BEST RESTAURANT IN TOWN
This a MUST STOP when in town. Absolutely love the food and staff here. Very high quality and upscale but not pretentious. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION

Sorry to say our favorite restaurant is no longer on our list. First off Iour favorite server has left. She was knowledgable and honest with her opinion. Food is not of the same quality and prices are higher. For a night out you better have big bucks. I ended up with a very upset stomach . Be cautious and break your bank if you want to eat her. Maybe you will have better luck than my husband and i did celebrating our anniversary

The food is absolutely delicious. We loved it so much that we visited two times during our 5 day stay. We had the soup of the day and the Chilean sea Bass as well as scallops as an appetizer and everything was delicious.

Our white wine was not cold enough and the bar manager agreed. He suggested putting ice in our glasses. Really! Food was okay. Nothing to write home about!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful for a special occasion
From the time we were seated to paying the bill this was a great experience. It was our 42nd wedding anniversary and they acknowledged it and made us feel special. Starters: escargots and duck confit. Both wonderful - the duck was incredibly flavorful but a huge portion. We saw several diners sharing a starter which would be a good move. Mains: sea bass and elk chop. Again both plates were full of delightful flavors. The elk was also a big portion. Although we did not really need it we chose a dessert to share. The panna cotta was a bit disappointing after the other exceptional dishes. It was a little too set. Would definitely return.

The duck was amazing! the place itself is a historical house from the 1900's service is amazing and they have a huge selection of wines

Delightful and inviting. Foods was amazing, service was great! The whole place is outstanding. Our server Cory was top notch. We enjoyed the lamp, rabbet and the veal!

Two thumbs up! 5 stars. Amazing meal. Escargot and lamb carpaccio were great starters . Lamb loin and Elk for entrees were requested rare and came out perfectly. Good wine suggestion by the server. Really super meal.

The food, the staff, atmosphere was absolutely amazing. The sea bass was perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThe duck was simply amazing!
The food here is top of the line. You can’t go wrong. They have more seating outside that doesn’t show up for online booking, so always call to see if they can squeeze you in outside. Cheers!

Birthday dinner for four was wonderful. Wife and I both had the veal chop. Probably the best chops we've ever had. Daughter and son-in law had the grouper and sea bass. Also very good. Appetizers were small and expensive but very tasty. Huge wine list ranging from $30s to $8K!! A dinner to remember! A little disappointed that for a $450 dinner they couldn't kick in a cup cake and candle for the birthday girl.

Enjoyed second floor seating served by Tony, well versed in wine list and menu. Had the fois gras with a Sauterne. Buttery with nice onion bacon marmalade. Fresh hot bread made it more tasty. The spinach and quail egg salad with hot vinaigrette dressing was delightful. Main course of veal chop with nice risotto and asparagus spears were perfectly done and complimented one another. Had to go with hot French press black coffee and raspberry financier for dessert. Fruity accompaniment to the fresh rich arabica coffee. A wonderful 2 hour experience!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Food quality and taste was on par with Victoria and Alberts and Circa 1886. The rosemary focaccia with rosemary-infused olive oil was the perfect start. The foie gras was one of the best preparations I’ve had. The sea bass was wonderful, with perfectly cooked chunks of lobster. We had and shared four desserts - the cheesecake, the Black Forest, the chocolate, and the banoffee. I typically prefer anything chocolate, and the chocolate dessert was one of the best I’ve had, but I actually liked the cheesecake and banoffee the best - they were just that good! The
Be the first to ReplyFANTASTIC Fig Tree!
Wow! we fell in love with this gem with our Charlotte based daughter the evening of May 6. Lucky us to have the serendipity of Fernando as our amazing magician - he had superb recommendations and was delightful to speak with. It would seem everything on the menu is divine. I will cover our favorites here. We are in search of the best escargot (and don't like it hidden in puff pastry) and Fig Tree's is sublime-little snail flavor bombs bathing in a gorgonzola sauce paired with very fresh (and "worth it") foccacia bread. The filet with stilton and polenta cake was perfection. And Fernando did not steer us wrong with the beignet dessert-a different twist but truly wonderful. Oh- and let's not forget their tasty cocktails (the ginger martini is terrific) and the ginormous wine list-something for everyone. Top it off that this is all executed in a charming and cozy former home-and it is sure to deliver an experience not soon forgotten.
Be the first to ReplyOur Perfect Evening
Thank You for Creating the Perfect Evening Hearing that Charlotte was opening up after the long Covid-19 episode and coming in for a conference I asked Charlotte friends where to go. It had to be a Monday night and the four of us had not seen each other in 3 years. The Fig Tree was what everyone said, so 3 weeks before arriving I called and asked if we could have a quiet space to talk, laugh, share, drink and eat. Assured that could be arranged I scheduled 3 bottles based on the menu and asked that they be ready for us. When we arrived, we were shown a small second floor room and our server introduced herself and brought the chilled bottle of bubbly. It got better from there as we told stories , talked about our businesses and discussed the menu. With some excellent help from the server, and several glasses in, we chose a varied menu: some fish, lamb, foie gras, elk and veal chops. Each dish was superb, and we enjoyed the wines chosen specifically to go along with our choices. It really wasn’t about wine and food though. It was about how much we felt welcomed and appreciated by all the staff . They were happy that we were happy. It was the first and maybe the last time we may eat there , but we were treated as if we were regulars. It is a hallmark that people from different states and The UK can each feel warmly welcomed. Kudos to the staff and management for an extraordinary experience. Joel Pesapane

Our Server Bryant was fabulous! Sorry we called you Brian the entire evening on 4/5/2022! The attention to detail was fantastic. We started with glasses of wine and a Shrams rosé :-) We ordered: White asparagus, one Sea bass, one lamb loin, one octopus, 1 escargots, and 1 veal chop. Bergstrom reds for each diner. Yum & exquisite! Kudos Team. Grateful, Mary & Ned W
Be the first to ReplyOverall Disappointing
The reviews are glowing so perhaps my expectations were too high. Many pluses: cocktails, service, focaccia and my husband really enjoyed the crayfish ravioli starter and scallops entree. My side salad topped with calamari was delightful. My pasta entree was truly horrible. Tasteless may be the best way to describe it. And I didn’t care for their take on cheesecake. If I lived in Charlotte, I would give it another try and hope for a better meal.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent!
My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time Saturday. I was very quaint and the food was excellent. I had a pomegranate martini which was very good. We had the grilled octopus, my husband had the sea bass and I had the ostrich filet. Both of our meals were very flavorful. For dessert we had the basque cheesecake which was delicious. The staff was friendly and made this a wonderful experience for us. We would definitely go back!

In an old house which adds to cozy ambience. Server Susie was terrific. Had escargot in mushroom-sauce (to die for), duck liver pate (a special but they should put on the menu), and grouper with lobster over risotto. Can’t wait to go back. Astonishing wine list. I mean, just WOW.
Be the first to ReplyConsistent First class experience!
Nothing like starting with airy crumb and crisp crusty bread. Dipped in a bit of evoo, dash of salt and black pepper. The sauted fois gras over apple chutney with a glass of sauternes is a marvelous appetizer.
Followed by a baby spinach salad with maple and bacon vinaigrette.
Main of cioppino featured sorrento tomato broth loaded with cod, shrimp, clams, mussels, lobster and scallops with a crostini. As always. Susie was an excellent main server with two associates.
Enjoyable Meal
Good meal and overall experience. Salmon and Osso Buco dishes were well prepared and tasty. Overall service was good, although our waiter could have done a better job offering advice on choosing entree options. The decor could use a refresh to add a little more charm and uniqueness. A few fresh flowers or antique china to brighten things up.
Be the first to ReplyServiceable Cooking
If you stick to the basics you will have a good meal at The Fig Tree. Steak, filet, salads, etc. The service is fine, as is the wine list. Nothing special, however. Serviceable. No masks required here, though the servers wear masks.
Be the first to ReplyCrazy good !
We were lucky enough to get a dinner reservation at this place on a short trip to Charlotte. What a find ! Honestly I cannot say enough good things about the Fig Tree. We were seated on the outdoor patio and it was very pleasant with heaters and lap blankets provided for additional warmth. The service here is superior, which is huge given the staffing issues that seem to be apparent everywhere. The menu offers many unique options rather than the common items that are found at most high end restaurants. Entrées come with soup or salad and pricing is a bit steep but very fair given the quality of the meal. The atmosphere is charming and comfortable on the patio but they also have lovely indoor dining space in small rooms both upstairs and down, along with a cute bar area. Our dinner experience was perfect from start to finish. The owners are doing everything right and we cannot wait to come back again. The location is not downtown so you will have to drive but there is free parking available in their own lot. Do not miss The Fig Tree!

The chief and I went with friends and it was an amazing experience. The staff is well trained and the menu is to die for. The food though was absolutely delicious. Could be one of the best meals we ever had out. The chief and I split a ceaser salad. The bread they brought was crusty and tasty. My friend and I both had the elk chops. My oh my what a delicious dish! The chief had the pork chop which she loved and our other friend had the the sea bass. Everything was well presented and delicious. For dessert I had the cheesecake (and I never eat dessert). The ice creams were wonderful too. Definitely try this place!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Meal
The homemade bread with roasted garlic and olive oil is outstanding. And the flavors of our meal were spectacular. Even the salmon tasted more elegant than any other salmon. And the Lamp Shank was delicious. I forget the crustless cheesecake which lightly melted in my mouth. One of the best meals!!!
