I ordered food and a salad. Got my salad, but then, I waited 45 min to find out, my entre. a $75 steak, had never been submitted. I waitted patiently, t, for 40 minutes thinking, everything would be fine. Then they got mad at my requests, and physically removed me.... Over, their mistake. a late entree. Holy crap.I guess I should elaborate, i am a massive fane, i bought $700 in gift cards over the Christmas season! They will clearly attack you, with their inability to execute, eventually. I promise you.

I have been so curious about The Arthur J and last night my friend, Jenn & I finally got to experience it. Service was impeccable. Our server was super attentive and incredibly kind. The manager made sure we were well taken care of as well. The ambiance was bustling and reminded me of a New York steakhouse. Perfect for a Friday night.Food- this is where I would have to give it 4.5 stars- the steak was amazing, we split the rib eye and cooked perfectly. The lobster bisque needed more bisque to it- it was more of lobster soup. Shrimp cocktail was ginormous and fresh. Creamed spinach was worth every calorie. Broccolini was charred to perfection. Drinks were flowing and the espresso martini at the end of the meal was the perfect finale. But, again, a big thank you to the Anthony and our server.

My partner and I came out for a small celebration dinner. First off they made us wait 15min for our table and it wasn't even that busy. They gave us 2 cocktails as an apology for the wait which was a nice gesture from the Manager, who was a very charming friendly man. Although to say that the cocktails didn't tasted that great and were disturbingly sweet that we only had a sip or two cause one does not want to start their dinner with something that sweet. When we finally sat down it took a while again for a server to come and the young man who came to poor us some water was all flustered and in a rush of some kind (it was not busy) that he spilled a bunch of water on our table and never came back to clean it up so we did it ourselves, no big deal but still. Our server was nice enough when he took our order and recommended us certain apps that he likes and we also ordered a KC steak and a filet. First off the appetizers were extremely underwhelming, the French soup was barley Luke warm and consisted only of grease and cheese in the mouth and burned onions. The wedge salad looked very sad, tasted bland and when we asked for extra dressing it took them at least 10min. The scallops were chewy, rubbery and cold. The truffle sauce they put on top tasted a bit rancid and was way over powering. They say they bake the Parker house freshly every day but they looked and tasted worst than store bought ones. The table next to us had the popovers and they send them back cause they were that bad. When we complained about certain food items another manager came by who was not even near as accommodating as his colleague was. If I remember well his name was Anthony and he said he was gonna take care of it. Didn't see him for at least 10min after and saw him hanging at his own bar talking/flirting with some ladies. He finally came and dropped a shrimp cocktail on our table saying "it's on the house" that's it! The shrimp was not of great quality and overcooked, one even had an unpleasant mushy texture that I spit it out in my napkin. The steaks than came and they were barely warm, we asked to get them warmer but when we got them back they look all grey ish and slightly over the temp we ordered. My partner and I finally were tired of it and decided not to say anything anymore and just ate some of our steaks. The sides as well were cold and not seasoned properly, they were also very very basic as in cafeteria at a school or hospital basic. I wanted to try and have a saving grace with the food and asked our server what he recommended. We followed his advice and ordered a fritter. Too bad I didn't take a photo cause this was an abomination, it looked like someone already ate from our plate before they brought it, even the ice cream. It didn't tasted good and way too sweet. We were done after this and asked for the check. While waiting for the check we observed that that same manager was still hanging at his own bar drinking and flirting with ladies. Even the people seating next to us were complaining about that particular manager and the food as well. On the check they left the French soup out but I'm sorry that doesn't make up for everything that is wrong and bad about the food and their manager his poor service. I will definitely never be coming back to this place or recommend it to anyone.

After a well fulfilled and blessed weekend, I would be remiss if I did not take the opportunity to come full circle by writing to your organization. On Saturday March 11th, my wife surprised me by making a reservation at The Arthur J for my 30th birthday celebration -- this was exciting because I did not know where we were going until we arrived there. The location was neat, clean and subtle, and from the moment I opened the door, the ambiance was radiant yet intimate, welcoming and full of heartwarming individuals. From the gate, the hostess staff were invested in us being there and that set the tone for the rest of the night. We were shocked at how packed the place was, yet we felt that there were no bases left uncovered... the house staff, management staff and support staff were floating to ensure that every person was enjoying themselves... however, there is no one, no one compared to our waiter. Parker, by name, made my whole birthday experience a complete joy. From food recommendations, to dessert, to cocktails -- he was a twenty out of ten. Parker reflected the true values of the hospitality industry; where he made my birthday personal to him, not just as his table, but to the extent that someone would treat their own family and friends. His extra efforts surpassed what he was assigned to do, he brought forward a rewarding and life changing experience to my birthday and I am grateful eternally that my wife brought me there. I can't say it enough, until I am blue in the face, that The Arthur J has won my family over and we look forward to spending a lot more special occasions in The Arthur J's care. I had The Arthur J's steak sampler, and my wife had the Ribeye steak... all of which was amazing. The combination with their Creamed Spinach, Butternut Squash (with bourbon maple pecans) and their seasonal scallops with a black truffle vinaigrette was stellar. To top it off, my favorite! COCONUT CAKE seemed to be made almost personal.

I would never go here for the sole purpose of having an amazing meal because I know that's not what I would get after experiencing it a couple of times now. This place is about making you feel and look important. Great place for a business lunch/dinner, or romantic conservative date. The steak was over salted, the broccoli was flat in flavor, branzino was over cooked, and food was incredibly overpriced for the culinary splendor it lacked. Also didn't help that our waiter was an overconfident tool who embarrassed me in front of my partner's mother during her birthday dinner. She was tired, and he didn't come by yet to ask to clear our plates so I waved him down and asked if he could bring the birthday dessert. He got insulted and said "you want me to bring dessert when there's still plates with food on your table?". "You came here for high quality service, and that's what you'll get. Don't worry, I got this." I was BAFFLED and had to muster all my strength from going off on this guy for being so rude on such a special occasion that we were paying high dollar for. When I wrote a complaint in response to our reservation survey, I never got a message back from the restaurant. I will say though, the cocktails were great, and the ambiance is cool and sexy in a sophisticated way. But, definitely won't be coming back nor recommending this restaurant anytime soon.

We've been coming to Arthur J for a few years, the steak was always exceptional, it's one of our favorite steak houses.Made a reservation on open table for 4 ppl last night , requested a quiet booth or window, they did the complete opposite, they had us in a corner right next to the service station where the servers were getting silverware and glasses constantly. when we first walked in and saw the table, we requested for a booth that was available at the time, they argued that we had requested a window seat and we got our request and gave the booth away right in front of us. we had a speaker directly above us, servers walking and working right next to us during the whole meal, we couldn't hear or have a conversation without shouting so we gave up talking, ate our meal and left. Needless to say, it was a very disappointing experience, not sure if we would be back again since the drive was 45 minutes, we usually don't mind traveling for a good steak, but good steak can not make up for bad service.

Be the first to ReplyMain Reason For 4 Stars: Service with Jessica T.
She is A++. Cesar Salad: Best I have ever had. Rib-Eye: Incredibly delicious but luke warm and lathered with horseradish sauce? Had to scrape grilled mushrooms and sauce off the steak to taste it:( Quite shocked sauce was not served on the side? Broccolini and Creamed Spinach :Yum! Baked Potato: Very very salty.Main Reason For Losing a Star: Vibes coming from Host the minute we arrived and insisted on seating us in a main thoroughfare where piped music was loudest:( ...even though we requested a booth with reservation made a week previous. He did not want to know our concerns.........very tacky! Would I return: 100% after checking it was host's night off.............
