Great Szechuan Chinese! And they're super friendly.
We recommend eat in or take out

I should have taken a picture before we started, because all we have left is empty plates and bowls. Cozy environment, friendly, attentive staff and scrumptious food. Cucumber salad and pork soup dumplings makes an amazing starter here. The braised pork belly was large enough to feed myself and my husband. If you are catching a concert at Forest Hills Stadium, do yourself a favor and dine here before hand. You'll be happy you did!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was blah.
The service was like they didn't want us there. No ambiance. The scallion pancake was soggy the shrimp. Fried rice was bland no flavor the Kung pow shrimp. Had a couple pieces of hot pepper in it, but was no flavor at all.
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered shrimp fried rice and Kung Pao shrimp.
It was so bland, so tasteless. How is it possible for shrimp friend rice to not have taste. Kung Pao shrimp had way to many dice celery. It had plenty of hot red peppers cooked yet had no real taste. Bland, bland. It is really a watered down version of some kind of Asian food. As an Asian, it was completely not acceptable. Ambiance was good. I liked the light fixtures and painted wall. Service was quick and and polite. But I found wait service to be rather cold and too quick. It was obvious to us that they want us to eat and leave ASAP. Hot green tea had no taste. I was basically just drinking a hot water. Will I go back again? Nope.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my first Yelp review, ever.
The garlic sauce here is perfection, so balanced and nuanced. The scallion pancake with beef was expertly executed: pancake crisp but not leaden and greasy, beef tender and flavorful. Pork Fried Dumplings at their classic best. Simple yet so lovingly executed! The service was warm, and the room charming. What a gem, please don't change!
Be the first to ReplySo delicious! Right amount of spice.
I had the scallion style beef [onions were amazing] and my husband made his own dry pot. He loved the fish balls. Beef scallion pancake and cucumber salad are so good ! They're also very attentive and kind ! The place was clean and family friendly.

Finally, a Chinese food restaurant in Forest Hills that I like. First time we ordered delivery and had chicken with broccoli, garlic beef & kung pao chicken. So good. Second time we tried the garlic beef, spicy wontons & Mapo Tofu. All of it was excellent.

I hate to write a review like this but it's the responsibility of the restaurant to make sure something like this never happens. I ordered my usual chicken and broccoli for delivery. A few bites in, I noticed a couple dead worms (they looked like meal worms) floating in the sauce. I was absolutely disgusted by this. Not only has the food changed over the years, and not for the better, this was the final straw for me. I called the restaurant immediately and they asked for a picture, which I sent. They immediately offered me a refund and explained it was due to bad broccoli. This is simply unacceptable in the restaurant business. I'm writing this review in hopes the owner of the restaurant sees how much has changed in the quality of the food being served here since they first opened and that something has to change. I haven't been back and won't order from here again. Check your food.

I work nearby and I come here once or twice a week for lunch. This place looks like they rotate management and staff. The current manager Mandy is in charge as of Jan, 2024. I ordered beef and broccoli and the meat was sour tasting, disgusting and smelled weird. I also ordered the 4 chicken wings which were very nasty and looked black all inside of it. I asked the waiter to change this to chicken and broccoli. The server Kelly W returns with an attitude - no rice and no fork for the changed order. I had to get up and get someone else's attention for the utensil and rice. After this experience I just asked for my food to go. I went to pay and decided not to leave a tip this time (I always tip and I don't have to). Kelly W the server steps away to assist someone else and I paid on a digital device and walked out. As I'm walking out I felt someone grab my arm and the waiter Kelly W starts yelling loudly in front of other customers YOU DIDN'T TIP ON $21.00. How embarrassing and the nerve of this waiter!! First off why is she putting her hands on me!! I kept calm and told her get your hands off of me and I don't have to tip you! The service was poor and I walked out. I didn't react as poorly as she did and I was in shock. I called the manager Mandy the next day which is today and she had the nerve to say the "CHEF" tasted the meat and nothing was wrong with it. If a customer is telling you the taste is off that means it's off who are you tell someone otherwise. She was rude and dismissive on the phone and kept talking over me, she offered NO refund and was like well we gave you a replacement of the food (which was still nasty) She didn't care that her employee put her hands on me and made a scene. I will NEVER eat there again and I will tell my CEO who eats there frequently along with other employees to never eat there again!! Mandy the manager is a poor manager and kept making excuses for her employees. POOR customer service!! NO one should be grabbing and chasing people for a TIP!! Your establishment is tacky and overrated! As for that server you need to train her properly. TIPS are not mandatory and no one should be tipped for poor service. I didn't eat the replacement food either!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food every time we dine in or take out.
No place serves Szechuan this good anywhere in the neighborhood. We have our favorites but every now and again try something new and they've never disappointed. My favorite restaurant in the neighborhood.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious AND expensive Chinese food.
Got the Garlic Style beef spicy with white rice, a whopping $20.95. Veggie spring rolls, $7.95.Given the price, I expected a dinner size portion, not a lunch special portion.Even though they are somewhat expensive, i'd like to try other menu items, so I'll probably be ordering from here again. They are worthy taste wise!
Be the first to ReplyFood is good, but overpriced with the portion they give you.
Ordered the lamb cumin for $20 and got only a few pieces of lamb. They mix in more onions and spice to try deceive you with the portion.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I get the same thing EVERY SINGLE TIME! I travel from the Bronx every 3 weeks to see my dermatologist which is right up the block and I ALWAYS stop here afterwards and get the Hunan Fish with Tofu and Red Chilis with white rice. To die for - and I'm a foodie so that says a lot. Service is always great and I'm NEVER disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyMy family and I enjoyed the food.
Service was quick. I personally liked the orange chicken I had asked for extra spicy which they accommodated deliciously.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and authentic as it gets for Forest Hills.
The service is attentive. Get the dry pot and try out a few dishes. Don't order American Chinese dishes. Order the stuff that is more Hunan and Sichuan.
Be the first to ReplyPortions are tiny.
The cumin lamb was only half full. The onions were raw. The beef in garlic sauce was also tiny portioned and not a full plate. The Dan dan noodle was a joke. Super small portion for $10 not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyGet the Soup dumplings! Yes.
Michelin guide restaurant in the neighborhood!
Be the first to ReplyI ordered for delivery through their website.
They delivered in less than hour and food was great. I got the spicy hot pot. I got the combination of (Napa, wood ear mushroom, enoki mushroom, potato and fatty beef) I got spicy and it was SPiCY lol

My review is waaaayyy overdue! We walk over here for dinner frequently for excellent Chinese food. Their Soup Dumplings are the best we've ever tasted and a MUST. We also like their Daan Daan Noodles, Edamame, Jumbo Shrimp with Walnuts and Mayonnaise, Cucumber Salad, Crispy Spicy Shredded Beef, and Duck Buns. And we just ordered their Spicy and Regular Egg Drop Soup with Spring Rolls, delivered HOT - we're sick and this food helps us to feel good! Go!

Hoping it was an off day and they had a secondary cook at lunch time. Hot and Sour soup was really poorly made and the cabbage and pork entree was watery and generally weak. This was already a second chance. Not sure if I would try a third time. They opened to such excited reviews and do not seem to have kept up the skill.
