Taste of Europe Stateline Reviews from The Last Year
Happy Repeat Fans
Always Amazing. We come here EVERY time we visit South Lake Tahoe. Our favorites are the stroganoff (splurge and get it with spaetzle) and the lamb shank. The recipes are authentically European. Nothing disappoints.
Great food good service
Great pork shank great schnizle. Accommodated our ski club of 37 people without a hitch great local place. Chef knows his food
Great German food
The food was awsome. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you love German food. The service was excellent the ambiance was awsome.
Absolutely the WORST experience we have EVER had in ANY
Absolutely the WORST experience we have EVER had in ANY restaurant ANYWHERE. Seated outside, male waiter took our drink order promptly and then went AWOL. No biggy. We sat and enjoyed the 1980s top ten music countdown while enjoying the outdoors. After 4-5 songs, we realized that other people that were seated after us had their food already and we still didnt have our drinks. I look at my wife and ask "you wanna leave?" She says yep. So we just get up and leave. No scene, no complaint, nothing. We just go. About two hours later on the strip we goto a little european restaurant. We sit down, order dinner and literally seconds after ordering, a guy comes out of the kitchen, sees is and goes "hey.....werent you guys my guests across the street?" The SAME dude that waited on us was now working in the kitchen here. I go "oh dude, yep that was us. You never came with our drinks so we just left. Sorry about that" He totally goes off in front of other guests, our waiter, etc" "IT WASNT EVEN 5 minutes!!!!! You owe me $30 !!!!!" He was being a total AHOLE. Should NEVER work in customer service EVER. Needless to say, we IMMEDIATELY got up and left. Horrible experience.
Highly recommend
Delicious food, great service, large portions and reasonable prices. The schnitzel is amazing. The chocolate mousse for dessert was literally the best restaurant dessert I've ever had and I'm in my 60's! Highly recommend this place. It's not fancy, just delicious!
We enhoyed it
Great Eastern European food. My husband enjoyed goulash (pieces of meat in a delicious sauce). I loved the fried mushroom appetizer. Apple stroudel is tasty. The very friendly owner bakes it herself.
Great flavor, authentic vibes!
This family owned business is amazing!! You really are getting an authentic European experience here. Everything on the menu is freshly made to order. The portions are very generous but make sure to save room for the desserts, the strudel is the best we have ever had!
Yum
Our server/owner was super. Schnitzel and spaetzle were delicious!!! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant!
Taste has moved and a new name.

Parts of the page say permanently closed another
Parts of the page say permanently closed another temporarily, which is it? We went last time with relatives this time in July 2021, at the time the husband and wife were running the restaurant alone, had a hard time finding hired help. Guess we can thank the Plandemic for this atrocity, this was a favorite of ours, sad.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
