great service and AMAZING food and wine. A beautiful experience ! We have already reserved for our first and last nights of our upcoming return trip to Rome.
My favorite restaurant in Rome.
The best food I had in Rome. Iโve been to Rome before and eaten in great (Michelin) restaurants, but Roscoli was special. So good. Loved every single thing I ate.
Ham and pasta!
We went there for lunch as it was all full for dinner during the week we were in Rome. Great pasta but the ham was the highlight, whether as a starter or those mixed in the pasta. Pasta was cooked al dente which I love! I ordered a glass of prosecco to start the meal and it was great too. A bit rush towards the end as they had another set of bookings arriving but this is what restaurants have to do when they are popular so all good. Itโs a small busy restaurant in a deli so full of action. We have enjoyed our lunch there.
I died and went to Rome.
This place had the most amazing pizza. O.M.G! Also the pastries were divine. Love this place. Would like to return! Service was good. Staff was very helpful. Feel inside was good. Sat outside to enjoy food. Close to campo di fiori and Jewish ghetto.
No sure if Roscioli is a MICHELIN Guide restaurant
With all the hype about how good this place is, I had high expectations for their pasta and was ready for a feast. Before we could try any of the dishes, we encountered a lady managing the seating plan who was very blunt and monotone in instructing everyone to stay outside and wait for her to call them. It turned out there was no line or ruleโpeople just rushed to her and stated their names. Brilliant. At the end, when I approached the same lady to pay, she completely ignored me while I stood right in front of her, holding my card, clearly wanting to pay. She continued chatting with her colleagues, showing no signs of acknowledgment. I stood there for three minutes and waited patiently. Eventually, I decided to walk around the shop to wait for her to finish her โvery urgentโ conversation. The first thing she asked rudely with attitude when I returned was, โWhereโs your bill?โ Our wonderful server had informed us that we just needed to mention our table number to pay! After a good 7-8 minutes, I was finally able to complete my payment. On a positive note, our server was excellentโhe took great care of us and checked in regularly. I just don't understand the lady in charge. As for the food, honestly, it was mediocre. The pasta was very so-so, overrated, and a bit pricey for the quality. I am not quite sure why there's such a big hype about this place, and of course, we are not coming back and do not recommend.
Wooow!!
Fantastic place with authentic Roman flavors and incredibly kind staff. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and every dish felt like a taste of Rome. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience genuine Italian hospitality
Tucked away near Campo de' Fiori, Roscioli Salumeria con
Tucked away near Campo de' Fiori, Roscioli Salumeria con Cucina offers an exceptional late night Roman dining experience. On a recent visit, I went in for a classic Roman duo: cacio e pepe and gnocchetti all'amatriciana -- and both delivered with personality and precision. Cacio e Pepe was beautifully executed. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, coated in a creamy emulsion of sharp pecorino and freshly ground black pepper. The flavors were bold without being overpowering. Gnocchetti all'Amatriciana was a delightful twist on the classic replacing the usual rigatoni with soft, pillowy gnocchetti. The sauce was the star: rich in tomato, just the right level of spice, and layered with crispy guanciale that added texture and a smoky depth. This dish felt indulgent without being heavy, and it's easy to see why it's a customer favorite. Roscioli's dining space is built into a bustling salumeria, with shelves lined with fine wines, cheeses, and cured meats. The vibe is relaxed but buzzing , intimate, yet authentically Roman. Even at a later hour (past 9:30 PM), the staff was attentive and welcoming, and the energy of the place hadn't slowed down one bit. Don't forget to tell them Flavia sent you!

Loved everything about this lunch minus the wait for our table. Ambiance is cool- cozy with a butcher store in the front that has lots of delectable items for sale. Food was sensational as was our wine. I recommend the Foie Gras, it was magnificent as was the Burrata with Semi-Dried Cherry Tomatoes followed by La Gricia - omg died and went to heaven over how delightful and delicious this was. Go! Make a rez in advance.
We had a 9:30pm Resy and as I fell asleep on the tour bus
We had a 9:30pm Resy and as I fell asleep on the tour bus we were on, I thought we'd be back in Rome with plenty of time to get to the restaurant. As it turns out, we hit a ton of traffic coming back from Positano and got to Rome at 10:30pm. I kept emailing the restaurant, and I even tried to call a few times, but never heard back. On a complete whim, I decided to just show up and try our luck. We initially walked up to the outdoor area and were instructed to visit the other storefront. I rushed in, muttered a long apology for why were extremely late, only to have the host point to the empty table in front of him and say "have a seat" lol. WHAT A RELIEF. And there was only an hour before they closed too! Our server was amazing. She had great energy, told us exactly what to order (as it was my first time dining at the Rome location, having eaten at their NYC outpost). The cheese and meat selection was superb, I was thrilled that they had Sancerre. While I liked the carbonara, I did not LOVE the carbonara. Regardless, I'm so happy they accommodated us and I'd come back!
Tremendous experience to dine at legendary Roscioli and I
Tremendous experience to dine at legendary Roscioli and I must say their carbonara was the best carbonara I have ever had! I strongly believe that it was their ingeredients that played a big role in. Took advantage of their summer truffle special menu and ordered "beef carpacio from Piemonte with summer truffle" Truffle was served as flakes rather than slices. I offered to pay more and asked them if they can serve slices of truffle instead. However communication did not go very well. I was impressed by the quality of beef though. It was very fresh damn tasty beef. Wait staff recommended Merlot to go with carbonara which I thought it was an interesting pair. It worked out somehow well with guanciale in my carbonara. I also need to point out that they use "Paolo Parisi" egg for carbonara. If you are not familiar, look it up. Their own craft beer was lovely as well.
On our quest for the best carbonara in Rome, we stumbled
On our quest for the best carbonara in Rome, we stumbled upon an unforgettable gem. When in Rome, after all, one must savor what Rome offers. This meal became one of the highlights of our European adventure through Italy, Spain, and France. It's no surprise this place boasts a Michelin star--it's entirely deserved. Every detail was perfect, from the impeccable service to the extensive and exquisite wine selection. The carbonara and burrata were the true stars, but everything we tried exceeded expectations. When we return to Rome, Roscioli will be our first stop.
Best breakfast!
One of the best breakfast we had in Italy the croissant and the coffee were amazing! The staff super friendly! Highly recommended!
I will never forget this meal. Heaven.
Simply some of the most delicious food Iโve ever had. We mostly stuck with cheese and cured meats, plus a couple of pastas. We were in heaven. Burrata, yes please. Mozzarella with anchovies and zucchini, insane. Reserve far in advance. Our servers were great.
"Don't leave Rome without going to Roscioli," a few friends
"Don't leave Rome without going to Roscioli," a few friends advised when I asked for suggestions for my vacation. I honestly can say that was some of the best advice. You do need to make reservations well in advance and I probably sent quite a few days looking on the calendar online for an opening until one day I saw a single 9:30p opening 3 days before I was scheduled to fly out. In person it is quite the small space, and you have the option to book outside, inside their market area, or downstairs in the wine cellar which is where we were seated... its kind of charming to lean back and be seating next to shelves of vintage wines. The service here is impeccable and the friendliest I experienced while in Rome. and I received great suggestions from the staff on wines and appetizers. Now for the food.... If you can imagine some of the best freshest pasta, perfectly cooked with the most flavorful sauces... that is what the experience is like here. I ordered the La matriciana o amatriciana, it had little flavorful bites of pork cheek in a very bright flavorful sauce. My partner ordered the Cacio e Pepe, it was fresh and cheesy. We also shared an order of the meatballs, which were juicy and tender. I dream of coming back here and ordering everything else on the menu.

Yes, you will meet every American foodie who is in Rome the same time as you in this joint BUT... The carbonara here changed my life. Perfect harmony of flavors and textures. The way they cook the guanciale is OUT OF THIS WORLD. The cocktails are delicious and I would go back again and again. The do all 4 of the major pasta dishes with excellence. Get a reservation if you don't want the long line outside at dinnertime. Opt for a later dinner if that works for you. Our server/bartender was awesome even though she was overwhelmed at times with ever single of her staff looking to her for action or direction. She was very mindful that we didn't over order and she was patient in answering our questions. Ambiance is a consistent buzz and bustle. Servers are constantly busy and may bump into you a lot if you sit by the bar. A couple of them are cute so I didn't mind. Hehe. This place is very used to American diners (you'll see when you get there) but that's not there fault. It's a testament to their consistency and reliability. Priscilla is very much a great place for Roman staple dishes and then some. Go book a seat. You won't regret it.
Rating drop on promising meal
I was looking forward to dinner with the family here. The service was excellent. The waiter made some appetizer recommendations and they were very good. We ordered four different pasta dishes and they were all way, way over saltedโhence what would have been a five star rating was dropped to three. Maybe it was a one-off, but I would give this place another chance if we were staying here longer.

Having tried so many tiramisus in Italy, I have to say, the tiramisu I had at this restaurant was the best of them all! Of course, I didn't make a reservation two months in advance just to have dessert. After hearing our server's recommendations, we also ordered: 1. la burrata pugliese con pomodorini: burrata was so fresh and balanced well with the sweet and tangy sun-dried tomatoes 2. burro e parmigiano "francescana" 3. "la gricia" di stefano: the crispy pork cheeks were absolutely delicious but can start to feel heavy after a few pieces 4. selection of prosciutto Overall we had a great experience at this restaurant, although I felt it was tailored more towards tourists because the tables around us all spoke English. I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a fancier meal.
Still adore Roscioli
The amazing ROSCIOLI never disappoints. Table perfect and where we like to sit In the Deli area. Delicious starters of Mortadella and a baked tomato caprese which was also divine with their yummy bread. For mains we each consumed their utterly magnificent Cacio e Pepe. Three times now and we savoirbevery morsel. Beyond delicious. Please give Rosciolis a try. It could never disappoint โค๏ธ
We had the opportunity to eat at the Roscioli in New York
We had the opportunity to eat at the Roscioli in New York and on our recent trip to Rome we were able to get a reservation at the original Roscioli. A cool restaurant/market. The inside is a little close quarters with more space at the back. A few bar seats are available as well. We ordered the bread to start which was fresh and delicious. The mortadella and caprese appetizers were delicious. The cacio e Pepe was the best I've ever had. The rigatoni was delicious as well. We split the meatballs which were great. We didn't order dessert but they surprised us with some chocolate sauce to snack on. Delicious meal. Highly recommend. Excellent service.

This restaurant definitely receives a 5 star!! Roscioli has the best carbonara past and tiramisu I've ever had! the service from the waiter was AMAZING, and they were so nice, and funny. I would really recommend going here if you are going on a trip to Rome, and if love pasta! (I recommend getting the La Carbonara, and/or the Fiori Di Zucca
Another great meal at Roscioli
Our fourth trip to Roscioli over the years and again it did not disappoint. We usually eat at the bar and this time selected the wine room. A bit more chaotic with everyone being seated simultaneously but nonetheless, the food quality and wine selection was excellent. Portions are very generous so consider sharing. We were shown a special black truffle menu but learned at the time of order that truffle was not available so had to make a quick pivot on our selections. Staff was friendly and professional but a bit stretched. Make your reservations well in advance and enjoy.
Located in the heart of Rome, this venue offers
Located in the heart of Rome, this venue offers well-crafted traditional Roman cuisine. The staff is kind, and the ambiance, though a bit cluttered, is cozy and enjoyable. It's definitely a bit pricey for what it offers, but it's worth a visit.
Burrata and pasta dishes were quite good, desserts
Burrata and pasta dishes were quite good, desserts fantastic. Service was also wonderful. A great way to start our stay. Ambience was cozy (sat in cellar). Hope to return someday!
Outstanding service and even better classic Italian wine
Outstanding service and even better classic Italian wine and food. A+ from me. Highest recommendation.
Pizza by weight.
And it's delicious. Like, seriously delicious. Incredible baked goods and other almost deli-like foods. Must grab a bite here.
One of the best lunches in Rome and perhaps Italy
This is one of the best meals in Italy. The meats, pastas, wine and serviceโฆ.amazing!! Canโt wait to eat at their NY location!!!
A "must-do" experience, an amazing temple of the good food
Lunch here is an amazing, unforgettable experience. Food of the highest quality, prepared magnificently, served by a waiter of the highest competence and professionalism, not to mention the splendid wines. The unique atmosphere of this "salumeria" makes it much more than just as restaurant. I suggest to stay in front of the cheese/hams display rather than going to the lower restaurant room. Very reasonable price for this level of experience. By the way, probably the best cacio e pepe pasta that I have ever had!
Awful service and mediocre food.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. You're definitely paying for the instagram hype. Rome has 100s of fantastic restaurants
It's been 6 months since our honeymoon in Rome and I'm
It's been 6 months since our honeymoon in Rome and I'm STILL dreaming of my dinner here. There's a reason reservations are booked months in advance. They are busy so the tables are close together and it's a tad warm inside, but it was August in a touristy town so I didn't expect much else. The food was the best I had in the city. So good, I was too busy eating to take pictures. We shared the oxtail ravioli and the cacio e pepe for our mains. OMG. If I could shrink myself down and swim in both dishes, I would. The only bad thing was this was our first dinner in Rome, so it really set the bar high. I might book a trip back just to eat here again.
A must when in Rome !
We had dinner during our stay in Rome and I must say it was well worth it! You can dine in their cellar, which is full of an excellent selection of wines. The food was also mouth watering. Every plate was a unique experience! Not to mention their divine desserts! Don't miss trying Cacio e pepe -the best we have had there- and of course don't skip buying high quality cheeses and other local products from their delicatessen. Service is very good too,but there is space for a little improvement.
Wonderful dinner
I had booked a table in the front deli of this restaurant/salute row but upon arrival realized we didnโt want to sit there. Thankfully the host was very accommodating and seated us in the wine cellar. I highly recommend either the main restaurant or the wine cellar to sit in. The buratta with truffle was life-changing. Beyond delicious. We shared cacio Pepe and carbonara which were both phenomenal. The wine we had was also fabulous. I highly recommend when in Rome!
Great service, excellent food
Roscioli was by far the best restaurant experience in Roma we had. The visit started with a nice gesture when the whole personnel was welcoming visitors by the door. Starters were outstanding. I have to mention the focaccios with tomato that were so good that it is hard to find words. Everything was in balance the tecture was amazing. The same continued with the main courses. Everyone was ansolutely delighted with those. The dishes were made with pricision and love. No doubt about it. The chianti classico served by glass was nice quality and paired perfectly with the pasta dish I had. After the dinner I ended up buying 5 bottles of wine, DOP balsamico, a bottle of grappa and some olive oil. Those were great quality and the prices were reasonable. I will come back if I will visit Roma again some day.
Great experience
Roscioli was recommended to us by multiple people before our trip to Rome and it did not disappoint. It was our first meal in Rome and it really set the tone. The gricia and amatriciana pasta were amazing. Highly recommend the roman based pastas. Our server was also very helpful and patient with two people who did not speak Italian. We enjoyed it so much we also visited their cafe and bakery!
Still Top Notch!
Roscioli is one of our โgo toโ places in Rome. Once again, we were delighted to come back for more great pasta...this time twiceโฆfor lunch one day, dinner anotherโฆall the classic Roman style pastas....terrific carbonara, thick spaghetti with acciuge (anchovy) sauce, cacio pepe, excellent bufala mozz and culetto, Roman artichokes, and a reasonable wine list. As good an โAmatriciana as we have ever hadโฆperfectly cooked guanciale lurking in the perfect sauce. This time, we reserved seating in the wine cellar for dinner, and in the โrestaurant roomโ past the counter for lunch; get a seat wherever you can.....canโt come to Rome without dining at Roscioli at least once...we make sure to get there twice! Itโs that excellent!
We just keep coming back
Excellent Roman fare and a varied menu. Great waiters too. Always on our Rome list, and you better book in advance online. And do not miss their other 2 places all in the same vicinity. This an institution and you cannot go wrong.

Almost always busy but the food is good! Great pastries and pizza, fast moving staff, reasonably priced fares.
Highly recommended by friends and respected review sites .
.. while the service was friendly and the ambience unique (we sat at the bar) not a must when in Rome.
It's a classic.
Tony Bourdain introduced it to the world and it's been super popular since. The carbonara is a must try. Really enjoyed the experience. Be sure to make a reservation in advance. Walk ins are nearly impossible
A few days after dining at Roscioli, in Rome, we read that
A few days after dining at Roscioli, in Rome, we read that the restaurant recently opened an outpost in New York City. That made the prospect of leaving Italy less depressing. My husband and I will cheerfully take the train from Philly to experience once again this restaurant's best-we've-ever-had bread basket, its peppers and anchovies stuffed with capers, and its justifiably famous carbonara, which spoiled us for every other pasta dish on our trip. Our hotel was right across from Roscioli's bakery, where we sampled excellent pizzas, pastry, and the Platonic ideal of porchetta sandwiches. We stopped again in Rome at the end of our trip and hoped to get back there. Sadly, it was booked.
An amazing dining experience when in Rome!! Whether you try
An amazing dining experience when in Rome!! Whether you try this restaurant for lunch, as we did, or dinner, be sure to make a reservation as tables are limited. Atmosphere is great and it was fun for my 25-year old twins and I to sit at the bar for lunch and get treated to a birthday cocktail!! We had the best gnocchi we've ever eaten, homemade and coupled with the most delicious sauce!! Gave us the energy to continue our sightseeing and shopping for the afternoon. Highly, highly recommend, as your tastebuds will thank you!
I wish i could give this 6 stars! We did the wine and food
I wish i could give this 6 stars! We did the wine and food tasting and it was the perfect mix of facts and education about Italian wine and food as well as conversation with the others at the table and of course our amazing guide to all the courses. We sat in the wine cellar in the basement which felt like a secret chamber surrounded by hundreds of bottles of wine and a cool wooden chandelier. The portions were the perfect size, one or two bites each for the cheese and meats and a few bites of the pasta course and desserts. We felt full but not terribly full as you sometimes do after ones of these. Water and bread were unlimited and the experience was one of a kind.
Excellent dinner at Roscioli in Rome.
I had the pasta carbonara which was very good. I suggest sitting at the bar/counter. The service was excellent. The ambiance is a bit loud and crowded but not too bad.
I really wanted to like this place.
Made a reservation one month in advance. Full disappointment. That is easily the worst meal we had ever. The restaurant is very difficult to get reservations to. We had reservation, ordered carbonara and francescana pastas as well as basket of breads. First came breads. Stale. Like yesterday's or day before. Fine. We don't like stale bread so didn't eat them. Next pastas arrived. They look great. One bite. Wow. They are horrible. So salty you can't take a second bite. Both of them. We asked for the check and left. You would think that restaurant will not charge for two full plates returned because they are so salty? Think again. 40 eur charged and no dinner. Horrible!
What a fantastic meal & experience
I had read and heard so much about this placeโฆ well it is now one of favourite places to dineโฆ. Itโs an experience that you will not forget and I look forward to my next visit And to all thinking of going, REMEMBER TO BOOK IN ADVANCE
