High-end Mexican food, good service
We had the five-course menu, which was pricey but good. Each dish was small but tasty, and the server carefully explained each ingredient. A good experience. Book in advance; we were there on a Monday evening and every seat was full.

We went here after great review in White guide. First we had to pay a deposit which is new to me. But we arrived and got a nice window table. Got service really quick. Had the menu with a drink. First course really good but with a Spicy salsa. Was i bit to Spicy for me. (Swedish)The rest of the courses all had some zing/heat to it. Even the dessert had chili. Guess it is a seasonal menu. As I always do. I rate price to taste and service. Price was OK. Its not super pricy but id say on the high end. So this makes my review much stricter. Price for two with a drink. 1400 dkk. Service was great. Food was really good but with one minus...... Spicy/hot. We had the set menu and I guess it varies over the season. I liked all dishes which was full of flavor. Great mix of textures and beautiful. (Mabey not the tamal 😅 but thats impossible) I like it and we would go here again.

Winner from start to end. Some of the better set dinners mexican style ever. Had a quiet moment on 3 og 5 dishes. An absolute must go...

I had the chance to visit Sanchez Restaurant this last sunday and see them work (from the bar you can look at them working in the kitchen). I saw Rosio Sanchez on a TV show and I was excited to be able to visit. She was working in the kitchen! The food was amazing. I can pretty easily say that it is the best mexican food in Europe. I was twice in Mexico and Mexico City and the food at Sanchez is more than respecting the Mexican traditions and tastes (which is not the case of practically all Mexican restaurants in Europe...). The flavors were amazing. And the waiters extremely nice. Someone here is complaining about prices. You have to understand that you are in Copenhagen, an expensive city. And in fact, compared with what are prices in that city, I think prices at Sanchez were more than reasonable. Again, thank you for this trip to Mexico with your food!!

The dishes seemed simple, but it was clear that a lot of thought went into them. The flavors were superb and the chef is not scared of spice (perfect!). The fried fish taco was perfectly balanced and, frankly, I could have had 4 more. The corn taco wrapped in cabbage was delicious. So was the fried fish taco with freshly-made corn tortillas, a jalapeño mayonnaise and an incredible salsa that really unfolded flavors when paired with the rest of the ingredients. The dessert of the 5-course menu was a delicious horchata gelato. I pretended it to play the role of a palate cleanser for the amazing finale: a mecxian chocolate mousse stuffed guajillo pepper, followed by a drunken churro tart. Absolutely amazing. It shows how Ms Sanchez is mainly a pastry chef and if she were to open a pastry shop, I would be a regular. Overall delicious experience paired with extremely friendly staff. Well worth a visit and the $100 I spent.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, atmosphere, staff and beverages. Pricey.
The food is sophisticated in taste yet at the same time represents simple Mexican inspired dishes. The kitchen seems highly coordinated. The inability of being able to order menu items a la carte is a bit disappointing. The staff is very friendly and the booking process a breeze. They also offer a very good selection of wines and drinks. Their mezcal margarita is a must, even recognized by Michelin. It‘s definitely on the pricey side, but worth a visit nonetheless.
Be the first to ReplyTasty but small portions
Combination of fine dining and fast food, we were seated by the bar which was fine. Food was really tasty, but small dishes and very few dishes to choose between on the meny. Food also served very quickly and the reservation lasted for only an hour. 3 of 5 stars based on value for money with small portions, few dishes on the menu affecting negatively.

Delicious food but does not represent good value for money. In other words, over priced! Charging 50 DKK (£5.50) for what is essentially tap water is a tad shocking. Quite upset by how much this meal cost - 1 shared starter, 2 tacos, 2 very small glasses of wine plus water (see above) £73.00.

I was very much looking forward to this restaurant after so many recommendations. Unfortunately my experience was very underwhelming. The food options were limited and they weren’t even that good. Service was good and sitting by the bar was nice. I would give this a place miss.
Be the first to ReplyGreat restaurant - lively atmosphere
We had the tasting menu, which was delicious. There was a lively atmosphere with very friendly staff. Definitely need to book if you want to go on a Saturday night.
Be the first to ReplyVery different from the taco place
I so wanted to like this restaurant and I had looked forward to comming here. But sometimes you just run in to a restaurant that cooks in a way that just isn't you. And alas this place really wasn't me.

Very boring food for such a high price. Very disappointed. The taste was boring. The service was ok but could have been better.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous food and excellent service
Went here on the recommendation of a friend. It was fabulous. Food is small portions like tapas to share. Service excellent although they are a little sneaky in that they charge you for tap water (served in a bottle) - keep asking you if you want more drinks, removed the water bottle while it was still 1/3 full and said they'd bring another one which they did but it was added to our bill. The food made up for this though!!

Simply amazing! Can't understand how Sanchez has only 3,5/5 stars. We were three guys, and we all loved it to the point, that we ordered more. A bit pricey, but the tastes were amazing, simply amazing

Amazing food, great cocktails and a friendly waiting team that kept me busy chatting away as a solo traveler
Last minute stop before I flew out of copenhagen, and I'm glad I did.
Elderflower ice cream dessert 💯💯💯
I wish there was some more flavor...
This restaurant offers a really cozy vibe and it is located in a very good location for night life.
The service was really nice, although a bit rushed.
The servings are really small, which is understandable for the concept of the restaurant. However, if you're an eater like me and you look for substance, this may not be the place for you.
Also, what we were a bit disappointed with was the lack of flavor of the dishes.
We ordered Totopos and salsas (corn chips with two different salsas) and Guacamole. The first were our favorite, the second a bit tasteless.
To continue we ordered the Tacos de cochintas, which was a bit disappointing as the flavors didn't really come through.
The small size of the dishes and their taste VS the prices made me realize that this is not really a place for me.
Sorry excuse for a menu
Daughter booked a table here as it should have been a great experience.
Now, I know Sanchez worked at Noma, but this was No MA... Get it?
Turned out that we could order appitizers {pricy, but that's OK I guess} or a taco (either pork or Jack fruit)
Or
We could order the fixed menu... If the whole table got it. Now... Two out of five guests were only joining to drink cocktails a P possibly eat a taco... So NOPE! The rest of the guests could not order the fixed menu...
So you got it, we were stuck with apps and a bland (really, no flavor other than the good quality corn soft taco itself)
No alacart options?! We spent way too much for a place that wants to be a Noma.
Btw the tacos... Two tiny bland pork tacos without any salsa or even lime... 130dkk!
Sorry guys, avoid this place
Very Good Food - Service Lacking
Food is very good, but the covid hysteria is getting in the way of good service. It’s a shame, because this restaurant was better last summer.
Be the first to ReplyBehovs! Tired food not worth a visit
We visited the restaurant in 2019, and had a wonderful experience. With that memory in mind we was really looking forward to re-visit. The meny was not a like the à la carte we got in 2019. Talking with the (very friendly) waitress, she explained to us that then have moved the a la carte kitchen to another location and was only serving more simple dishes at Istedgade. Ok, disappointed but simple can be good as well, right? Nope, not here.
We only got the feeling that this concept has grown out of theme, whilst giving good reviews and trying to exploit and get money. Even the Cerveza was luke warm, and that sums the visit up.
We ended up going for tacos at their location in Kodebyen. Even that a disappointement food wise.
Avoid.
