The Hotel Management is not helpful!
The Scarpetta is part of the Fontainebleau Hotel (better known as James Bond 007 - Goldfinger - where the girl was covered in gold in one of the rooms...). Scott Conant and I are friends on Facebook since he is a foodie, too. Since we had no chance to see his restaurants in Arizona, we used the chance to see the only night in Miami Beach and dine there. Our flight arrived that afternoon, and we were jetlagged and tired, and we found out that our clothes became wet during the transport. We checked for the dress code, and for that reason, I asked. The operator refused to connect me to the restaurant. He said that he was the only person who could help. He insisted I come with long pants (which were wet). I cannot move the table booking to later the day without charging the cancelation fee. And Sunday, it was closed. Gladly, I found some pants to bike. I did not care as long as they were long. When we arrived at the hotel, finding the restaurant was a little tricky: no signs. We got a table right at the bar area at the entrance. So we could see that they allowed every other male guest to show up in shorts but me. I wrote later to the hotel, but the management did not react. So it is ok. I stayed in a different hotel in Miami at the same price level as Fontainebleau. But be sure: whenever I am in Miami again: I will never choose this hotel to stay. N.B., the waitress, delivered excellent service, and the chef prepared delicious food. We could not eat more since we were jetlagged. With this gatekeeper at the switchboard (phone and e-mails), they are safe now that I will eat there again.

Excellent ambience for our anniversary dinner, perfect service and amazing cocktails and food. I especially recommend the scallops appetizer, and the bucatini entree. We would definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyBest Italian restaurant in Miami
During our week-long visit to Miami, Florida, my wife and I didn't have an opportunity to dine at every award-winning restaurant. But what are the odds of two of the best restaurants in town being located in the same building? If you have the time, be sure to make reservations at the StripSteak by Michael Mina (steakhouse) and Scarpetta by Scott Conant (Italian) in the Fontainebleau Hotel at 4441 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Leave your flip flops and bathing suits at home. Scarpatta is a AAA Four Diamond Award winning Italian restaurant, a classy fine dining venue with Atlantic Ocean and poolside views surrounded by elegant glass, floor-to-ceiling columns and an enclosed veranda with nautical themes that highlight the dining room and cocktail lounge. Open from 6 to 11 Sunday through Wednesday, 5:3 to 11 on Thursday and 5:30 to midnight on Friday and Saturday, it features a menu of home-made pastas, steaks, seafood and at least one dessert that you simply can't pass up. My wife and I started with seared scallops with potato and pickled mushrooms and an heirloom tomato salad. Branzino was on the menu so you just know where my appetite was headed. I have been addicted to Branzino, a tasty and meaty Mediterranean sea bass, ever since we were introduced at a Sarasota restaurant in 2018. Scarpatta's version was delicious with cauliflower, anchovy and salmoriglio sauce. My wife opted for a bone-in beef filet with celery root, mushrooms and sunflower seeds. For dessert, we shared a large portion of Guava panna cotta with strawberries, toasted almond and St. Germain sorbet. Expensive? Perhaps. But you get what you pay for.

This is the best Italian food ever! Beautifully plated, absolutely delicious foos and impressive wine list! The antipasto of corn polenta with mushrooms was amazing! The creamiest polenta and fabulous mushrooms to mix in. The scallops were perfect, the pastas were amazing. Handmade noodles that tasted like they were rolled out minutes before they were cooked! On the pricey side but we would absolutely come back. Shout out to our server Santiago and the very knowledgeable sommelier.
Be the first to ReplyHigh expectations, low results
We went there with great expectations, but were sadly disappointed. Service was horrible. Our waiter Gustavo talked about himself for 10 minutes, but spent very little time listening to us. He brought 7 of 8 entrees to the table, but never bothered to come back with the eighth. We had to ask the Sommelier to get our last dish. All the pasta was over cooked and $28 for a dish of overcooked spaghetti with a so-so sauce will give you heartburn. The place also looks a bit tired and our table literally flopped up and down if any of us leaned on it. Very poor quality for extremely high prices. Wonโt be back

Our party had a great dinner at Scarpetta. Our server was excellent. The appetizers were good along with the entrees. The bucatini was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyRefined Italian restaurant with posh vibe and unbeatable views.
Scarpetta is a fine dining restaurant serving Italian cuisine located in North Miami Beach.I frequently visit this restaurant. In terms of options, the menu offerings are extensive,. Regarding quality and presentation of food, the restaurant were excellentโฆ Some of the menu items I tried include: Tuna & Foie Gras, Mediterranean Octopus, Burrata, Risotto ai Funghi, Amanti del Mare, and the Bucatini which were all amazing. Everything was cooked to order. Portion size was appropriate for the price point and restaurant style. Customers can expect to pay roughly a hundred per person, including drinks. Normally, when Iโm staying on site, I will eat here and order room service from here at least once. If youโre hungover or just wanting to enjoy a quiet night in the room, the spaghetti is actually a great choice (who does that in Miami? Me lol). But my favorites are definitely the amanti del mare and the risotto. Beverage wise, we tried the Verona, Bari, and the Lavanda 75 which were all amazing. The wine list is also extensive and they know how to make a great martini, which is generally my preference at an Italian restaurant (that and red wine). During this most recent visit, we did make reservations in advance, and it took approximately 0-5 minutes to be seated. Drinks came out fast. Appetizers came out fast. Main courses came out fast. If you are staying onsite, they should be relatively accommodating, but if you are coming to the hotel to eat, you definitely want to make reservations in advance. The serving staff was informed and hospitable. Iโd best describe the atmosphere of the restaurant as being formal and sophisticated. Itโs feels very elegant, which does lend itself to the intended brand identity and cuisine style. The staff provides everything you can expect from a fine dining restaurant and the Fontainebleau brand. Regarding ambiance, the restaurant is dimly lit and the noise level is average. It isn't a good choice for families with small children during the later hours, but it is fine to bring them in for an early dinner. Scale wise, tables are spread out within one dining room, lending itself to the restaurantโs coveted feel. Overall, I would recommend and anticipate coming back again.
Be the first to ReplyNice setting, disappointed food
Ceviche was very good, great selection of wine by the glass, and fantastic bread. Both pasta dishes were over cooked, the chef remade one which was much better the second time. Closer attention to food quality needed. They should also restrict kids from watching iPads on full volume, disturbing others in the restaurant.

My wife and I enjoyed the food and the drinks and would not hesitate to return. The view was fabulous, and the service was outstanding.

What an amazing experience we had at Scarpetta at the Fountainbleau in Miami! Our server Michael was on top of our every need, and Chef Valerio made us feel as if we were home with my grandmother cooking for us. He made sure we wanted for nothing. We both got the Bucatini for dinner, and the authenticity of it was astounding. The homemade pasta melted in my mouth; the sauce neither too acidic nor sweet. The short rib was cooked to perfection! I honestly couldnโt say enough about the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Chef Valerio came to talk to us to see hour our dinner was, and even after we said we couldnโt eat another thing and already said how happy we were, he sent us the most amazing desert on the house. You HAVE to try this restaurant!

Although our waiter was top notch, the support staff was extremely lacking. As this was our 2nd visit to a Fontainebleau Hotel restaurant, that seems to be a common theme. Extremely slow service and very lacking service. Our water glasses were rarely filled and everything is slow paced. The food was average and we accepted multiple suggestions from our waiter. The coffee machine was broken and they were โout ofโ many of the wines on the menu. How does that happen?
Be the first to ReplyScott Conant did not disappoint!
This celebrity chef did not disappoint! Everything was spot on, simple food prepared perfectly. Excellent service as well!

We anticipated going to this highly rated restaurant during our stay at the Fontainebleau. The restaurant was fairly empty at 7:45. We were seated in a back room with views of the hotel pools and the ocean. The view was very nice but the room temperature was very cold. Even though we were one of only two tables seated in this back room, the service was poor. Our server was very inattentive to the needs of the table. Our entrees came out too soon and the wait staff cleared our salad and bread plates before we were finished eating. The spaghetti was good but nothing special. When we were about 3/4 of the way finished with our entree the waiter came to the table to see how our food came out and whether or not we wanted cheese or pepper. Way too late! We will not return to Scarpettaโs on our next trip. For excellent Italian food and service go to Cecconiโs next door.

I've been a big fan of Scott Conant for a while and although I live near NYC, I haven't been to his restaurant. We were staying at The Fountainebleu for business and vacation so when I saw his restaurant was located in the hotel, I made reservations immediately. My husband and I were thinking it wasn't going to live up to the hype, being a celebrity chef and all, but were pleasantly surprised. Our meal was delicious! I had the creamy polenta & mushroom appetizer with the short rib agnolotti as my entree. Both dishes were so delicious, rich in flavor and texture and served beautifully. My husband had the short rib appetizer with the duck & foie gras ravioli which he loved. My husband had 2 wines by the glass which were ok & I had 2 cosmopolitans which were not my favorite. I barely touched the second one which my waiter noticed and took it upon himself to remove from our bill which, we of course, put towards his tip. The restaurant had an elegantly designed nautical theme and the service was very good. I probably won't ever stay at the Fountainebleu again but the next time I'm in Miami I would love to go back to Scarpetta.

While staying at the FontaineBleau we had reservations here for a Friday might. I was simply amazing. The Food and Service was above expectation and Sebastian was one of the best servers I have ever had!

This is one of the biggest gems in all of Miami. We had our opening night welcome dinner for our wedding weekend at Scarpetta and Daniella Fernicola, the restaurant sales manager, was hands down one of the most hospitable, down to earth, accommodating people we talked to during our whole wedding planning process. She went above and beyond anything we could have imagined - everything from tailoring the perfect menu for our party to sending us text messages of the venue space because we couldn't be there in person. This is truly how hospitality is defined. The restaurant is lucky to have her and all around great service. We are in love with the space and highly recommend it to anyone looking to go for a casual bite or host an event!
Be the first to ReplyVery good but not great
Dinner reservations as very good, not outstanding but very good. Ceviche was good but itโs not really ceviche, not much flavor and a fairly small portion. The entrees were all good but again didnโt reach the five star level. Menu is small. Service was very good and the restaurant is very nice. Worth a shot but better places in Miami.

Highly recommend dining at Scarpetta, Everything was amazing! Expect phenomenal service, food and a notable wine list. I had the short rib with risotto appetizer and the fillet.
My date had Chilean Sea Bass. We enjoyed our meals paired with a fine bottle of wine.
Nice surprise
Highly recommend this restaurant. Was worried it might be a tourist trap at the Fountainblue but the service and food were excellent. My wife never finishes a meal and had a clean plate when she was done. Snapper, short rib and salad were fresh and tasty. As was the chocolate dessert. Will come back on our next visit
Be the first to ReplyTerrible experience
Terrible experience, staff extremely rude. Menu is very small and not worth the price. Host who seated us was nasty and awful, he was a man in his 50s with an accent and grey hair. He should be fired immediately. Donโt waste your time here.
