🤢 2/5 - I used to work in the area, and during 2016-2019 I ate here

I used to work in the area, and during 2016-2019 I ate here frequently and fell in love with the food here. I would talk it up so much to friends that they would often drive out and meet me for lunch here during the week. But it seems time has changed things - the brunch I had here this morning no longer matches my memories of the delicious meals had here in the past. Brunch started out really well with buttermilk ricotta donuts as a starter and those were divine - just like I remember from the old times. Next we had the poached egg with leeks, and while it was decent, it wasn't the GREAT it used to be. But where I was really disappointed was in the frittata we ordered - it was likely 3 eggs short and what I got was an over cooked 1/2 inch of melted cheese, spinach, and mushrooms - I actually had to pull it apart to look and see if there was any egg inside. Not at all what a frittata is, and that's not because of creative license. It was just wrong. I could only eat half of it and left the rest. The final frustration was that there was no actual table service. After we placed our order a child brought our food to us and while he did a fine job of that, he was not a waiter - I had to call him over for each thing we needed. Could we have cream and sugar with our coffee? Could we have a sugar bowl that has actual sugar and not just splenda? The boy did his best, but I wouldn't consider it charming and folksy on a $70 bill. To top it off, we were charged a mandatory 20% gratuity on our check for this child to essentially bus our table rather than offer actual waiter service.Sad that all those memories of great meals there are now just that ... memories.
