The Emerald Hour Mountain View Reviews from The Last Year
Stay longer
My only regret about staying at this hotel was that we got in late at night and only stayed one night. The rooms are great and the outdoor pool and spa a great way to unwind. We would have liked a breakfast restaurant or buffet but made do with the offerings of the cafe
Fantastically pleasurable fun time. The Front desk is really what makes this place special. The human element
I absolutely adore this hotel, it's a Fun lil joint that's world class...in my humbled opinion as one who traveled and patronizes 1k's of places. When it comes to silicon valley there's really only 3 spots The four seasons, rosewood and The Shashi😁

Enamored with Michelin status quo that tells a lot about The Emerald. Cocktail time with homies this is the place we watch the nights go by as we enjoy our martinis, palomas, and apple pie desert. Service keeps up with chic ambience. Upmarket price reflects esthetically pleasing to the senses. Appreciate every single time we come by here for a lovely night along with the great staff onsite. It speaks to the heart when comfortable meets high standard of service. We also get to watch 49ers on the screen. Entire facility is spotless and equitably right amount of decent crowd. A keeper.
Very Good
Decent hotel that was clean and close to a banquet venue I was attending at the computer history museum. The staff was friendly. My stay was very short and I didn't get to try the restaurant or bar area. I did like that parking was free and had their own garage. An extra bonus was that they had EV chargers that were also complimentary. The room was on the smaller side but still able to stretch out. Only downside was the walls were slightly thin and you could hear furniture moving around and footsteps.

Ambience was cool, food was good but very small, since its tapas style, prices were outrageous for cocktails. 20% auto gratuity charge is over the top. Service was pretty good although. Because of the prices I would not come back. Easy parking garage was nice also.
Excellent hotel, A++
I stay here somewhat frequently for business. Easily the best hotel I stay in for work. New and nicely appointed building. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and very nice. The restaurant downstairs is incredible. My only complaint is that the TV is not very intuitive to use. I never did figure out how to just surf regular channels.
I'm a Mtn.
View local and a regular guest at T.E.H. I look forward to The Emerald Hour environment right after work on a Friday. It was 4pm and I loved having the bar to myself to read and relax. Anton (the mixologist) made me feel right at home. The Hendricks G&T with a lime wedge is simple and delicious. It's not on the menu but Anton agreed, just a few good ingredients is all that's needed for a delicious late afternoon libation. I highly recommend ordering 3-4 small plates and have them served all together. The scallops were scrumptious. It was a unique combo of 3 raw and 3 seared with light veggies and savory drizzle. About tipping: If you are annoyed by the 20% automatic tip applied to your bill, you have the option to decline that. Simply apply your own gratuity. Don't make a drama out of it. Just be fair. The menu will change next week. I'll be back with a smile on my face. Tell Anton, Marti sent you.
Birthday anniversary
I had such a great experience at this hotel everyone was extremely polite and professional top notch service. Everything was extremely nice and clean the room was cleaning service without us being pressured about it great experience great food
Great Service, Clean Facility, and Excellent location
To begin, Shashi's customer service was fantastic. All of their associates were professional, polite, and very accommodating. My wife very much appreciated not only how clean the room was but also the cleanliness of the hotel in general. We enjoyed the quality of their robes as they were very soft and luxurious. It was also pretty convenient being as close as we were from the hotel to Googleplex - literally 3minutes away. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely choose them as hosts again.
The room was spacious, but there were issues with the lights and TV spontaneously turning on during the night.
During our recent stay at the Shashi Hotel, I encountered a mix of experiences that diverged from their advertised 5-star standard. The hotel's boutique nature, with only 200 units within the Google campus, sets it apart from others, offering a unique location just a short walk from the Googleplex. Our booking process began smoothly with an early check-in and room upgrade managed through the hotel's app. However, complications arose when the app failed to provide us with our room number and mobile key. Despite proactive efforts and assistance from the upbeat front desk staff member, Evelyn, the app continued to malfunction, leading us to resort to a traditional check-in. Upon arrival, we appreciated the convenient covered parking. However, the promised room upgrade was unavailable due to a booking error, which was promptly rectified with a refund. The hotel also compensated for this inconvenience with complimentary water bottles. Unfortunately, the Broma restaurant was closed for a private event, though we had reservations for the following night. The room itself was spacious with a well-sized bathroom, though we struggled initially with the light switches and the Smart TV's streaming capabilities. The first night was particularly challenging due to the lights and TV spontaneously turning on, which we initially mistook for a ghostly encounter. This issue was later resolved by using the main switches, although the front desk's response to our phone call was less than helpful, attributing the problem to a simple need for new batteries. Our second night proved more restful after learning the correct method to power off the TV (hold the power button 3 seconds to full turn it off including its screensaver) and ensuring the recessed lighting stayed off. We also faced difficulties with the hotel's spotty WiFi, which was crucial for submitting my projects. The front desk provided access to a more reliable, secured network after explaining the ongoing network updates. On our departure day, we encountered another hiccup when our key cards failed to work before the late check-out time, requiring assistance from a cleaner to access our room. The front desk attributed this issue to a staff oversight in adjusting the key card's validity. Dining at the Broma restaurant offered a mixed experience. The food was inconsistent, though the cocktails were enjoyable. Due to the lack of nearby dining options, Broma served as a convenient, if not exceptional, choice. In summary, while Shashi Hotel demonstrates potential, it falls short of the seamless experience provided by larger, mainstream hotels. Issues that arose during our stay were addressed, but many could have been avoided with better foresight and system checks. The hotel's service and amenities were generally good, but there's room for improvement to truly align with its 5-star claim.
LOVE this hotel and 100% recommend to stay here!
Great room, friendly helpful staff & perfect location 4 mins drive to work with free parking, modern design and cute shared hot tub outside. LOVE this hotel and 100% recommend to stay here! There shouldn't be a minimum to post this review.
Hip and buzzy urban retreat
This hotel is such a surprise. Located in an urban business park setting, it features anything one might want in a luxe and relaxing stay: hip bar, fantastic restaurant, pool, fitness studio, cozy rooms with all the conveniences, and comfy beds. Stuff is friendly and accommodating, and the place buzzes with great energy.
Everything about this place is amazing.
The food, cocktails, service and ambience are brilliantly executed.

Pros -convenience being located in the hotel Cons -even for pick up orders where you come down they automatically charge you a 20% gratuity which is ridiculous -pricey -lack of variety in the menu -burger was nothing special and chips that came with it tasted store bought
Came here for the Janet concert.
And tbh, I was a bit disappointed. First the +, service was quick. The ambiance was nice. Second, food was average. We order the some appetizers and a the Crazy thing is the 20% gratuity was already added regardless of the number in your party. But, their was a sentence on the menu that said they "would gladly removed the 20% gratuity... Seriously? Anyway would I come here again... not sure...
Emerald Hour is a little pricier, but it is worth it.
The cocktails are amazing, and the food is equally delightful.
That was the best meal we have had in a long time.
Everything was absolutely delicious! I love the Paloma and we started with chicken manchego Croquetas and boiled potatoes with a lovely sauce. Both of those were insanely good. I got the pork shank and my husband got the scallops. Both dishes were wonderful and I can't wait to go back to taste other dishes.

Ask a Question |
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
