🤢 2/5 - No place in any Michelin guide

This restaurant has no place in any Michelin guide. This is a flawed and mismanaged restaurant. We spent a long weekend in Oslo, and this was supposed to be our one nice dinner out. We were concerned about the bad reviews, but decided to give it a try anyway. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, and there seemed to be a private party in a back room, as well. We waited at the bar for our table, which was fine. The bartender/manager (role unclear, though authoritative) jovially offered cava to everyone waiting, so we felt like this would be a fun evening. We were seated at a tiny 2-top that felt like it was in the middle of a traveled way, and the waitstaff kept bustling around us. Little did we know this would turn out to be a long, hungry dinner. We sat for over 35 minutes before getting our first course. It was a small, but tasty fish. It was very hard to share with 2 people, and ended up being about 3 bites each. Another 20ish minutes passed and we were presented with a scallop dish. 1 scallop per diner. They were good but on a bed of inedibly salty daikon/cucumber salad. But, it was hard to tell because it was so salty. 20 minutes later we had a grilled celeriac course, which was fine at best. Then the “entrecôte,” which, let’s be real, was prime rib. And it was cold. My husband took a photo of me touching it with my knuckle, testing the temperature. It was cold. But we’d been there nearly 2 hours and we were starving, so we said nothing and ate the cold steak. The dessert was pretty good, but by that time I just wanted to eat the ice cream and run away. The service was not good. At one point my husband got up to use the loo (behind a door that was very hard to open), and observed a full restaurant where no one was eating. When there was service, it was uneven. A waiter served the table next to us by reaching directly over/in front of me. (That table also ordered wine and it was a bit of a thing for them to finally get it) There also seemed to be some sort of internal drama among the waitstaff. I don’t care what it was but it made the place seem unnecessarily tense at times. So, I wish this was better. It just wasn’t.
