This is a fancy hotel with a very reasonable price. The white lotus experience :-) if you can’t afford the San Domenico in Taormina. Wonderful rooms with view on the sea, great breakfast, nice pool, beautiful and restful place with view on mount Etna

A stunning modern boutique hotel set amongst Beautiful grounds...including Olive, lemon and Orange trees.. Fantastic pool, great service and a good location to explore the East coast...
It is however very remote and you absolutely need a car, but I think you do for any visit to Sicily..
Disappointing
- To sum up: NOT luxury. Comparing with other places in Sicily, this was more on the €100, not €200 bracket. I guess there is a premium on vicinity to Taormina.
- Overall it *looks* way better than it actually *is*. The outside is pretty so it’s deceitful; the rooms seem well appointed but aren’t that great on a closer look. They are large though.
- Scarce towels (no, I don’t need 3, just one of decent size), cheap curtains, terrible foam pillows, foam mattress, subpar linens, cheap in-room tea selection. Housekeeping a little sloppy.
- Bad noise isolation. I heard the neighbors’ whole morning routine.
- A pro or a con: Not really in Taormina but 10 km away through toll road. You need the car to go anywhere -but then again you’re away from the awful crowds of Taormina proper.
- As it was summer, the bed was made with only the top sheet; for warmth there was a quite sorry and heavy wool cover (who uses that anymore?). I think this price merits a nice duvet, doesn’t have to be 100% goose but jeez.
- Rooms are double height, with bed on mezzanine. But as the windows are not that high, the room never has enough natural light. The “ocean view” is actually there when you step out to the terrace.
- Bedside lamps: either both on or both off. Why?
- Shower had only one temperature, no matter how much you turned the knob.
- Bathroom not at its best... the half-length (cutoff) plastic curtain for privacy on the outside-facing window is especially sad for an establishment catalogued as “luxury”.
- This is more about personal taste, but still a fair point: Upon entering the room it was very dense with the (to me, headache-inducing) diffuser scent. Even if I’d liked the scent it would have been too much. I had to put it out and open all the windows even though it was raining.
- Breakfast complete but prepackaged, including the juices.
- Overall not much ambience.
