A warm welcome and loved it!
Needed to be near to Golders Green for a funeral so travelled down night before and was recommended to Bull. What a joy!! Welcomed like a friend , fab room , just right for one night as a singleton. Dinner was excellent , and there was a Quiz too! So entertainment provided too. Met some lovely people and it’s one of those places you feel very relaxed and comfortable with. No lifts so if stairs are an issue, maybe not for you.

We were a party of 14 for a special birthday celebration and we were given a magnificent feast. The service was spot on and the food was generous and delicious !

Lovely room (but tiny - no room to hang all our clothes). Clean, stylish and decent sized ensuite with big shower. Staff were friendly and really helpful; although we didn't eat in the pub we had drinks on a couple of occasions and there was a super atmosphere. The position was perfect for what we wanted - right next to bus stops and across the road from Hampstead Heath. Walking distance (10 mins) to coffee shops and restaurants. We'll definitely stay again, but in a bigger room.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Service & Phenomenal Food
We were a big group of 10 and the team couldn't have been more accommodating despite it being a very busy Sunday lunch service. Firstly, two members of our group couldn't join us and no fuss was made. Secondly, we had pre-ordered food which included sharing starters however one person was gluten free and another vegetarian - both were catered for individually which was wonderful. Every member of staff was attentive and helpful. All three courses were delicious and we didn't feel rushed at any point despite taking up a large area. Overall a wonderful experience and we would definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyNo vegan options at all on the menu and only 1 vegetarian main course option out of at least 8 options.
So I love this pub and the food has always been good, however I have recently turned vegetarian/vegan and was disappointed to see what a very poor vegetarian offering they have. They also have no vegan options at all on the menu. When I asked the server if they had a vegan offering, they said they would ask what the kitchen could do, and I was offered a root vegetable with kale, which is so disappointing. So many restaurants offer wonderful vegetarian/vegan options, so its just so disappointing that a restaurant of this calibre is so behind the times. Even if they offered a plant based burger this would work, bit nope nothing plant based at all.

Impromptu Saturday late lunch brought us here after a friend reminded us we had wanted to try eating here. We had a table upstairs and loved it. I found downstairs a bit loud but that’s because everyone was having a great time. It made us smile to see people really enjoying themselves. We loved the food and the service. We didn’t have space for dessert which was a shame as the menu was enticing. Ignore the reviews saying it’s terrible, it’s not. It’s wonderful.
Be the first to ReplyThe Bull and Last used to be amazing but it's not anymore
The Bull and Last was my favourite Sunday Lunch spot for many years. I returned today for a family lunch - my son's birthday. On walking through the door, we were told by the humourless waitress that we needed to sit down and get on with ordering because we needed to give our table up in two hours. She made us feel utterly unwelcome; her manner was cold, and so was our food. The meat was raw, the potatoes were rock hard and four roast dinners, with no starters or alcohol, cost £150. My husband sent his food back - the waitress rolled her eyes and then brought the same raw meat back to the table. The Bull and Last used to be amazing, but it's not anymore. An unfriendly, vibe-less atmosphere, and tasteless badly-cooked food. We won't be going back.

What disappointment - admittedly I had not lunched there for quite some while when I had had a delightful meal. A group of four attended - initially there had been some mishap with our reservation. The rather sultry manager gave no apology. Two of our party ordered the roast beef sandwich. I have had many delicious roast beef sandwiches in my time. the beef in this one - how can I describe it - was thick, had a very large amount of fat and I had to request a sharp knife to cut it - the sandwich included a large piece of uncut sour pickled cucumber a minute amount of salad inside a brioche roll. The chips accompanying this dish were of the tiny frozen character. Those in our party who ordered chips separate to their dish received lovely chunky chips. This "roast beef" sandwich was priced at £18. When I complained the waitress was most apologetic and said she would tell the kitchen. As she cleared our plates she offered no explanation. I had to ask. The answer was "they apologised". Is that sufficient ? Very sad indeed.

Simply a wonderful lunch experience from beginning to end. As soon as you walk in your greeted with a spacious dinning area and a warm welcome. We were met by Paul who was genuinely pleased to see us and made us feel tremendous throughout the meal. The food is knockout. I’ve had most of the menu over the months and never stumbled across anything less than a 5/5. The dessert are stunningly addictive as are the cocktails. Utterly delicious

Terrible. You wouldn't think anyone could mess up steak and kale, but it was all horrible. At these prices, I'd expect excellent basic ingredients but the steak was poor, even before it was cooked. The kale was dripping water from cooking: it sat in a puddle. Maybe having a party of fifty upstairs was a problem for the kitchen, but if that's the case, they shouldn't have taken our booking. The fish board was also crap: mostly batter and presented as though it had been sat on.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Mother’s Day meal
Well cooked meal with enormous Yorkshire puddings. I had the lamb and my husband had the veggie option. The food was tasty, staff attentive and pleasant. It’s obviously popular as people who had not booked were turned away. We were lucky as we arrived early enough to get a table. We would definetly go again
Be the first to ReplyVery Good Indeed!
The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff well trained and attentive, and the menu interesting; The food is well prepared, tasty and enjoyable. We shared the fish board and had its contents well explained by a member of staff who recommended it and had knowledge of the reason the pub is so named 'Last'. Moving on, the Haddock and Chips (triple cooked), was the best I have ever had in a restaurant: not really needing a dessert we shared two of the excellent and interesting ice cream choices, and wondered why other places can't show the same imagination in their flavours! All in all we can highly recommend and were glad that we had visited.

Wow! Just love this place, and perfect location for a walk on the heath. Food is always spot on and cooked perfectly, great, friendly service too!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic stay
Just returned home from a 2 night stay here in the Dido room . What a fantastic find the room was a perfect size felt very homely. Was spotlessly clean and had a very comfortable bed . We had a continental breakfast both mornings delivered to our room which again was very good. The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble .I would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone visiting London .

Hard to believe I have been visiting this restaurant for about 14 years, and it still ticks every box. The newly added dish of Frito Misto, with octopus, monkfish and calamari was perfectly cooked and made for a delightful Saturday lunch.
Be the first to ReplySunday lunch
I live in Sudbury Suffolk and read a review on this establishment by Giles Coren so was intrigued. I took my wife and younger daughters and met my eldest daughter and son in law (who travelled from Brentwood Essex) on Sunday 29th January and was so glad I did. The four hour round trip was more than worth it. The Sunday roast is probably one of the largest I have ever been served. The gravy was so tasty and the beef cooked to perfection (we had it pink). Probably the biggest Yorkshire puddings around and the side order of cauliflower cheese was to die for. For dessert you must try the Ferrero Rocher ice cream and if you’re driving the home made ginger ale. Will definitely return but as a treat as £50 a head is a bit dearer than Suffolk prices 😉
Be the first to ReplyNice pub, but not quite gourmet
This is a lovely pub that has been refurbished to a high standard. I did not recognise any of the beers on sale but found one I liked. I have been a few times as it is very local. The food disappoints. Its OK pub food but quite expensive for what it is. I will give it another go as the staff are lovely and I would definitely go there for a drink. The food and the menu could, and should be a bit better. This may be my personal taste and so, I don't want to put anyone off. Give it a try.

My ‘go to’ relatively local eatery, and thankfully the burger is still on the menu. Initially I was told it was on the menu specifically during the football World Cup, but it’s life has been extended. Served perfectly pink, it’s an excellent choice if you like burgers.

Delicious food and environment. Shout out to the very talented Marius for his magic tricks by the fire - such a joyous treat! Thanks for having us!
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding roast!
I’ve waited for ages to get a table here. Weekends need booking a good few weeks in advance and I hadn’t managed to organise myself. It was 100% worth the wait. Amazing roast with all the trimmings. High quality ingredients and everything was perfectly cooked. I would have liked to see a nut roast option - the pumpkin option didn’t quite do it for me, but it was still very good. Excellent service, lovely atmosphere… will be visiting again!
Be the first to ReplyNot as good as it was - shame
Having not been to the B&L for some years and following its renovation I decided to visit with some friends. Firstly, I must make it clear that the service was absolutely first class and nothing negative to say about it. However the food did not live up to my previous experience and felt like your average run of the mill Gastrologist-pub. Anchovies and bread to start with simple and adequate, mackerel pate lacking in any depth of flavour and bread very nice . Roast dinners were quite average but potatoes were undercooked and felt like they had been quickly heated up without anyone checking if they were easy to cut . Vegi meal was very bland and the combination of a Yorkshire pudding served with a ricotta filled courgette just didn’t blend . Ice cream dessert was fine. Such a shame because my previous experiences at the B&L were first class and this was just ordinary. As a final sign off - once again the waiting team were excellent!
Be the first to ReplyAccommodation is superb not so the food.
Really good accommodation. Our bedroom was well equipped and finished to a high standard. Unfortunately the meal we had at lunchtime did not meet this standard. Average pub food but with a premium pricing. Would recommend staying but not eating in the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyRubbish drinks
Weak negroni’s and some sort of fake Campari. Drinks tasted like sugar water. Dirty / sticky outside tables and lack of acknowledgement of the situation by staff. Normally great food but drinks are on the slide…
Be the first to ReplyWarm welcome, excellent food, good beer, great rooms
Lovely place to stay, eat and drink. Friendly, welcoming staff. Rooms are of an excellent standard. Very good food, open late, well situated. 100% recommended. I would go back.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Place to stay and eat.
Booked a night in the Faraday room that was exceptional on all fronts including the bath next to the bed! Very quirky features and layout with one of the most comfortable beds ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. Bonus was the ability to enjoy a very tasty and great meal in the gastro pub below all the fine accommodation. Must be a good place to drink/eat as a lot of locals were calling in after their early evening swim from the park. Great hosts that have got this niche building pouring with great looks, good food and genuine nice people running and working at the B & L.
