Be aware, hours of operation are not consistent.
I arrive at 2:30 PM on a Friday, 30 minutes before the advertised closing time, and was told that they were closed. When I pointed to signage on the outside glass on their restaurant, as well as on GrubHub, Yelp and their own website, I was told that they close at "different times".

Most items on the menu are watery except probably the naan, the samosa and chana masala. Their lifeless chicken pieces in a dreary watery curry resemble floating items on river Ganges. Their daal - is just dull and awful. Non existent chicken in chicken tikka masala. Overpriced food items and meager portion and a blah taste. Such a sorry state of Indian fast food option in a business district. Indian food lovers are being taken for a ride. This is just hopeless.

Probably the least flavorful Indian food I ever had in my life. I love Indian food so I was deepest disappointed that this place was once and done.
Be the first to ReplyGot the lunch special on Ritual.
It was very watery chicken tikka masala. Saag paneer was better since it wasn't watery, but both lacked flavor still.
Be the first to ReplyThe taste is awful.
Never eaten so tasteless Indian cookery. Waste of food and money.
Be the first to ReplyUsed to be great before pandemic.
Now everything is a watered down tasteless mess. No flavor and 2x the price. Was so happy to be working DTLA again to eat there but never again.
Be the first to ReplyThe curry is watery and that grossed me out.
friendly and fast service, but the food is not good (especially relative to the great Indian restaurants in LA)
Be the first to ReplySo watered down it isn't even funny.
Didn't stick to the spoon, didn't stick to the rice and basically just made the naan instantly soggy. I totally get that this is mall food... But please just pick something else.

Literally so good for what you pay! A freshly made naan (plain or garlic) for 0.99 cents. It's made in a circular stone oven, soo bomb. And the food is delicious with lots of depth of flavor. One of my new favorite indian food spots! 10/10 Also staff, were phenomenal! Super sweet, very informative and just nice vibes.

Another sorry restaurant using covid as an excuse not to get their shit back together. Portions smaller. Quality down. Not open weekends (highest potential for sales). What is wrong with y'all?

Expensive for the quantity! The small food bowls are 3/4 full and may satisfy an 8yr old kid at most. Quality is not that great either.

This is located in an underground food court with a pizza place and a lemonade. I ordered a salad and the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Food came out pretty fast and was $11 for salad and tikka masala (you can get rice or salad - they wouldnt let me choose half and half). Salad smelled rancid like sour milk. The chicken tikka masala was flavorful but the chicken tasted canned and kind of dry. Garlic naan was good and flavorful but a little thick.
Be the first to ReplyNormally happy with this fast food style but not when fast
Normally happy with this fast food style but not when fast means raw lentils! I realize when you are making a bunch of dishes take the time they take to be cooked properly can't be changed or rushed BUT raw peeli daal is unacceptable especially when you start eating & realize it was not cooked enough. Also, the flavors and textures vary from location to location the Cal Plaza's daal is thinker other locations watery, same with tamarind and mint sauce. Aren't there recipes with ingredients used with consistency? I hope they stay in business but I wonder if quality control could be better. Overall flavorful fast and unique compared to other fast food offerings. Also a delightful change from every day fast food.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered Tofu masala and samosas to go.
Got back to my office and it was chicken. Not cool At least the samosa were decent
Be the first to ReplyThis was my place to go for fast Indian food.
Service was outstanding, food was very tasty and fulfilling, and they added extra rice without charge. Now service is good, but food quality and portion has declined, and they charge for extra rice. They water down everything to where I have to eat it with a spoon and the rice portion is straight offensive.I can not recommend this place to my friends.
Be the first to ReplySaffron's flavors were on point.
It was nice returning but the portions left a lot to be desired. I had the saag paneer and lamb masala but both were very low compared to pre pandemic times. If not for the portions I would have given 4 or 5 stars.
Be the first to ReplyThe quality and portion isn't the same as pre-pandemic.
It's too bad because it was my place to go for lunch.
