Sullivan's Steakhouse Tucson Reviews from The Last Year
Ordered thru ubereats.
. Herb chicken raw in center. French dip dry because only minimal au jus. Too expensive for easily managed problems. Disappointed.

From the knockout martini to the wagyu I'm taking a pitstop at the cheesesteak eggrolls you're in for a treat!
If you want the proper Old Fashioned experience, go see
If you want the proper Old Fashioned experience, go see Erik at the bar at Sullivans Steakhouse on River and order the Rosemary and Orange Old Fashioned.. Firstly, he serves your drink with one square ice cube. The only way it should be served. Then, he lights the rosemary and serves your old fashioned in a smoker box. It is an experience! And the food ain't bad either

Little late to leaving this review, but we dined here for our anniversary dinner and can't say enough great things! Food was delicious and our Server Erik went above and beyond. We sat on the patio where there was plenty of seating and light music. We started with a Caesar salad and lobster bisque which we both enjoyed and had herb chicken and filet for our mains. The herb chicken was very flavorful and juicy. My filet was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were a great choice as well. We ended with a beautifully decorated dessert of Key lime pie and Cheesecake. We both left stuffed and happy!

We went there last night for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We spent several hundred dollars including a nice bottle of wine. Waitress took our entire order at once, which included appetizers, salads and steak. They practically delivered all together. I asked them to hold off a bit when salads showed up on top of appetizers. They must have had the steaks ready to serve already and somehow kept them warm. We they did arrive they were so dried out they were not very good, so chewy. Will not go back, I'm guessing they try to turn their tables every half an hour!
We had a special occasion to celebrate and decided to try
We had a special occasion to celebrate and decided to try an upscale restaurant. Overall, the cost of everything compared to the quality of the food is not worth it. It isn't the best steak I've had in Tucson. My favorite dishes were the cheesesteak eggrolls, the peanut butter pie, and the mac & cheese. You think going to a steakhouse your favorite thing would be the steak. We spent around $300 for two people. This included two alcoholic drinks, two appetizers, two steaks and two sides and a dessert. Our server Amber was very nice and courteous. She was dealing with a lot of tables. We also overheard that six people had called out so she was overloaded. When we first walked in the hostess also seemed overwhelmed, and it took a while for us to be sat, but this could be due to the servers calling out. The ambience of the restaurant is low, lighting, linen table, class, and leather booths. People were dressed and a mixed sort of way some more dressy than others. We saw some people in jeans and a nice shirt. I would say dress in the middle. It also looked like the restaurant could use some upkeep. The tables were wobbly the bathrooms rundown.
Was hoping for a good dinner in Tuscon.
Checked out this steakhouse, started with some egg rolls. Meat was dry. Then had a salad, asked if they had a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. And they brought me just the vinegar. So 0-2. Ordered a ribeye with some stuffed shrimp and brussel spouts. The steak was cooked right in the middle. But burnt on the outside. Every bite had a burnt taste. The stuffed shrimp was cold and the Brussels sprouts were just ok but probably the best of the meal. Also, ordered a few glasses of red wine, real warm. For what I paid, pretty disappointed.
If I could give 6 stars I would.
Recently, I hosted a 18-member family event in Sullivan's "library." We had the well-appointed room to ourselves, which was important because our family included 5 happily active kids. The Sullivan service and wait staff couldn't have been more professional and patient with the little ones, especially once the family began to play "dance freeze" and musical chairs while the staff were serving dessert! The food was well-prepared and we were all served hot meals within moments of each other. The portion size was perfect even for my family members with the biggest appetites. The key lime pie was so good my brother ordered one to take home! I have only one minor suggestion: provide a dimmable lighting feature in the library. For an afternoon event we could have used brighter light commensurate with the mood. Finally, a shout out to Robert West, Sullivan's event manager. He and his staff delivered on the promised event. Well done, all!
Excellent and attentive service.
Quality steaks and seafood. Good wine and cocktail menu. Beef Wellington bites- something I've not had before and it was delicious . The ribeye was cooked as requested. Several options to dress up your steak. Pricey and everything is a la cart. Parking can be a bit tricky during prime dinner hours.
we've eaten here in 2016-2017 when we first lived in Tucson.
We moved back to Tucson/Marana a year and a half ago and have been there 4 times; 2 celebrating with friends and 2 just to go to a nice steakhouse. the last 3 times, after being seated to our table, we waited at least 10 minutes before anybody came to the table to even offer water. Same thing this last visit, I actually had to stop someone to ask for water. Waiting longer, we then had to ask for a waiter/waitress to take our order, that was about 15 minutes into being seated. Management did come out and cover our drinks and dessert. Kindly over the food is good, I like my steak extremely well done with no pink they always manage to be able to cook it without making it tough and chewy, the flavoring of everything is done very well. We keep going back because the food is good but I'm not sure what the deal is why we have to wait so long to get anybody to come to our table to serve drinks or take our order. It makes us think it's just us. although the last time we were there with friends, it still happened. Do we recommend it for the food, yes, it is very good, but it is very pricey, so much so that if I weighed it against other steakhouses food, Saltgrass steakhouse is better as far as flavor of the steak and actually less costly. i wish there was a Saltgrass in Arizona! overall the Food is good: 5, Service: 3 for making us wait till we Asked for service the last 3 visits, Ambiance: 5.
Went a few weeks ago for husbands birthday.
Had never been before. This will be a mixed review Ambiance - needs face lift. Reminded me of old style las Vegas restaurant- just missing Frank Sinatra Hostesses were adorable Server (sadly can't remember his name) was incredibly knowledgeable Starter bread was tough though the Black Sea salt butter was lovely Oysters were good and the bread that came with was fresh and hot Salad croutons nearly broke my tooth-inedible Filet mignons were good but had to send mine back...way too rare New general mgr introduced himself and said they are working on rebuilding their reputation Personally I think this restaurant could be good but need better cooks/chef, better quality control Prices were too high -even for a Steak house
Absolutely delicious lunch.
Nico was very attentive and a great server. The knockout is also out of this world. Highly recommend!!
Nico K.
is the best! He was welcoming and efficient! my cup was NEVER empty and my heart was warm. Thank you, Nico! our friend reunion was the BEST!
Had dinner there for the first time in a long time.
The food and the service was exceptional. Luis was our waiter and was extremely attentive and proactive. I can't say enough great things about him. Everything from top to bottom was so good, and it was a great atmosphere in which to celebrate our special occasion. The new manager spoke to us and said they are really trying to improve the dining experience, and they have! Highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't been there in a while!
What a disappointment.
Sullivan's has a reputation for being a great steakhouse despite being a chain. But unlike Fleming's - where the food and service is always consistently great no matter where you are - Sullivan's in Tucson doesn't measure up to their other locations. First, the bar service. On a not too busy Tuesday evening we sat in the bar and with two bartenders working it still took a couple of minutes before anyone offered service. It went downhill from there. I ordered a "classic" old fashioned - NOT the one off their cocktail menu. A classic means - and ANY decent bartender knows this - made the original (and really only) way an old fashioned should ever be made. Bourbon, bitters, some type of sugar, and an orange twist. Preferably in a glass with a single large whiskey rock. And no cherry anywhere. Cherries don't go in old fashioneds. This one came with enough muddled fruit inside to make a salad and when I asked it to be remade - explaining to the bartender (!!!) how to make one, he still brought it back with an orange wedge crammed into the glass. But I let it go because a lot of younger, less experienced bartenders think an old fashioned is made the "sports bar" way - with cherry and muddled orange, etc. It is not. My wife ordered a drink off the cocktail menu; it is fine. No problems there. Later we had to flag the bartenders down to place our food order - apparently despite saying we were there for dinner and asking for menus they thought we were only having drinks. I ordered a medium rare filet and my wife ordered soup and salad. We had a side of lobster garlic mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The filet was cooked medium - no red or pink anywhere. The mashed potatoes arrived iced cold. I don't mean not hot, I mean COLD. Like they'd be in a fridge. The Brussels sprouts were oily and lacked any sort of flavor. We sent the potatoes back as I suffered through my meat. The new lobster garlic mashed potatoes were the exact same order - just tossed into a microwave for probably 30 seconds. We know because of an indent we made in them. They were not hot. They were 30 seconds less cold than before. This is Applebees level service. Applebees on a bad night. At the end of this ordeal we had to again flag down a bartender just to get our bill. And get this - we were sitting AT THE BAR. They were literally walking back and forth two feet from us. We will never return to Sullivan's in Tucson.
My husband and I have been here 2 times and have been
My husband and I have been here 2 times and have been disappointed in the steaks each time. Service was decent, we were served pretty quickly but the food was mediocre. The items I do recommend however, are the cheesesteak rolls.
Please read comments
Wish I had read the reviews here before going. Every negative stated is true! We waited over one and half hours to get our food after we ordered. They were just two filets and a side of potatoes -- not a hard order. Granted it was Christmas Day but they need to account for that and take fewer reservations if necessary. It was our first (and last) time there. The ledge by our booth was dirty. In fact the diner behind us took a picture. The hostesses had no personality and never cracked a smile. We expect more from an upscale steak house. Please read these comments before you go. In fact, the management needs to read these comments and act on them.
Put this restaurant our of its misery and shut it down
We went here for Christmas. After sitting for an hour and a half, our main dish was no where in sight. I asked the waitress about our order and she just offered us more bread. She then sent the manager and the first thing she said was "Do you want me to cancel your order as it's going to be a while." I asked her to find out how long. She came back and said it would be another 45 minutes and repeated "Do you want me to cancel your order." This was our Christmas dinner! This restaurant is a joke and has no business being a restaurant as they cannot figure out how to serve food. Just because they are open for Christmas DON'T GO THERE! We ended up leaving with no Christmas dinner and lots of wasted time.
Thanksgiving Dinner at Sullivans Ok but Falls Short
I love the ambiance of this restaurant, a classic steak house with white table clothes...so impressive. We had the prix menu on Thanksgiving. Cocktails were good. Lobster Bisque was flavorful, but had no lobster. Sides and portion sizes were good. Turkey was over salted and somewhat dry. Entrees for everyone at our table were missing gravy and cranberry and wait service was friendly and could have been more attentive. Wine ordered wasn't what was served as we found out later. A cheaper Mer Soliel was served, not the reserve advertised and ordered.
Changing menu a worthwhile experience
Having been here many time before, I was pleased to see they have revised their menu. They added an appetizer that I would highly recommend - The Shanghai Calamari. It is wonderful. Yes, our steaks were great as was the service from Josh. The new "Sure Thing" price fixed menu was a great deal. But the highlight was the calamari. Try it!
Great food…terrible service
We have been coming here for the last two years and have probably spent upwards of $10,000. The food and drinks are always delicious (except for the calamari and the “lobster” mac n cheese- calamari is low grade all-rings frozen calamari, the lobster mac n cheese has a pitiful amount of lobster…not worth it at all). We keep coming back because they have gift cards at Costco for 25-30% off…otherwise we would never pay full price here. Hands down the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a “fine” dining/upscale steakhouse or anyplace at this price point. I understand it’s Tucson and the talent pool is limited, but WOW…pathetic service (except for Luis- he’s amazing). They’re not attentive, they’re not warm and welcoming, they don’t try and make you feel special, we’ve had to wait over an hour before for our food (1hr from the time we ordered) and the server didn’t even bother letting us know what the hold up was. The managers are really nice but I would be ashamed of the quality of service from the servers and bussers. ***Except for Luis*** he is an amazing server and you need to request him if you can. If they get rid of Luis, all hope is lost. Luis, the server needs a raise. He’s amazing.
Not just steak, fabulous seafood!
This place is amazing! It was the best seafood I have had in Arizona since moving here 10 months ago! The calamari appetizer was huge and so tender. The sea scallops were nice and fresh and cooked just right! The waiter, Mathew was knowledge, professional and extremely competent. We will definitely come back again!

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
