The place is gorgeous, great vibe The service was INCREDIBLE. When the hostess asked if we were celebrating something, I mentioned it was my wife's birthday, genuinely not expecting anything, but at least three people in the staff came over to say happy birthday and they even left a cute note on the table before we sat down, really top notch The food was great, in particular the burger and the Scottish egg We're certainly coming back

This is a hidden gem! It's located on the second floor of the Edition Hotel. When standing in the park, look for the building with the clock and you'll spot it right away. lol. Three of us went for brunch and we all enjoyed our meals... crab cakes and avocado toast, and bloody Marys. Service was friendly and well paced. Afterwards we moved to the bar and enjoyed some cocktails. The greenpoint and marayuca were awesome. I could've had 10 of them but I didn't. The space is bit dark but fun and there's a room with a pool table. I recommend popping in for food or drinks or both.

Yesterday, we celebrated my boyfriend's birthday at the restaurant, and while the food was good, our experience was overshadowed by the demeanor of our server, Eduardo, who made us feel uncomfortable by acting as though he was above us. A few examples would include: almost throwing the complimentary birthday dessert on the table as well as the check even we did not ask for it, we also asked him to pause on lighting the candle because we wanted to take a video but he ignored our wishes and lit it up anyways. Both my friend and I were sure to ask this vocally multiple times so he definitely heard us. We also advised him early on that I was allergic to almonds so anything with nuts I wanted to be extra careful, the complimentary birthday dessert had nuts and nothing was told to me until I bit into it already. The attention to detail lacked greatly and the human touch is not there which degrades the entire atmosphere of the restaurant. We will go back to the clocktower again because the food itself is good but Eduardo left a such an impression that I will ask that my server is NOT him when I return. I hope the management team will take steps to properly train their staff in customer service as this is crucial to any restaurant business. You can't have great food for with shitty service.. deducted 3 stars because of service.

Came here for a dinner with a friend and really enjoyed the ambiance. The beef wellington was to die for. The meat was very tender and the pastry was buttery and flakey. We also enjoyed the beef carpaccio. Service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait.
Be the first to ReplyVery romantic and sexy vibe.
Great find on restaurant week. The pool table was a pleasant surprise and an added bonus. Will definitely return
Be the first to ReplyA cozy environment with an oak themed feel to it.
The food was very good. Highly recommend the butternut squash soup. The duck was amazing, cooked according to preference with a nice crusty shell. Fish and chips were the Americanized edition. Good but not authenticate British tasting fish batter. And then the sticky toffee dessert was 100% authentic. The staff were attentive and quite prompt with the food. I recommend this restaurant and likely will be back.
Be the first to ReplyWe ate dinner at the Clock Tower for Restaurant Week.
We were not presented with the restaurant week menu when we sat down and had to ask for it. We noticed other tables having to do the same. However, the menus did arrive with a recommendation for the most expensive item on the menu (Beef Wellington, $71). We ordered a dozen oysters and then the three course Restaurant Week special for each of us. The oysters were fresh and tasty. However, they were brought to the table with the appetizers, which was odd. The appetizers (steak tartare and a salad) were OK, but a little small. The entree was a hanger steak with potatoes. A photo is included. It had to be the worst presented plate I've ever had at a NYC restaurant. Worse yet, the (medium rare) steak was over salted and tough. The potatoes were flavorful, but lukewarm. The deserts were just OK. The panna cotta was topped with a citrus salad, a weird flavor combination that did not work. Besides the issue with the menus, the service was problematic. We sat for a long time before being initially greeted and long time periods passed between courses. The numerous waitstaff were all young and inexperienced. In photos, the restaurant looked romantic. In reality, it was very noisy. The tables for two are very narrow and long, forcing you to sit far apart. That, combined with the noise, made it impossible to carry on a conversation at a normal volume. Most of the noise was the loud music from the nearby bar. Overall, the visit was a disappointment. Restaurant week is a great time to try new places. Sadly, we learned that we did not like the Clock Tower and that we will not be back. Also, despite what other reviews claim, the Clock Tower is not a one-Michelin starred restaurant. The list is here: https://guide.michelin.com/us/en/new-york-state/new-york/restaurants/1-star-michelin?sort=distance. Its not even close to the standard set by those establishments.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot, inside the Edition hotel.
Seafood platter is a must try. Delicious. Highly enjoyed the halibut. Everyone had great meals. Drink was good (not great). Good service (attentive waiter who gave good suggestions). I would definitely go back.

Came here for a friend's birthday - excellent food and service here, highly recommended if you like british cuisine or just want beef wellington. The only thing that takes a star away is their portions are kind of small, but amazing otherwise!

The Clocktower Restaurant is in what must be one of the finest hotel properties in Manhattan - the New York Edition. The restaurant feels like an exclusive old school club that is equal parts hip, chic and timelessly stylish. The gallery walls are gorgeous and the intentionally-curated photo collection is interesting in and of itself. The food is a sure thing. I've dined there 4 times. Three of those times it felt like a Michelin-starred experience - every "chip" (French fry) was crispy perfection, fresh smoothies, no detail of our meal left unattended and impeccable service. Last weekend was a miss, however. The restaurant was not crowded yet our waiter took our order and we never saw him again except to either bring the check or remove our plates. A kitchen hand served us and we had to flag him down while he served a nearby table to request our check. The waiter brought it to us but without asking if we wanted anything else; we felt rushed at that point. We would have had another round of drinks or dessert but for lack of service. It was a very nice meal but I was disappointed that the experience didn't rise to the level I have seen on previous visits. The Clocktower is so special! I hope we were there on a rare "off" Saturday when its best talent was taking holiday time off.
Be the first to ReplyThis is part of the Starr restaurant group.
We had the opportunity to eat at another establishment this week. It was supposedly rated higher than Clocktower. The food there was subpar, the food and service at CT, absolutely exquisite and innovative. The staff was completely attentive and friendly, like a family. I can't wait to go back.

The drinks/food were very good, the fanciness was lost on me, the prices reasonably digestible, the service amazing, and the experience was fun to enjoy with others. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $245.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
Be the first to ReplyI requested a table for two by the window for my birthday.
I made this request several times over the phone and by email. So they gave me a table for four in the middle of the room. Food is good though overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyOkay food, terrible service.
For the price, check elsewhere. Disappointed because the space was so cute.
Be the first to ReplySo I dated a guy that seemed to have gotten a cheat cheat
So I dated a guy that seemed to have gotten a cheat cheat on how to chase me away. After two/three bad dates in a row, he finally took me here for a drink. Men, all us women in their thirties want is a nice place to drink cocktails. After you've snagged them, make them do things they don't like and such... Anyways, I recall the drinks being delicious here. I remember asking the guy what the name of the place was so I can go back one day. Fast forward to last week, a senior manager at my job who I got very close to was in town. Every time she is in town, she stays at the hotel this is located in so it just made sense to have dinner here. There was a very creepy old man that kept trying to squeeze into our conversation that sort of made me want to get the hell out of there as soon as possible, but everything else was good. We got the following.- Celery like based soup: When the plate showed up, it showed up with a few mushrooms in the middle of a large plate. I had no idea what the heck that was and my senior manager and I looked at each other so confused. Then they poured the thick broth, which made so much more sense. It was a good laughing moment. The soup was fine, but I really didn't like the celery like flavor that lingered every bite. I didn't finish my soup to be honest.- Crab cake: the creepy guy suggested this and I am grateful for his creepiness. This was delicious! Crispy based with crab in the middle. We shared this, but can easily have this on my own.- Halibut: this was delicious! I love a good poached fish moment. Staff is good. They do up sale a lot which was a bit annoying. How much food can one eat at 7 pm on a Wednesday? I gave this place three stars because I feel like I haven't had a chance to really give their menu a try. What I had was good, but I am dying to try the beef wellington. Stay tuned for an updated review.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was Amazing we loved everything we ordered.
Ambiance very classic and clean. We ordered two starters roasted beetroot salad and the scallops, scallops were fantastic. Prime NY stripe is a must we ordered medium rare and it was cocked to perfection. We didn't love the bourbon ice cream ( no flavor ) but their signature dessert 'warm sticky toffee pudding' was something else. The four stars are just because the wine by the glass list is very poor , the old fashioned was just not there ( you can't mistake an old fashioned in such fancy restaurant) and we would have expected the same level of service, our waiter was very very gentle and kind but I guess it was new and I think the management should have supported him more. There are basic mistakes that could have been avoided in a high end restaurant.

Be the first to ReplyThe food and ambiance is fantastic.
We got oysters, steak tartare, the pork chop and the fish n chips. Every bite was delicious and they were playing groovy music. However, the service was horrible and it really impacted our experience. They may have just been understaffed on a Saturday night, but aside from when they first sat us down and took our drink orders we had to track down the waiter every time we wanted/needed something. It was clear everybody in the restaurant was experiencing this and you could overhear others complaining. They were also very slow to clear empty plates. I would go again but probably not on a Saturday or Friday night.
Be the first to ReplyCame for a burger and of course ate other stuff too.
Such a good burger though! And you know I am serious when it comes to burger perfection. This place is up there in my burger list. Menu is amazing overall. Try their Mac'n'cheese as an appetizer. I swear!
Be the first to ReplyThe Clocktower is a disappointing experience all around.
The food is average at best, and the service is slow and unprofessional. We waited over an hour for our food to come, and when it finally did, it was cold and not very appetizing. The atmosphere is also pretty dreary and not at all what you would expect from a New York City restaurant. Overall, we would not recommend The Clocktower to anyone.

Thank you to our server Evan and the rest of the team that took great care to make sure we had everything we needed. P.s. Definitely finish up your meal with the sticky toffee pudding!

The ambiance and the food were beyond my hopes. It happened to be my birthday, and my server, Evan, treated me like a queen. The fish and chips were perfectly lovely. I really enjoyed my time here. I wish I lived closer but will definitely come again my next trip to the city.

Dark paneled ceilings and a large marble hearth aglow with flames created a welcoming and cozy ambiance. My dining group of four decided to order and share 3 appetizers. I'd never had a scotch egg before, but as someone who has an unhealthy love of eggs in all preparations I've ever tasted (I'm sure the two eggs I eat most mornings are not doing anything wonderful for my cholesterol level), I was sure I would enjoy this dish. And I was correct. The fried outer coating provided a satisfying crunch. The savory yolk and pork sausage was cut by the acidity of the accompanying walnut ketchup. We spoke to the sommelier to get his advice on wine pairings for each course. He recommended a sparkling wine from the south of England to pair with the scotch egg. It was right on point! Note to self: anything fried goes well with bubbles. Next up, Berners Tavern macaroni & cheese with wild mushrooms and slow-cooked ox cheek. This was not the usual elbow pasta with bright yellow artificial cheese from a box. This was a bit of a masterpiece. Large, hearty ribbon pasta noodles with meaty mushrooms and tender, flavorful ox cheek in a rich creamy sauce. Absolutely delicious. The final appetizer was chicken liver and foie gras parfait. Although savory, it was not the richest foie gras I've ever had. Nevertheless, the perfectly toasted brioche bread with a soft center was the perfect vehicle for foie gras.On to the main course, the beef wellington, the dish I was most excited about. Admittedly, my first bite was a bit lackluster. The meat seemed a bit dry and under seasoned. However, I quickly learned that the remedy lay in the mash potatoes and gravy that accompanied the dish. Combining all the elements of the plate on my fork, the perfect bite highlighted the interplay of textures between the flaky outer pastry and mash potatoes, and allowed the savory gravy to add flavor and moisture to the beef. Overall I was quite pleased. We capped the evening with a delicious warm sticky toffee puddingWe had good service throughout the night and any small snafu was quickly addressed; great customer service. I would definitely dine here again.
