3/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Shan H. on 07/21/2024

Came here last night to celebrate my belated birthday (my first proper bday meal) at the chefs' counter. Food was as usual amazing. Our favorite was ice cream+caviar, lamb pasta, and baklava sundae. However, our waitress wasn't really attentive or seemed careless which somewhat left bad taste in my mouth. She first forgot to tell us we can add on the fried chicken. Then we found out she forgot to put in our order so we had to wait for 20+ mins for the pasta course. Later we didn't get the birthday cake to finish while there was a table of 4 nearby got 3 cakes and candles. When I was looking at chef preparing another candle+cake thinking that must be for us, suddenly she appeared and handed us the check and paper bag to rush us out. I woke up in the morning and feel slightly sad about not getting the cute candles and the cake :(

GREAT Experience

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Barry G on 07/08/2024

I usually do not review restuarants as I find people are too picky sometimes on their reviews with too high expectations but our dinner experience was the best. Not cheap but worth every penny of the $400 (including multi course fine food creatively made and presented, taxes, tip and 3 glasses of wine) for the two of us. Our server Kae was so welcoming with a fantastic personality. Made the dining experience top notch for us. The entire staff did such an amazing job. Did not wait for anything, water was filled promptly, dishes served and removed upon finish in a timely manner. Did not want for anything. The food was excellent from the bread, Lychee Salad, Grilled Cucumber, Pea Pasta, Tteokbokki, Beef ribs to the final touch of Leches cake. Our 5th time at Rose's but not our last. Well run and I highly recommend.

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Jessica L. on 06/26/2024

I've been to Rose's twice now, in different seasons and with different people, and both times it was great. The service was spot on both times and I appreciated how helpful and friendly our servers were. They made the dining experience more fun! The first time I went was with my husband, and the second was with my husband and some friends. I think I liked it slightly better with a bigger group. With just my husband and me, the portions were almost too big. Weird complaint, I know. But I wanted to eat it all and keep eating and I just got overwhelmed because of how full I was (and how good everything was)! Going with friends we still got a ton of food, but somehow the portions felt a bit more manageable. I like that they let you choose your own tasting menu and each person at the table can choose different things. This allowed us to try many of the options on the menu. And the food - it was all amazing. So, so good. People rave about the pork and lychee salad for a reason. Just get it. Yes, it seems like an unusual combo but it just works! Trust me on this one. I also LOVE their lemony spaghetti. Just thinking about it makes me crave it again. Rose's is definitely a "special occasion" kind of dinner, but it's worth it. It's a great place for a date night, a celebration, or somewhere to take your parents. I will definitely be back.

For our wedding anniversary, my husband and I were treated

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Lia H. on 06/22/2024

For our wedding anniversary, my husband and I were treated to an evening at Rose's luxury by our son. We live in NW DC and made the 'hike' to Capitol Hill last night, on a balmy, early Summer evening. Little did not we know that this amazing, vibrant, fun neighborhood exists in our city, with a restaurant gem like Rose's luxury to boot. We had an amazing night, with wonderful food in of the most fun and original (in the best way possible) restaurant we have ever been to. We were welcomed like we were old friends, had the most attentive waiting staff team (without being overbearing) and ate really, really good food. We have been fortunate to experience food from well known restaurants, exceptional home cooks and although we are not food snobs (love a big mac everyone now and then), we can distinguish between a decent meal, and an outstanding one. Rose's Luxury experience was an outstanding one. The attention to detail about the different dishes, the positive energy of the whole team (no exception - everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there - staff and diners) and the amazing dishes, made it a fabulous night. We loved everything, especially the dishes that were brought to us a surprise and to make our anniversary even more special! Even among all these amazing dishes we had some favorites, with the absolute hight lights being the 'pork and lychee salad, grilled jumbo asparagus w/ pineapple aioli, Billy bi mussels, and the honey fried chicken breast. It truly was a fabulous evening and we will go back for sure.

Located in Capitol Hill, Rose's Luxury was the first

4/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Nick P. on 06/18/2024

Located in Capitol Hill, Rose's Luxury was the first Michelin star restaurant we went to in DC. At our reservation time, we were seated immediately. Tables are a little close together so you can hear other people's conversations. FYI, you can come as you are. You don't need to come in a suit. I did some research prior to coming but you can choose what you want from the menu. First course we chose ice cream and caviar and pork and lychee salad. Second course was pasta al limone and mentaiko spaghetti. Third course was "brothers" beef back ribs. We added fried chicken. It was the special for the night. Dessert we chose mole negro sticky toffee pudding and horchata ice cream. Service was impeccable. They give you a little treat to take home and cook. Overall I would give 4.5. -challah bread with caraway honey butter 5 -bread was soft to cut and moist. Butter was aesthetic on presentation and tasted great. -ice cream and caviar 5 - who would have guessed but this is an excellent combination. I only wished I could have had more. Highly recommended. -pork and lychee salad 5 - their signature course. Make sure you mix it up before eating. Tons of flavor. -pasta al limone 3 - it was okay. Noodles were soft and cooked perfectly. Lemon can be overpowering so we mixed a little with the mentaiko spaghetti. -mentaiko spaghetti 5 - great dish. Noodles were creamy and delicious -"brothers" beef back ribs 5 - tasted like kalbi you would get from Korean restaurants. Meat was cooked right and not chewy. -fried chicken 5 - crunchy skin and moist meat. You drink the beer after each bite. -mole negro sticky toffee pudding and horchata ice cream 5 - not too sweet. The ice cream was easily the highlight. The pudding was a little rich but still tasty.

oh well.

We had heard such good things and were so disappointed. * For that price, I'm unsure why we ate so much pasta. * For a sharing menu, I'm unsure why we didn't receive serving utensils. * The main dish was served without even enough vegetables for one, let alone two. (I will say the ribs were excellent, although too hard to separate into two meals). * The lychee pork salad was delicious and unusual. * sometimes, the flavors of the dishes, and of the extra ones thrown in, would conflict. * The chef uses too much sweetener. * And, too loud.

Rose's Was A Revelation

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @sox1fan on 04/27/2024

To be honest, I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of going to Rose's Luxury... the last prix fixe restaurant I'd been to was in HI - for an anniversary donner... and while the food was very good, the six courses provided me with nine bites of food... and we hit a McDonalds on the way back to the hotel. But my wife REAALY wanted to try Rose's... and, as they say, happy wife / happy life. So, we went... Thank goodness! Now I'm not so jaded about the prix fixe format. To start with, our waitress - Angelina - was outstanding! Friendly. Attentive without being smothering. Quick and accurate with her recommendations. Perfect! We started with the pork and lychee salad. It was a cornucopia of taste... once served, we were told to stir it and mix it well. It was a bit surprising and delicious! As we were eating the salad, Angelina brought us our squash blossom rangoon, which came with two sauces - a sweet and sour sauce and a (mildly) hot pepper sauce. The light tempura batter was perfect... the sauces were divine - my wife preferred the sweet & sour sauce while I preferred the hot pepper sauce. For the pasta course of the dinner my choice was the tteokbokki a la vodka... it had a little kick to it... which I like. But as good as it was - and it was GOOD - it was my third favorite of the 3 dishes we enjoyed in the pasta course. Three, you ask? For a two-petson dinner?! Yes, I say! I'd asked Angelina for her recommendation between the tteokbokki and the cacio e pepe. I chose the former because i like food with a little heat / kick. But Angelina took the opportunity to send us a complementary cacio e pepe, as well, so we could try both. (I told you she is fabulous!). It is such a basic dish, but when done well, it is amazing. And this was AMAZING! My wife opted for the pasta al limone. It was really delightful... and the crispy fried lemon peel across the top of the plate sent this recipe over the top! My wife said she'd like to go back to Rose's even if only for the pasta al limone!! Our main course was the poached lobster. As a New England native I tend to avoid lobster when I'm in another part of the country, but I really wanted to try the poached lobster so we rolled the dice... and rolled a 7!! Lastly, we ordered dessert from their "Slightly Ridiculously Sized Desserts" menu. An inaccurate name!! They were RIDICULOUSLY sized desserts... there was no 'slightly' about it. We had the baklava sundae. Huge! Divine! This was a tremendous culinary delight... it's a pity were weren't HERE to celebrate our 10th anniversary!! Thank you, Rose's... and Angelina!

2/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Dan H on 04/24/2024

Not worth. Room temp pasta just to save the seaweed and cold pre-grilled cucumbers are not good, nor becoming of a restaurant aiming to shoot at such a high station. Too clever for your own good. Not worth $250/head. "Free desert" when its included in the tasting menu and every table gets it is a dumb way to feign for more tips. The DIY pasta bag to-go was also not necessary, and seems to have been simply added to amp up the padgeantry (presumably to take focus away from the aforementioned dishes that fell short).

The staff are great, the chefs bring a special mix and interesting variety with a generosity for guests that keep us coming back. The classic lychee salad is always on menu and a must. They expertly pair drinks through each course in such a way that the whole evening is complete. This is how you dine out in Luxury

GF options all around which was much appreciated. You start off with a bread service, choose a greens, a pasta, then an entree to share for two.. and lastly a dessert. We actually got the pork and lychee salad gifted to us along with an extra "birthday" dessert for celebrating my friend recently becoming a mom. Service was entirely amazing. New plates with utensils are brought out within each course, water filled at all times, a full bar for any drink you'd like. The gf bread is a biscuit with a whipped honey butter. I opted for the fish roe and ice cream as my first--the roe paired really well with the sweetness of the ice cream, ttekboki as my pasta--a little too sweet for my liking but spicy and cheesy, shared the ribs as the entree--such a good soy sauce umami, and was given a coconut sorbet for my gf dessert--this was so creamy that it tasted more like an ice cream than anything. Drinks are a bit pricy here as well, going for about 16$ a drink. We left for two, spending 300$ pre tip. Ouch....

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Stephanie A. on 03/07/2024

Dined at Rose's Luxury with a group of four and had a wonderful time. Our server was helpful, friendly, and attentive. She surprised us with an extra appetizer (the one dish we hadn't ordered, to try) and dessert (an item that would soon be added to the menu, in honor of the special occasion we were celebrating). Absolutely zero complaints about the service! Between the four of us, I think we tried everything on the current menu. It was all delicious. The appetizer course was probably my favorite, as all four dishes I tried (the pork and lychee salad, the ice cream and caviar, the squash ragoon, and the cucumber) were amazing. The one I, myself ordered--the ice cream and caviar--was thankfully my favorite. I've heard the pork and lychee salad is a staple and must get there, and I'm glad I was able to try my friend's, but I much preferred the ice cream and caviar. The bread service was also amazing, even as someone who doesn't like rye. The lobster was cooked to perfection and paired with a delicious butter sauce and cooked spinach (though I found the addition of peppers and avocado to be an odd choice). For dessert, the pea cake was so fun and unique and the sticky toffee pudding with peanut butter ice cream they brought us to try was amazing. We were also sent home with an adorable cacio e pepe kit! However, I would not recommend the tres leches cake. It was beautiful and large, but it was dry--the exact opposite of what a tres leches cake should be--with too sweet of a frosting. The best tres leches cakes are saturated and with a strong condensed milk flavor, and this one was more like a slightly damp pound cake with a sugary frosting. I did like whatever the caramelized bits on top were, though. Hopefully the sticky toffee pudding is replacing this dessert on the menu. I'll note that I thought the wooden benches against the wall were extremely uncomfortable to sit on for a three-hour meal, even with the pillows, and would recommend claiming a chair or stool. But you know it's a nice restaurant when they not only have wash cloths as the hand towels in the bathroom but the same name-brand toilet paper you have at home... Ultimately, I thought $115 was a fair price for the amount and quality of food we received, along with the service. The Initiative 85 fee is extremely annoying as usual, but at least we were notified in advance. Overall, would recommend.

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @D'Lontae S. on 02/29/2024

Finally had the opportunity to go to Rose's Luxury for a 530 reservation. Unfortunately parking was a nightmare due to location and I hadn't planned for it. I let the restaurant know that I was running late and they were gracious about the tardiness. I got sat at the bar and was greeted by enthusiastic staff. The restaurant was lively and a bit loud for my liking, but it was great energy overall. The customer service was A1, one of the best I have had in the restaurant industry. Emre and Samantha were both knowledgeable, welcoming, and full of life. I hope to see them again. I accidentally spilled my drink during a food presentation, the staff cleaned up my mess, replaced my drink and made it no big deal. My hats off to them. The food was delicious to boot. Bread Service- Full of flavor and texture. The butter was impeccable Pork and Lychee Salad- Fun flavors and textures. The pork was mouth watering. Cucumber Salad- An interesting way of doing a classic. It wasn't my favorite since I like my salad a particular way. Caviar and Ice Cream- This is a must have. I didn't expect to love this combination of flavors as much as I did! SNOWMEN" TTEOKBOKKI A LA VODKA- I wish I had three to four servings of this to myself. Spicy but consistent with every bite! I loved this. Pasta Al LIMONE- a citrusy pasta dish. Another interesting flavor profile i wasn't expecting. Very tasty , but not something I'd eat again. Miso Glazed Short Rib - This was probably my favorite dish of the evening. This was also heavier than it appeared. However, there were no remains to be found when finished. I highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to have fun with their food and feel seen and heard by staff at a restaurant.

After a long stretch of time away from DC, I hadn't been back to Rose's Luxury since the days of queuing as early as 4pm. So many restaurants have changed (not necessarily for the better) post-pandemic, but I wanted to take my mother out somewhere special as a thank you. I immediately thought of Rose's Luxury not just for their great food but the homey vibes they've always cultivated. Happy to say the food is just as good as I remembered (would pass on the tteokbokki but the pork and lychee is just as good as ever and the miso short ribs were a delight). I would love to see an option to have the a la carte menu back because it is A LOT of food, so be warned to go hungry. But more than the food, they have maintained the same standard of warmth that sets the experience apart from others and a special shoutout to Kay (sp?) who truly went above and beyond in making our night! Amazing hospitality.

Worthy of a Michelin star? Absolutely.

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Farah K. on 02/11/2024

Some have said it's not the same as it used to be, but our dining experience was fantastic. From the food to the service, everything was perfect. We had dinner reservations and were seated promptly. Our server was Nina, and she was the best. She took really good care of us, making sure to note any and all dietary restrictions on the menu. The prix fixe price has bumped up a little since Feb 2024. But it was worth it. You share the bread service, pick one item each for the first and second course, and then share the main entree and the dessert. The bread was some of the best I had, and I loved the caraway butter it was served with. I could have eaten the whole loaf by myself, to be honest. For both our first course items, we both picked the famed lychee and pork salad... but vegetarian, as we don't eat pork. They were happy to sub in some Impossible sausage, and I have to tell you this dish should be an entree. I could eat a big plate of this. It's sweet, it's got some kicks of spicy, it's crunchy from the peanuts, and the mint just brings it all home. There was a bit of a wait between the first and second courses, so our excellent server had a plate of the crab squash Rangoon sent to us. This was so good, not greasy, or weighed down from the frying. Served with a chili crisp sauce and a sweet and sour sauce, it was again a perfect appetizer to share. This was going to be my choice if I had not gotten the lychee salad, so hats off to Nina for, I guess, telepathically deducing my backup choice! She also got us some drinks on the house(a lychee fizz or a lemon fizz, I forget the name) Second course I actually got the mentaiko pasta (my brother told me he enjoyed this the least... so, of course, I had to try it haha). My boyfriend got the tteokbokki a la vodka. I honestly loved my dish. It does taste like the ocean, and I can see how the room temp nature of it can throw some people off, but I didn't even really notice it much. I tried my boyfriend's dish, and it too was great, a sweet and spicy gochuchang sauce coating chewy rice cakes a la Sunday sauce style. We shared the poached lobster entree, and my only complaint is... I wanted more. The lobster was poached very delicately, and I had never tried lobster with fruits before, but it worked so well? For dessert, we got the tres leches cake, and they aren't kidding when they say they have ridiculously sized desserts. The cake was not disintegrating under the volume of the liquid, and it was nice and spongy and one of the best tres leches cakes I've had. We also got a scoop of their house sorbet ice cream as a Valentines Day treat on the house, and again, when I say exemplary care and service, this is what I mean. I also loved the little take-home cacio pepe kit they gave us! And 25 cents from every meal goes to the world food program. I would love to come back here to celebrate a special occasion. It is hefty on the wallet, so I can see a special date night or occasion being the reason to come here and indulge and splurge.

This is not a quality business. Their food deserves a 3 at best but their service and overall experience definitely pushes my rating to a 2. They were very slow, dressed very down (sweats), and not particularly caring after I notified them we were there for a special occasion. This is also a VERY expensive restaurant for the quality, portions, and service. It hurt walking away with a $250 bill for special night out for two with such underwhelming service and quality. There are plenty of restaurants to get quality food, portions, and service elsewhere.

A fallen star...

3/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @DC Jen on 01/12/2024

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but this is no longer a Michelin-starred restaurant. The service is always top-notch, but the food has lacked the creativity it once did. I can imagine that that level of creativity is difficult to maintain over so many years and the restaurant business is incredibly tough, but you don't get to keep your Star indefinitely. This is now a nice, pretty restaurant that has impeccable service and is good for a dinner out. We have lots of those in DC, but for less than the $105pp, which is increasing to $115pp starting 2/1/24 (+drinks+taxes+tip).

Good food, thoughtful chef, friendly wait staff & hip vibes

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @YY_Xie on 12/12/2023

For the 5-course meal, I had the signature Pork & Lychee Salad to start, followed by Calamarata alla Vodka (calamari shaped pasta in vodka sauce with squid & thai basil), Poached Lobster for mains, and Baklava Sundae for dessert. The chef was kind enough to serve an extra portion of the Pasta al Limone (spaghetti with butter and lemon) so I could try it, which was a really nice gesture that I appreciated. There was even homemade pasta and cacio e pepe mix to bring home at the end of the meal, which was again a very nice touch. Overall, the food was good, though I would say that the hype and somewhat celebrity status of this place raised my expectations a little too high. The salad was unique and wonderfully refreshing, while the sundae was interesting - it was essentially a deconstructed Baklava. The lobster was very fresh and had the perfect texture, but I didn't quite understand the sauce or how it was meant to enhance the taste. The menu is designed for two (e.g. mains are meant to be shared), and the portions didn't seem to be reduced in my case despite being a single diner, so I was very full at the end of it, but I'm not complaining as it meant good value for money.

We love Michelin restaurants and this one missed their star.

3/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Melva LaJoy on 11/18/2023

First, I want to start off by saying that every single person we met at Rose Luxury from beginning to end was lovely. The service was gracious, high energy, and adhered to my severe allergy but in terms of being Michelin rated restaurant, my husband and I struggled to understand why. For context, we have dined at these restaurants recently, some of them more than once: Graphite - 1 star Michelin in Amsterdam Gravitas - 1 star Michelin in DC Kinship - 1 star Michelin in DC Helene Darroze - 2-star Michelin in Paris Ducasse, multiple restaurants - As diners know, he gained the most Michelin rated restaurants worldwide. Guy Savoy - 1 and 2 star Michelin rated restaurants. David Toutain - 2-star Michelin rated in Paris Paul Bocuse - 2-star Michelin in Lyon, France And this is our short list of where we have dined across the world as fine dining is a hobby of ours and here is our honest opinion. --First, I tried the caviar and coconut pairing - Nice enough but nothing truly experimental. --My husband had the squash blossom rangoon which we recognize is technically hard to accomplish. It had a solid flavor profile. --We both had pasta dishes that were decent but again it lacked the creativity and edge we are accustomed to at Michelin restaurant globally. --Probably the best thing we ate was the lobster which was moist and came with a nice sauce. Do we think this is a good restaurant? Sure, but Michelin? No, we really did not see that. If we were eating back in Paris, where we live part-time, this would be categorized as a bistro gastronomique not something on a Michelin level. Also, if you do not like pasta (unless the menu changes daily which is the case for some of the restaurants mentioned above) this is likely not a great choice for you. Early this morning, we asked ourselves: "How was it?" and reflected on our dining across the world and settled on "disappointing with really and I do mean REALLY nice people" and considering the reviews we recognize that we are one of the few that have this opinion, but this is our honest and informed review as serial diners.

A Great Restaurant

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @LoafJugThouTree on 11/13/2023

This is a marvelous prix fixe resto where each diner can pick two faves for each course. Everything was just wonderful; mostly farm to table foods prepared excellently and presented that way, too. The service was outstanding, as is the venue itself. It has a nice wine list, but it also permits corkage (at $35/btl) for your own special wines. This has been a top DC resto for c lose to ten years (I may be wrong), and we haven't had anything less than excellence each time we've dined here.

Generally Disappointing All Around

2/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Kristina P on 10/22/2023

We went to Rose's for our anniversary - my first time going but not my husbands. It was also Rose's 10 year with a special pre-fix menu. We had fun because we were together, but we had a surprisingly very disappointing experience with the restaurant. We ordered sparkling water, the tap waters were not away - nor the empty bottle. Empty cocktail glasses were not taken away. The server took my husband's 2nd drink order but not mine before walking away, and then the drink was wrong. I decided to keep it and they brought his correct one (a little surprised we were charged for that). The server kept addressing us a "okay friends," which was strange. Things were coming much too fast - suddenly we had 3 courses in front of us and had to request they slow down. It would have been nice if we had our own prepared plates and not a share plate that we had to cut and move to our own plates (and less plates required that way). Some of the dishes were quite heavy and by the time the entree came it just wasn't enjoyable and we didn't eat much. Challah bread to start - with a strong butter from some sort of spice seed that was good for the first bite but not beyond.Salad and cabbage and then Cacio de Pepe (just ok), Gnocchi - which really wasn't gnocchi at all it was pierogis (disappointing), then fried chicken. The fried chicken was just ok, and came with good biscuits but unfortunately butter with fried chicken skin which would have been good had it not had frying oil in it (awful). While sitting with this dish, they brought around champagne glasses and poured us Miller beer "the champagne of beers" because thats what they thought we should be having with fried chicken. Unfortunately that's not something either of us would enjoy and was quite wasteful. When they took the chicken away we said we were full. After all of that, they brought not 1 but 2 desserts - an anniversary one on top of the large included one (an over-salted chocolate souffle). We just looked at them and couldn't even think about eating them. I might have enjoyed a digestif or a coffee or something - never offered. When closing out our bill we were brought what looked like a grocery bag with Rose's name on one side and "F*** Perfect" on the other. It had a sandwich in it to go with two Capri Sun beverages. I'm really questioning the selections and what Rose's seems to think diner's go to high end restaurants for these days. For what we paid (and even that aside), I doubt I'll ever go back - and I certainly won't be recommending it.

Special anniversary dinner

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Austin F on 09/29/2023

My wife and I visited DC for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary and this was one of our highlights. We had so many dishes and everything was good with some courses being excellent. The service was amazing and included some nice surprises and extras. That started with a round of champagne. For the second course my wife had ordered a glass of wine that the waitress recommended pairing with a lychee dish. My wife was hesitant to order that not having had lychee before and ordered something else. The waitress brought us out the lychee dish as an extra just so we could try it. Later they brought us a few other extras, chicken wings, an extra dessert, and port wine. Food was delicious but the service was what really made the experience.

Rose's Luxury continues to be one of the best restaurants in DC. They are consistently excellent. Ice cream, caviar, and happiness is one of the best dishes on any menu in this city. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. This place is one of my favorites.

What an amazing experience at Rose's Luxury.

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Diandra L. on 03/14/2023

My bestie and food soul sister lives in DC, and she has been calling Rose's her favorite dining destination in DC. So you just know I had to book it for dinner when we went on a trip recently. The menu is small, and you can pick 4 savory items per person. Each service also includes bread and one dessert per two people. We went with the Pork and Lychee salad and Ice Cream and caviar to start, and the Steak Au Poivre and tortellini en brodo as an entree. The absolute stand out to me was the Pork and Lychee salad. It was something unlike anything I had had before and I could eat it every day. I also super enjoyed the Steak with the french fries served in a tiny car. With our meal, I opted for the wine pairing because who doesn't want to have wine with each course? I most certainly do. Aside from the meal, the service was amazing. I wish that I remembered our servers name but he was super funny, sent us complimentary cauliflower, had a very delightful wine pour and also had us leaving with cacio e pepe to make at home.Instead of wine my partner opted for cocktails that were really delish, too. I also cannot write this review without acknowledging the glassware here. I will dream of the rainbow coupe glasses, so unique and detailed!Rose's Michelin star is well deserved, from the service to the ambiance to the food this was most definitely an experience. I also felt that it was a great value for the amount of food. Would definitely go back!

Plot twist: we were invited back after our horrendous

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Naz S. on 03/13/2023

Plot twist: we were invited back after our horrendous experience and it was AMAZING this time around. From the food (the lychee and vegan pork is bomb) to the service, everything was top notch and unpretentious. This time we did the chef's table and it was fun to see the chef's and servers at work. And damn do they work hard. All our servers were kind and polite and respectful. The presentation and taste of the food was top notch. Details. For drinks, I got the tiki rum drink (can't remember the name), which came in a reusable red solo cup, umbrella and Marichino cherry. It was sweet with a tiny hint of spicy but not overwhelming and I got quite the buzz! My friend got the spicy tequila drink and their signature rose drink. Both phenomenal especially the rose one. For food, started with the bread ( the least exciting of the dishes) followed by our lychee salads, which was so good I used up the bread to scoop up the juice. We next got the strawberry pasta which I really enjoyed and want to emulate (strawberry purรฉe and pasta sauce) but my friend found to be basic. We next got an amuse bush of popcorn soup which was tasted like butter and purรฉe with two nice chunks of purรฉe. I could put that in a baby bottle and drink all night it was so good. Lastly I got the short rib in a mashed purรฉe of sorts and it was a beautiful presentation but I didn't love the texture of the beef. My friend got the Dover sole with hush puppies, and it was fun to see him debone the fish. At that point I was stuffed but out came THREE DESERTS. Two fun birthday celebration cakes and one coconut and ice cream desert. We were absolutely stuuuuuuffed at this point. A great redemption, and dreaming of coming back now!

Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. From the moment we sat down it was a great experience. The drinks were fun and very well made. I canโ€™t stop thinking about the loaf of bread. We didnโ€™t end up ordering their famous pork and leche salad but our waiter, Nam D was nice enough to bring it anyways because it was a must try. I donโ€™t eat salad, and it was delicious. Everyone should get it. The rest of our courses were to die for. We were so full halfway through the meal, I would recommend not trying to order all of the larger dishes. Trust me you will be full no matter what.

I would consider this my favorite restaurant in Washington

5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Brian V. on 03/11/2023

I would consider this my favorite restaurant in Washington DC and possibly one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. As a matter of fact, I recommended this place to one of my good friends who was visiting DC with his family and he told me it was one of the best dining experiences he's ever had. A few years ago I was visiting my cousin in DC, and he was busy one night, so he suggested I come here. I was worried because it sounded like the seating and wait was pretty daunting. I just showed up by myself and put in my name and as luck would have it, I was able to get seated at the bar within 5 to 10 minutes! The food and what I ordered/ received (so you know I'm not just sprinkling this place with superlatives and hyperbole for no reason):-The bread: even the bread was so tasty. It was potato brioche, and it came with a side of sour cream and chives and crispy onion I love baked potatoes and bread. The perfect dinner starter doesn't exi...wha!-Romaine heart, crispy potato, duck egg: I guess this was my salad, but eats more like a small plate appetizer.-Lychee & pork sausage salad (their signature dish): holy heck. I mean seriously... So freaking good. It's almost like a perfect blend of flavors, textures, and overall just fun and playful. You get some crunchiness from the onions and pork sausage. You get some sweet from the lychee and coconut cream/dressing. I'm still dreaming of this dish years later.-Hand cut trenette cacio y Pepe: perfectly cooked pasta, and a delicious emulsified sauce and the earthy flavor of pepper. Great pasta dish and a great piece of the whole meal. -trio of ice creams: OK I don't mean to blow them up, but I didn't order this and they let me have a sample of their three different types of ice cream. They brought this out and it was a very lovely surprise. And oh my gosh all the ice creams were so freaking good. The service was super friendly, and I would consider it impeccable. I seriously felt like a VIP that night. Not the bum off the street coming in by myself on a Saturday night like what it was in actuality lol.The restaurant itself is just so beautiful. That exposed brick and wood and lighting made for such a beautiful atmosphere. It also helps that all the guests seem to have fun and the vibe in there was just so jovial. The bar seating area was just so fun that if I ever come back. I would consider specifically asking to sit at the bar.My cousin has since moved to a different city. But I am very tempted to visit DC maybe just to go to this restaurant, haha. But if I do find myself back in DC, this is a must and at the top of my list.Disclaimer: I ate here years ago, but came across the pictures recently. I still have fond and vivid memories, and like I mentioned above, I have recommend this restaurant to multiple people since my visit and they seem to agree with quality of this institution.

Absolutely wonderful experience!!!Came in from NJ for a birthday dinner after seeing the reviews on Yelp. Was SO impressed! We made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance, and were seated right on time. The menu consists of shareable dishes, and you select 2 meals per person (so our 6-party group selected 12 dishes). We tried all the menu offerings, and our favorite was the "Pork and Lychee Salad."We were worried that we wouldn't get enough food - but at the end of the night, we were all so full we could barely breathe! Our server Malcolm was amazing and had us laughing the entire evening. One of the most memorable dinner experiences we have ever had.

Rose's is easily on par with the best of them. The building is beautiful, menu is whimsical, and service is top notch. Back to the food though, every detail is meticulous and attention to the craft is amazing. I put this chef team up against any of the Michelin chefs in the country. If you are here on business, ask for the upstairs bar seating.

3/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Adeola O. on 03/07/2023

3 starsI'm not sure I can fully put into words how underwhelming I found the food here. The lychee salad (their signature dish that's been raved and raved about) was warm. The spare ribs were salty and the cucumber salad (which I was kindly provided a tasting of on the house) was fine without being as amazing as the bartender made it seem.I also ordered the gin, basil, grapefruit cocktail but the only flavor that came across was the grapefruit and ever so slightly. There also didn't seem to be much gin in the drink.Compared to the Dabney and the Smith where you can walk in with literally no pre-conceived notions and have an amazing dining experience (food quality wise) I was sorely disappointed by RL. The food was dressed up but lacked flavor and panache

We were invited back to the restaurant by the management team, and this time around, we absolutely loved our dining experience: the food was phenomenal, our server was hilarious and professional, and our seating (right by the window) was perfect. And we relished the play on fish and chips (we ordered two plates of this). The simple yet delicious desserts that followed were refined and a far cry from our previous dessert experience at Rose's. 5/5 by ๐Ÿ‘ป @Maria S. on 02/28/2023

I went to this lovely and exciting place for a belated Valentine's day and we chose two seats at the counter (because we love it, it's sexy and we love socializing with the bartenders, when possible)! Upstairs. The atmosphere was a mix of elegant, cool, warm, friendly and professional vibe! Such a big part of our enjoyment, that night. We were very mindfully taken care of, we let them know that one of us is vegetarian so they made sure to adjust our dishes so that we could both had the best experience. I loved the pork and lychee salad...possibly the highlight of the evening! Such a complex flavor, light and delicious at the same time. The mushrooms cappelletti in broth were also very good, felt cosy and a nice transition before ordering the fried fish. We got two desserts, but unfortunately I don't remember what we ordered. I think we got one tart with orange marmalade on top, and then we got something with ice cream with some crumble at the bottom...I just remember it was very good! My partner and I had different opinions about the tart, so maybe pick the ice cream?! Or just try something different and then let me know what I should pick next time I go there! ;) The whole experience was really great...I think there was a little delay on a dish at some point, but it didn't bother us at all and especially the waiters, waitresses and bartenders were fantastic in compensating for it by adding a couple of dishes to our experience.Thank you for nicely contributing to a fantastic date, Rose's Luxury!

Rose's luxury is very popular so you definitely have to plan ahead and make a reservation several weeks in advance! There is some street parking available in Capitol Hill but you might have to take your chances. The vibe is super chill, and our server was very friendly. We even got the popcorn soup with lobster chunks at the bottom as a treat! - ice cream, caviar, & happiness fish eggs- the pork and lychee salad times two- miso glazed short rib ร  la chefs nobu and robuchon- sethole fried dover sole with a side of avesomeness (aka caviar tartar sauce)- baklava sundae (one dessert serves 2.9 people)We were super full by the end and we even got ingredients to make Cacio y Pepe at home as a gift. It was a great date night experience!I am really impressed by the creativity involved with coming up the combination of flavors. I'm guessing there was inspiration from different cuisines (e.g., French, Asian, Mediterranean, etc) and these different elements come together so well! I would love to come back again and check out other dishes!

4.5 stars for food, 5 stars for service. Our party of 4 had the pork and lychee salad, hazelnut pesto pasta, tortellini, miso short rib and Dover sole. All dishes were fantastic except for the tortellini which was just ok (it had a slightly sour taste which we didnโ€™t love). The lobster soup with popcorn was a tad salty but still delicious (and very rich!). Baklava sundae and coconut ice cream were delicious and hubby received a special birthday dessert as well. Our main server Malcolm was superb as were all the other servers who came to our table. Truly top notch service.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Rose's Luxury Washington at 6 PM the same day.

* BraveCloth47 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to BraveCloth47 for any questions Peter may have as BraveCloth47 user fills the bid.

3.) Finding the Reservation
