... Everything was delicious and served fresh and hot... they spoiled us with giving us impeccable service for me and my boyfriend anniversary. Highly recommended everything that we have ordered you won't regret it....The dessert was delicious too
Be the first to ReplyHad a fantastic dinner here while visiting Chicago.
Great location. Plenty of shops, bars, and other places within walking distance. Came in for dinner with my friends. Inside is a little dim but stylish. Spacing is a bit tight. Food was delicious! The crispy shrimp deviled eggs and pork belly are great appetizers. I got the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. Tender and juicy inside, a nice sear on the outside. Can't go wrong with the au gratin potatoes. Cocktails were delicious too. We racked up that bill lol but it was worth it. Service was amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. Reservations definitely recommended but were easy to make on their website. There's street parking or garages within a block or two.

Saturday evening at steak 48 was truly a delight being accommodated with a last-minute reservation and then being greeted by Walker our server who clearly knew the menu inside and out. We had a wonderful evening. Drinks was phenomenal atmosphere really made it a memorable night to celebrate my niece and sister birthday. Thank you again steak 48.
Be the first to ReplyI was not impressed at all by this place.
..I was a little confused about this place because I didn't smell any aroma or indication of the food being freshly cooked but then again I can be wrong! Steak was sent back 3 times...I did not like the service or food! My potatoes looked like a brick with cheese one top. Another mediocre high priced steakhouse with below average food and wanna be top notched service...

Be the first to ReplyOkay this was actually the best meal of my life.
The steak was so incredibly tender and flavorful. The mac & cheese was the best I've had in Chicago. The calamari was soooo crispy and the cocktail sauce and green onion aioli are to die for. I'm typing this as I'm eating leftovers the next day and it's STILL so delicious. The service is top notch. Food is unreal. EAT HERE!!

What A Culinary Delight! We recently had the pleasure of dining at Steak 48, it was an experience that left a lasting impression. This upscale steakhouse showcases an ambiance that effortlessly combines elegance and modernity, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere immediately puts you at ease. The presentation of the dish was a work of art. The ribeye arrived on a pristine plate, expertly seared with tantalizing grill marks. Next to it, a generous dollop of the buttermilk whipped potatoes adorned with a sprinkle of fresh herbs, enticing us even before we took the first bite. The bone-in ribeye was a true carnivore's dream come to life. Cooked to a perfect medium, the steak had a delightful sear on the outside, locking in all the natural juices to create a tender and succulent center. Each mouthful was a burst of rich, beefy flavors that left me in awe. Accompanying the glorious ribeye were the Buttermilk whipped potatoes. A humble side dish, yet one that elevated the entire meal to another level. Creamy and velvety, the potatoes were a delightful combination of smooth texture and rich taste. The infusion of butter added a touch of indulgence. The flavors and textures harmonized beautifully. Each bite of steak paired with a spoonful of the heavenly potatoes was a symphony of taste that made us pause and savor the moment. Towards the end of our dinner, Our server approached our table with a dazzling dessert that left us amazed. The Ultimate Warm Vanilla Caramel Cake was a dessert dream come true that will leave you utterly enchanted. Furthermore,The Mini Beignet Tree was a delightful and visually stunning dessert that promises to whisk you away to a world of indulgence and bliss. As it arrives at your table, you'll be captivated by the sight of a miniature tree adorned with an array of tempting, golden-brown beignets. The desserts were simply divine, and we couldn't stop raving about it. I cannot praise Steak 48 enough for creating a dining experience that will forever be etched in our memories. From the delectable steaks to the warm and attentive service, it was an evening filled with culinary delights. Thank you, to our server, for going the extra mile. We look forward to returning to relive this exceptional experience once again. It made us feel like VIPs.

I went with a group of coworkers at the request of one of them who said it's her favorite steakhouse. The decor is cool and everything we had was amazing! I had the stone fruit martini which I loved. The bread to start was delish and my favorite starters were the crispy shrimp and beet salad. I had the petite filet which didn't seem so petite! My favorite side was the corn creme brรปlรฉe. We also had the red velvet bread pudding and it was to die for! We were celebrating a work anniversary and they brought us a free dessert of beignets. Our server Allie couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. We were all so full and happy when we left!
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance and atmosphere was very nice and upscale but
The ambiance and atmosphere was very nice and upscale but the service was subpar. They offered to pack our food to go, which was expected for a place this nice, but when we got home we realized that they forgot to pack one of our side dishes that we barely touched. It's frustrating to pay for such expensive (and tbh overpriced) sides and you don't even get to eat them. In addition, we were there celebrating multiple birthdays and after dinner the waiter showed up with multiple desserts but he didn't even allow us to pick the ones we wanted. To me that's not good service if you don't take into consideration the preferences of the clients. The booths are also quite low and difficult to get in and out of so keep that in mind. Also the waiter did not explain their steak doneness levels very well so he talked us into ordering our steaks more well done than we typically order because he said they cook their steak differently than other places. Well, when the steaks arrived they were cooked more than we expected based on our waiters explanation. Overall it was a disappointing experience.

Service was a bit slow - 30 minutes to get drinks and 45 to put our food order in. The food was just okay for the price. Server was very nice though.

Being from Texas, I was not expecting this to be as good as it was. The steak was fantastic, excellent service along with a vast menu with several options of drinks and appetizers.
Be the first to ReplyI had an amazing time.
Why did I remove a star? The only reason is that the cook complained about my allergies. I'm allergic to shrimp, lobster, butter and crab. I didn't order anything with those items in it but the free bread has butter. He came out to lecture me about my allergies being too much. This is not something I expected from a nice restaurant. The food was actually very good and the drinks were as well. All of their sides were excellent. The sweet potatoes are dessert. Don't order them for a side they are sweet enough to be a dessert. I was surprised they sold sweet potatoes so well seasoned. :-) I said what I said but they were of course yummy. The steaks were cooked nicely. The drinks were excellent and giving us the shaker with a little extra in it made our day. We were celebrating a birthday. The handwritten card on the table, and the private booth made us feel cared for. I also enjoyed a view of the kitchen. The team members are all excellent. Considering I insisted on going out without my hearing aids they went above and beyond to assist me when I couldn't hear well to figure things out. This is definitely a safe space for the hard of hearing community to have a nice dinner.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely hands down the best restaurant my husband and I
Absolutely hands down the best restaurant my husband and I have ever been to. From the food to the service, everything was absolutely amazing. It my husband's and I first time and we were both just blown away by everything. We came for my husbands birthday and when we sat, they had a birthday card waiting for him. The person who sat us, asked if we would like to change the linen from white to black (which I have never been asked before). Our server Raul came to the time right away and greeted us with the most welcoming feeling. We started off with bread and cocktails. Both which were so good. We wanted to try a bit of everything so for appetizers we got half orders of the meatballs and pork belly (loved that they gave you options for half orders, makes it a better opportunity to try more menu items). Both were to die for. Then we split the cesar salad, and let me you, wow. They aren't lying when they say, once you have it with a poached egg, you'll never go back! For our meal we split the bone in ribeye with truffle butter and the crispy shrimp, and we got the Mac and cheese, au gratin potatoes, mushrooms, and corn crรจme brรปlรฉe for our sides. The food comes out with a sizzling plate that is laid in front of you and Raul served all the sides to us (You can tell just how much he enjoys working there with the sound effects he gives while serving, loved it!) he then put them on the table and then laid out the huge plate of steak, sliced and sitting in juice. Everything looked absolutely mouthwatering. And our first bite was an explosion of flavors. Enjoyed absolutely every bite! After we were done, Raul brought warm hand towels that were lavender scented! In my reservation I already had put what dessert I wanted for my husbands birthday and I loved that as soon as we were ready for dessert, they had brought it out with happy birthday written on the plate! We couldn't have had a better experience or better service!

He kept everyone calm and informed. Making the experience even better. We got the bone-in ribeye, corn, whipped potatoes and macaroni is. All of it was delish and service was on top of it.
Be the first to ReplyThis was literally the most phenomenal meal I've had inside
This was literally the most phenomenal meal I've had inside the US. Tomahawk Ribeye and seafood mashed potatoes (both specials, the latter packed with crab and shrimp, the former nuked with blue cheese) were the best I've ever had. The twin lobster tails were perfection and the butter had a slight lemon flavor and maybe some white wine-it couldn't have been better. Dessert was a chocolate bomb and it was light and not too sweet. I had nightmares of a previous incarnation at a different steak house years ago and was delighted it was the complete opposite of that dud. The perfect ending. Service was A plus and the ambiance was also wonderful. We did have the private room with the glass wall facing the kitchen which was pure entertainment. Not an minor point--the restrooms were clean and well lit. "Rock star" may be overused, but definitely not when it comes to Steak 48. The meal was so good I decided to end it by proposing to my girlfriend. With such epicurean delights, how could she say no?
Be the first to ReplyVisited Steak 48 as a pre-Valentines Day meal.
Reservation was booked on opentable. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server started us off with table bread. It is a garlic Parmesan pull apart bread. This bread is full of favor, flaky and moist. We ordered the road island calamari and shrimp as an appetizer. This dish had a nice fried batter on it and a hint of spice. Main courses included white fish with Alaskan King Crab and the Bone in Ribeye. The fish was a thick peace of fish cooked in a flavorful butter wine sauce with sweet crab meat. The ribeye although tender and prepared well lacked in flavor. We ordered a truffle butter as an accompaniment that helped to enhance the flavor. Our sides included the Brussel sprouts and the au gratin potatoes. The Brussel sprouts were good and they do come with bacon and the potatoes had a nice cheese topping but were a bit dry. Some experiences we could of done without were, the waiter dropping some of the Brussel sprouts in my lap when serving them and one of the clean up attendees dropping some dishes from another table while cleaning and leading a butter knife to fly in the direction of our table. I gave the restaurant four stars for the service, options of food and taste and the portions are large.

My father and I dined at Steak 48 in celebration of his 65th birthday. The hosts immediately greeted my father with "Happy Birthday" upon arrival, and we were seated promptly. A birthday card awaited my father at our table, which was a thoughtful touch. Our server was quite knowledgeable about the menu, and he was extremely attentive. My father and I shared the most delicious rolls we had ever had. My dad ordered the Tomahawk Berkshire pork chops, Caesar salad, and Praline sweet potato. I ordered the Praline sweet potato without pecans, crispy shrimp, and corn crรจme brรปlรฉe (which we shared). We both agreed that our meal at Steak 48 was the best meal we had ever had. My father was also given a slice of a rich chocolate cake, which was delicious. I took some red velvet bread pudding and complimentary chocolate chip cookies home to my children, which they loved. Steak 48 is now our new "special occasion" spot!

To start our waiter was on his game and knew exactly what to recommend! The oysters were delicious!!.. regret not ordering more they were so good! Bone in filet mignon melts in your mouth! We enjoyed everything!!
Be the first to ReplyWe decided to try Steak 48 for our anniversary.
I'm glad we did because it was everything I didn't know I needed. They do start you out with some fresh baked bread that I could have ate that the whole night. So worth it.I ordered the Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs, The Chicken Fried Lobster Tails, The Alaskan King Crab & Rock Shrimp Mac & Cheese and I had the Red Velvet Bread Pudding. The Mister had a Medium Well Regular NY Strip Steak, Corn Crรจme Brulee, and the Praline Sweet Potatoes. Everything tasted amazing and came out exactly how we ordered. They do require a certain amount per person and there is a dress code but it again was well worth it.Great restaurant and great staff I will definitely be back again!
Be the first to ReplyGreat anniversary dinner with my wife.
Food was outstanding and service was great! I got the filet with seemed a lot bigger than what was listed on the menu and it was probably the best steak I've eaten. My wife got the meatloaf which was also very good!
