Great restaurant! The service is wonderful, the food is delicious and unique, and the atmosphere is great. The chalets offer a wonderful private and unique experience. The fondue is great and a fun activity to do. And we left feeling stuffed. The prices are reasonable. At about $30-$45 per person.

It's been a couple years since my last visit and I'm still so happy with this restaurant! My friends and I got one of the private "chalets" and it is such a lovely experience. The service was outstanding and everyone LOVED the food. My friend couldn't stop talking about how amazing the croissant waffle was! I had the spaetzle dish and it was so yummy!
Be the first to ReplyThe food, service, and ambiance were amazing! 10/10.
The Raclette experience is worth the trip. The owner and staff are charming, friendly, and helpful. It is a true Swiss experience. Raclette Experience Traditional Swiss Austrian Berliners Bread Basket

Just got back from Stable and it was truly an enjoyable time. We did the Raclette Experience, which requires calling ahead for, and it was pretty good; consisting of the cheese, potatoes, cornichons, and two types of onions. Admittedly, we did feel like it could have come with charcuterie (which is on the menu separately). But we were quickly filled with the cheese and potatoes and there wasn't much to complain about. For drinks we did the hot non-alcoholic cider and another non-alcoholic beverage, both were equally delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient and the ambiance is quaint; although we were seated more towards the entrance and didn't get a full view of the entire space. Definitely plan to scope out the full interior a bit more next time as I plan to return, it's certainly a cozy and inviting atmosphere; perfect for winter!

This is one of the places that I recently came upon and loved it the first time we went there. It is a small restaurant in the H street corridor with a more European menu and vibe. I believe it is very much Swiss cuisine and other European countries. We went there on a Saturday. We had a reservation and the restaurant seemed to be full. It is a very chill environment and the staff don't rush you at all. In the menu they had a cheese fondue that was winking at us but we decided to go with something else for now. We got salmon salad and eggs Benedict. Both of them are classic and they both were good. I would say what makes this place great is the sweets that they sell and the hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was mild and not super sweet. We had a good experience and will go here again to try other foods.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a place we just keep keep keep going back to.
One of my absolute favorites in DC. I've never had a visit where I wasn't visited by one or both of the owners and their whole staff is wonderful. The cocktails and food are wonderful, and the prices for what you get are reasonable. When the venison is on the menu I'd be hard pressed for a meal I'd rather have in this city, and don't even get me started on all the ways they will deliver melted cheese. The chalets are so cute and special, but all of the tables are great. I think I visited for the first time in 2019 and am so happy being a many time repeat customer.

Service was great, super attentive and friendly people working there. Food and cocktails were also tasty and unique. Definitely a great place to stop by!

Stable DC is the place to go when you are craving ooey gooey cheese fondue. My family and I recently dined there. We enjoyed sitting in an adorable mini chalet with curtains you could pull closed if you wanted privacy. The service was friendly and extremely helpful. We devoured the traditional cheese fondue and added sliced apples, salad and potatoes to the bread that comes with it. Do not be fooled. The fondue is totally a meal within itself. You won't leave hungry I promise you. For those not interested in cheese, Stable DC has other items on the menu to choose from, but it's the fondue that seems to keep customers coming back for more. My family definitely will be. Hope to see you there!
Be the first to ReplyHere for a birthday.
Food was good. I loved the branzino. Fondu was great. Good wine. The passion fruit drink was decent but I'd skip it next time. This place is great for group dinners. Servers were great. I'd come again. Like I didn't love it...but I liked it.
Be the first to ReplyWe went on my birthday & had a great time.
Their cheese fondue is very good! We were very full from their fondue & desserts! Will be back soon! Their workers were very sweet. I also enjoyed their desserts.

What a restaurant! We found this place randomly along the H Street corridor, and the food and drinks were fantastic It's got tons of Swiss ambiance and flavor, and they deliver on that 100% in their cuisine. I highly recommend the lamb shank and the cocktails

Took the streetcar north of Union Station for free to the restaurant. Reserved a chalet room. The restaurant ambiance is wonderful. All the staff on the way to our table greeted us with genuine smiles and greetings. Server checked on us often. The fondue was the best flavor I have ever had. We added salad, apples and potatoes. Tried the spatzl. It was tasty. Hot mulled wine to top it off. Nostalgic for my in Switzerland, I enjoyed it very much.

I was so delighted by Stable's Raclette experience, I would recommend it to everyone! First, my group of four was placed in our own "chalet" with the raclette grill in the center that made it easy for conversation and passing around food. Second, we were all served a fresh simple salad (the dressing had a little peppery kick to it) and the wines we ordered (thank you to our server for allowing us to sample them first!). And third, it was raclette time - they brought out a huge plate of individual slices of raclette cheese to melt in the grill, a large bag of boiled potatoes, pickled onions, and pickles. Then we got to work. The raclette cheese was delicious on everything (potatoes, bread, dried beef). We were so full at the end we literally didn't need to order anything else! Pro tip - cut the potatoes before putting them on the grill, they'll cook faster. It was such an authentic, cool experience that I'd highly recommend.

I came here on Saturday night for a double dateThey offered patio heats, since the weather is not too cold, we decided to stay out.The service is good, foods are OK nothing special. It's a little pricey for this kind of food, but it's in DC.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice place.
Would recommend the Belper Knolle fondue and the Biene Maja drink. Service was great. We sat outside in February and they had nice heat lamps and provided blankets. Would definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyYesterday, my friends and I had lunch at the restaurant.
We had waiter, K'Von A. We came in with an extra person and the restaurant accommodated them at the table. We were being introduced to a Swiss dining experience by our Swiss friend and were told we had to order Swiss food by the friend. We ordered 4 pulled duck leg sandwiches with apple slaw/mayo and salad. And, one dish was sausage, potatoes, and cheese. And, we ordered desserts to eat in and several to take out. Our dining experience was incredible with the excellent service, delicious food, and wonderful atmosphere. And, yes we are difficult people to wait on but our waiter got passed all that and did a professional job serving us. I definitely recommend this restaurant to all.

This is not a review of any sit down meal but went in and grabbed a couple pastries, average pricing and average taste to be honest, wouldn't be in a rush to go back but everything was fine.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome food and experience.
I went with my husband and two young kids and we sat in a chalet. We ordered fondue, wings, deconstructed chicken pot pie, and salad. Everybody loved the food and ambience.

We had a lovely experience here! For five people at brunch we did the the call ahead raclette service. Make sure you call ahead at least 24 hours in advance. We called Friday evening for Sunday afternoon. The raclette service was completely worth it. Each person is $35 for unlimited cheese and bread. The spread also includes vinegar onion salad (delicious), pickled pearl onions, cornichons, and a huge bag of cooked baby potatoes. They provide 8 slices of raclette for each guest and offer unlimited refills. Out of a group of five we were stuffed after the first offer. They give you so much, including a first corse salad. We only finished the cheese and salad it was so generous! The raclette service and the $25 mimosa bottle are totally worth the prize.
Be the first to ReplyMeh. If you are looking for ok fondue at high prices
Meh. If you are looking for ok fondue at high prices sitting outside in the cold in front of heaters, this is your place. The fondue for two was good, but quite small for the price. And it only comes with bread, boiled potatoes and Cornichons so we ended up leaving not full. My daughters ordered only appetizers, since - although we called in advance - they had no Raclette. Would you not want to stock up on Raclette if you brand yourself as a Swiss restaurant and Raclette is your signature dish? The Glühwein was average at best, and expensive at USD 12. We walked away cold and disappointed. Not good value for money.

Great food, great service, and a cute little spot! We happened to go on a day they were celebrating International Swiss Day, and were quickly seated at the bar. Ordered the Fairy Milk, which they kindly added a little cocoa powder too, while my friend got an elderflower spritz like drink. Both drinks were great! Split food, and ordered the raclette (the plate version), which came with the cheese over baby potatoes and pickles. Split a quiche, which had a crispy top and was EXTREMELY CHEESY, I normally don't enjoy just cheese quiches but this was amazing. The salad that came with was well seasoned. We also added on a pretzel and a side of bratwurst, which they were kind enough to accommodate! When we walked in, we were immediately enticed by the pastries. The berliners did not disappoint. We got one cream and praline one and one Nutella. The cream was very custardy while the Nutella filling was light and fluffy would highly recommend both. Overall, the food did not disappoint and the service was superb. Prices were also extremely reasonable. Would definitely come back to try the Raclette with a party of 4

Outstanding brunch at Stable DC! Walking into the restaurant you get welcomed by the mesmerizing smell and beauty of the freshly baked breads and pastries. Very friendly staff that was on top of their game. The food and drinks were simply to die for. Top quality ingredients prepared to perfection. Will be back next week

Be the first to ReplyIf you are a gin connoisseur you have to stop here.
They infuse their own gin somewhere in there. Has to be a secret door in the back. If you get hungry get the wings and try not to fall in love with the sauce.
