One of the best omakase experiences in NYC! I've been to all the Michelin-starred sushi experiences here. This is on par!

Amazing! The owner and chef, along with his whole staff was very courteous and warm. The place is clean. And most importantly the food was fresh and delicious! His choices were right on. The portions were perfect.

A truly special experience here as I was treated by a good friend to an omakase! We shared a bottle of sake in their fun glasses (I won't ruin the surprise), and ate so much amazing fish. Each dish was prepared by the chef who paced our meals well. The attention to detail was superb as he even placed the sushi at a different angle for my friend who was eating left handed. They show you photos of the fish you are eating (which was cute) and the service was immaculate.Lovely spot and would recommend for delicious omakase!
Be the first to ReplyVery, very, very delicious omakase.
Put yourself in their hands, brace your credit card or wallet for impact, for that will be considerable, but dare say it's worth a splurge as it's special and unique, at least in this part of the world.
Be the first to ReplyAn absolutely incredible experience.
Every piece was incredible; I especially loved the notes of citrus Chef Teru added to each piece. Chef Teru and the waitresses gave us so much insight into each of the pieces and were all so kind to us throughout the night. Would highly recommend to anyone who would want an authentic and incredible omakase experience.

Sushi Teru, the finest omakase opened two years ago during pandemic so it's still sort of hidden yet I wanted to go and give it a try as an omakase lover. Just like the way I appreciate sushi and sashimi, the omakase was in edomae style of authentic and traditional practice. Chef Teru explained each course by himself with the sincere hospitality throughout the course. Rare and fine cuts directly from Japan. Best nights to dine here are certainly Tuesdays and Wednesdays as most fishes arrive oh Tuesday and Chef Teru has little more room to engage with the diners. Definitely coming back with my omakase advocate friends! Thanks Chef Teru!

Overpriced for low quality sushi, lacked flavor and it tastes like it's been defrosted. Omakase that had nothing special in its menu. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and I felt embarrassed for taking her because it was one of the worst omakase's we've ever had. Wouldn't come back here.

Not the type to leave a review so you know I'm being honest lol! This place was AMAZING...If the price was about half the cost. Me and my wife went here for a date, I saw the "$$$$" so I knew what I was walking into. But it was roughly $800 for the omakase set and (1) bottle of sake. We both left hungry which was also very disappointing. If you want to spend a lot of money for food come here. The three stars I'm giving are for the chefs that worked the sushi bar. Absolutely AMAZING, the chefs are the only reason I would ever come back to this place. Incredibly hospitable, and not to mention the servers were also incredibly helpful. But, for $800. Just NO.

A most pleasurable meal- it's been a month since my trip and i can't wait to come back here. I had the omakase with i think 2 appetizers and a couple of add on sushi at the end. It was the best sushi everything was made perfectly from the taste, excellent freshness, temperature, the rice. everything was on point . The servers and the chef will make you feel like royalty. I said before i went home last month that i don't even want to eat california sushi when i go back home and i still don't want to. lol.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant reminded me of the documentary on Netflix
This restaurant reminded me of the documentary on Netflix (that admittedly I never saw), about the sushi restaurant in Japan with just a few seats and a menu that changes based on the fishes of the day. The Hudson space is gorgeous, and though small, it has a counter for about 10 - 12 people plus a few two-top tables. We had a private dinner at the counter where two sushi chef geniuses brought us course after course of th freshest fish flown in that morning from Japan. There was baby eel, barracuda, tuna, baby squid, yellowtail fish and so much more. Every dish was better than the one before. Simple, but complex all at the same time. And the meal was finished with a beautiful sweet slice of melon. This is definitely an experience that will impress!

I came here again with many of my coworkers, and we had an incredible experience, with both the freshness of fish, quality of service, and special ambiance. For Yelpers out there, I'm not sure where two negative reviews in the past 6 months came from. I have no affiliation with Sushi Teru but my experiences have been the exact opposite of those reviews, and I think the other top reviews seem to confirm this. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyExpensive and not worth it.
Quality of tuna was not good. Tasted like it was badly defrosted. You can find better quality fish elsewhere with cheaper prices.
Be the first to ReplyFor the price, omakase was nothing to write about.
It was quite disappointment. Shari was not my taste and vinegar combinations not matching well. Some hikari mono was good quality. Overall i will not come back here agai
