Pretty Good
I ordered the Spicy chicken box which came with, salad, soup, 4 pieces of sushi and white rice and 4 pieces of something else but not sure what is was. Pretty good meal, enjoyed everything.

This restaurant is a gem in a Hwy 49 small shop location, North Auburn, as you leave town, heading to Grass Valley, it is on the right in a small shopping center with adequate parking, large spaces.
My husband and I stopped in for late lunch 2:00, on a Monday afternoon.
The dining room is minimal, quiet, with courteous servers who are very attentive and have good timing.
I ordered the Maki assortment, thinking it was 8 California Rolls OR 8 Spicy Tuna Rolls OR 8 Tempura Rolls, with soup and salad for $12.95. To my surprise, it was all those, 24 pieces, for a very low price and the presentation was lovely, a large round white plate with the rolls arranged in a varying pattern, pleasing to the eye.
A generous balance of filling to a sheer layer of freshest sushi rice surrounding the nori. Wonderful.
My husband ordered the Chef's Choice 12 piece sashimi/nigiri. Beautiful tender layers of perfect fish draped over sushi rice pillows. More fish than rice. Served on white rectangular dish with fluted edges.
We love noodles and ordered a take away of Pork Chow Mein, Japanese style, with Udon noodles. You may also choose egg noodles. We ate it for evening nosh. So good! Comfort food.
3 meals for $40.00 We won when we decided to visit Take Maru Sushi.
You will win too.
Just the best!
The sushi here is ALWAYS incredibly fresh and stunningly beautiful. It is hands down the best sushi in Auburn, and we now have four places to choose from. From the simple Jalapeno Hamachi to the complex and exotic rolls, every bite is perfection. It's also my favorite miso, just sayin'. The place is low key, immaculately clean and the folks are delightful. So happy they are so successful. PS: They have a lovely new baby!!!
Congratulations to you all.
Outstanding Sashimi and Sushi
This is a very casual restaurant located in a small mall area. Plenty of parking. The sushi bar is located in back of the restaurant and has a TV. The sushi comes with Miso Soup and Japanese Salad. The sashimi was very large, thick, and tasted wonderful - felt like I was dining in a LA sushi house. The wait staff are very polite. On a Friday evening the tables fill up around 7:30 pm. Recommend the Shashi and Sushi plate around $24. Many choices for cold and hot sake.

Great food...have never been there with anyone who didn't enjoy it. Only negative comment is the lack of service...if you are in a hurry, I wouldn't recommend...but if you want good food...then go:)

We had several negiri rolls, gyoza and salmon skin rolls. All were very fresh and generous with the good stuff. Atmosphere low key and pleasant with more privacy than is usual in these places.
Price was consistent with what we had paid at other sushi restaurants. We have had several disappointing visits to our long time favorite, Ninja Sushi, and were hoping to find a new local place. Take Maru is it. We will be back.
