The Georgian Room Santa Monica Reviews from The Last Year
Spectacular Boutique Hotel
My wife and I live nearby and stayed for a one-night staycation. It was really spectacular and I highly recommend the hotel. Top-notch, enthusiastic service. The decor is interesting and fun. It's cool just looking around the hotel and your room at design choices. Location is perfect, we were able to go for a really nice walk on Ocean Ave looking at the ocean. We particurly enjoyed the restaurants and bars, which are incedible for a small boutique hotel.
A Mixed Bag
The rooms here are nice. We initially had an ocean view king room but it was very small and the bathroom was tiny for two people. We were able to get a new room and were in an ocean view suite. That was much nicer for the extra room. Housekeeping was great. One day we didn’t have any service until 4:00 pm when we got back and noticed our room wasn’t cleaned yet and all the room service dishes were still in the room. It was cleaned right when we brought it to the front desk’s attention. We had drinks twice it the lobby bar. This is where things took a turn for us. The staff down here were very unfriendly and made us feel like we were not welcome. We were the only ones there one after afternoon and our waters remained empty and we weren’t offered another drink. This is while there was some sort of training going on near the espresso machine and everybody’s backs were to us the whole time. The hotel itself is beautiful. It is expensive though and we would like to be treated like everyone else that is staying there. This wasn’t the case for us.
Amazing hotel and staff, excellent location, great restaurant and bar
What a fantastic hotel. The staff here is second to none, everyone just so professional, courteous and nice. A shout out to a few of them that really made our stay memorable. Jason, Placido, Travis, Emma, Joshyua, were simply fantastic and we had a great time getting to know each of them a little bit. I know I'm forgetting a few names, but honestly the staff here truly makes this hotel special. Chef David from Sirena Restaurant was also very kind and introduced himself to us, super nice guy, fantastic chef. We were celebrating our 28th anniversary and everything was just perfect. The restaurant, Sirena, at the hotel is outstanding, really superb food and service. Chef David really takes it up another level and you will not be disappointed. One thing, as you check in to the hotel, be sure and walk all the way up the steps, through the restaurant and bar, which is a little odd, and back up and to the right is the reception area. It's a little confusing at first because when you first arrive it looks like you're getting seated for the restaurant. Also, they do have Nespresso machines available for the rooms, but you need to ask the front desk. But this place is in a great location, close to the pier, walking distance to be ON the beach, and close to lots of really great restaurants and things to do. Rooms are very tastefully decorated and it truly is a gem in Santa Monica, just a beautiful hotel all around. We will definitely be back.
Fabulous stay at a beautiful hotel.
The Georgian was our pick for the last night of a luxurious girls’ trip. It was the perfect place for our last hurrah. The front desk welcomes you with Prosecco and everywhere you turn , a friendly staffer is asking if you need anything. Our room was on the 3rd floor and right next to the elevator. Normally, that would be a recipe for too much noise, but it was so quiet we were able to sleep with h our window open. And because of the location, we were able to see the ocean from the window. The amenities were great. The mini bar had excellent offerings and even the ice bucket was a thing of beauty, to say nothing of the beds and the bathroom and the bathrobes and slippers. Every detail was well thought out. We also enjoyed appetizers in the restaurant, late night drinks at the bar and oceanfront breakfast. They added my requested goat cheese to my perfect soft scrambled eggs . The fruit plate was a work of art ( as was the vegetable crudite the afternoon before). The only thing I would change is the yogurt and granola on the room service menu is not available in the restaurant. But other than that, there is nothing I would change other than staying more nights! We spent a lot of time deciding where to stay on this trip and we that research paid off. I can’t wait to come back.
Dreamy terrace! Perfect venue for private gathering.
We held a private business dinner on the terrace & it was absolutely perfect! Every detail was considered from the menu to the table settings. Would highly recommend for other private parties, especially businesses & corporate gatherings. 10/10.
Love The Georgian!
I was extremely excited to see the Georgian following its significant renovations. This property did not disappoint at all, it is truly lovely and easily could be your single destination when travelling to Santa Monica or the west side of Los Angeles. The building is stately! The interiors now feel contemporary, yet still reflect the art deco overtones of the whole property. The staff are genuine and kind (think eye contact and greetings from all). The restaurant we dined at "Restaurant at The Georgian" was intimate but lovely. It was a rainy night and the sound of the rain on the roof over the front porch area was calm and soothing. The food, and service were nice even though it was a little chilly. The Hotel has a gallery on the upper level of the lobby space, really seemed like a destination gallery, a terrific amenity at a boutique property! Our suite provided stellar views of the Pacific across the bluff with a beautiful palm tree right outside the living room window! It took my breath away entering the suite and seeing the view. Every detail is clearly chosen with care and fits the culture of the Hotel. It all just felt authentically - right! I really loved it. I'm a huge fan and I hope you get the chance to experience this Hotel! It's truly worth staying, I only wish I had more time to enjoy.

Last night we had"Spaghetti Sunday" in the Georgian Room at the Georgian Hotel in beautiful Santa Monica. Omg the room itself is just gorgeous and intimate. Then the food started coming... starting with absolutely the best garlic bread we have ever had. Absolutely mouthwatering! The ceaser salad followed and it too was amazing! Spaghetti served family style was superb. We each ( four of us had different mains). Branzino, sausage and onions, chicken parm and the chefs special meatballs. Each one was better than the next. Wonderfully home style at its best. Chef David and his kitchen staff outdid themselves. Ok then the desserts. Mint chocolate ice cream sandwich and apple cobbler dish. We just had to eat them all! If you can get a reservation I say go as soon as you can!!
What an experience! Speakeasy, sexy, old Hollywood vibes.
Great drinks, delicious food, fantastic service and great music. We left after being there for hours then ran into more friends who wanted to check it out so went down for another hour.
Great place to stay in Santa Monica
My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Georgian hotel. The staff was wonderful and the room was great. Can’t go wrong at this place. Highly recommended. The location is also great. The restaurant and bar are also a great place to hang out. Sensational place to stay.

The delicious food, the wonderful service and the incredibly beautiful and iconic setting of the Georgian Room is an experience you won't forget. The Georgian Hotel is equally impressive. The rooms are gorgeous!!
Wish I was Still There!
March 22, 2024 - My son Johnny and I spent 4 nights at The Georgian this week, and it was Fantastic in every respect. Not only is the building gorgeous, the staff welcomes you with enthusiasm, kindness, generosity, and genuine joy. Amanda connected via email weeks before arrival, encouraging us to know that there is nothing they cannot help with - dining, bikes, ideas….. so I knew going in that we were experiencing something unique. Boutique! Once there, we enjoyed spectacular beds with incredible views, amazing breakfasts, a mind-blowing dinner in the speak easy thanks to Amanda and Allen, fun local recommendations by Bre (who was unbelievably fun and helpful with ideas), and then a constant welcoming and check in by Travis, Orlando, Melinda and Jason. Bre was the highlight - always engaging and fun, and challenging us to explore Santa Monica. My son graduates this May heading to college in the Fall. I said “what do you want to do this summer? Portugal? Spain? England?” His response? “I want to come back here, the the Georgian! They are the BEST”.
Gorgeous Experience!
The space is beautiful, the rooms are gorgeous and comfy, the entire staff is incredible and the food/drinks are fantastic. Love a SUPER dog friendly hotel and we felt true hospitality. Definitely going to be where I have family and friends stay while they are in town and will be my go to staycation spot.
11 out of 10
Like stepping back into another world!! Everything curated perfectly with no detail missed! Great food, great drinks, and incredible service!! Bre is a master of turning the simplest moment into an experience, always walking around to add the special touches. The sun setting in the background is pretty great too. Don’t sleep on this place - perfect for a drink, a dinner, or an overnight stay. The Georgian has all the things.
We had a reservation for 8:45.
Didn't get seated until 9:15 after no one answering when we buzzed in. It was not the table we requested but the worst seats at the end of the bar. They said someone wouldn't leave our table so WE left instead.
Where do I begin.
.. if you're looking for amazing food drinks and live music in LA - look no further. First of all I was greeted at the door by a handsome man named Alan. Wow what a great start to the unforgettable night ahead. I walked into the downstairs area and was brought back into the old Hollywood swanky underground world which made me feel like I was in a movie. The band was unbelievable. Let's give it up for Alexandra Starr - she is born to be a performer. That place is lucky to have her. Her energy and charisma is unmatched, she clearly loves what she does. She walked around the bar, hypnotising all of us with her unbelievable voice and magnetic star power . The food was delicious. I had the petite fillet. I wish I took pictures of it to post here but my phone camera was covered with a sticker by the man at the door. After we finished eating, we sat at the bar to listen to the band finish up their next set and got a round of beverages. The bartender made us a drink so good, it had me texting my ex asking for a reconciliation. Thank you Marcello, you're truly a legend. Also shoutout to our server Millie who was incredible and had an amazing energy. Will definitely be coming back on another Saturday night in the near future.
A must experience! Grab a drink or try their amazing food.
1933 original hotel, beautifully designed with gorgeous decor and unique ambiance. Service was outstanding. After realizing we made reservations for the wrong night, the main Hostess was kind and able to seat us. Live music playing, wonderful service, amazing food and a variety of unique cocktails. I will be back
We showed up to the restaurant on time.
After waiting 30 minutes, we were not "escorted" to our table downstairs. Not sure what vibe they are solving for here but given all the other options in Santa Monica, I would not to try this restaurant. Capo for example.
Great vibe! Very much old Hollywood in Santa Monica.
The musical acts were lively but still at a good volume to enjoy some crudo and cocktails (which were outstanding). Super friendly and helpful service. It's expensive but a very fine place to come and splurge.

We tried having a drink here last night and were incredibly disappointed. The spot has a great vibe, and after getting seated we placed a drink order. The bar was not busy whatsoever yet we waited over 35 minutes for our drinks. The bartender every time we looked up was standing around or talking not making any drinks. After asking the waitress as well as the hostess what the holdup was with no drinks still arriving, we walked out. Will not return anytime soon.
I got stood up today, and it's probably the best decision
I got stood up today, and it's probably the best decision she's ever made. I met a beautiful woman in France a few months ago, found out we both lived in LA, and when we both got back States-side, I asked her out. She said yes and I had the perfect reservation: the famed Georgian Room. She stood me up today, but you're not here to read about my dating life (or lack thereof). I was bummed when she backed out, so I asked my buddy Josh to come out for a boys' night. His wife gave him the green light, so we made our way to TGR. Throughout the day, I kept receiving texts that "I was due at the Georgian Room at 8PM sharp," so I took the punctuality seriously. But alas, I was misled. We get to the Georgian Hotel at 8:05, and there seems to be some issue with my reservation. I'm left in the dark, and we are asked to take a seat at the hotel bar. Zero communication, no free drinks, and in fact, not even a feigned apology. We are then escorted at 8:25, almost a full half-hour after my reservation, downstairs. The décor is nice, though it feels a bit cramped and a bit loud (more on this later). Since it's just the two of us, we are seated at the end of the bar. A lot of hoopla is made about not taking pictures, and exclusivity, and all that, but the clientele seems pretty standard Santa Monica fare. Old men with overly-young women, the occasional business meeting, and a few dates are sprinkled throughout. It was a boys' night and I had a rough day, so whisky was in order. And we were in a speakeasy-inspired joint, after all. We start out with drinks: their signature rum-infused twist on the classic Old Fashioned. This was okay-ish, but overly sweet and difficult to drink. It was served in one of those awkward cognac goblets that made me paranoid I was constantly dribbling the Nectar of the Gods on my lapel. I wasn't particularly hungry, and neither was my compatriot, so we decided to just do a few rounds of oysters, the tuna tartare, and other small bites. Our waitress, an intimidating brunette, immediately shunned us: "we like to get the entire order up front!" Well, you see, I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, how hungry I am, and at a place of this caliber, I would expect service to be free flowing and natural. We're about to spend more than $200 dollars a head, can I at least try to enjoy myself? Besides, I just got stood up, lady! We got more drinks. Maybe more libations would lubricate our rocky relationship with our raucous waitress. This time, we get two traditional Old Fashioneds. The bourbon offering is sparse, but adequate. The drink is well-balanced, but missing a key ingredient: the Maraschino cherry. Now, to the uninitiated, this may seem like a small nit, but I assure you that it's not. The cherry is as key to the Old Fashioned as the olive is to the Martini. And then the music started. As mentioned, we were at the end of the bar, right next to the piano and what would later be a makeshift band: full with a bass player and a vocalist. Now, for the record, I'm a big fan of live music. I think Los Angeles could improve not just because of the dating scene (seriously, I can't believe she bailed on me!), but because compared to cities like New York or Chicago, it's so dang hard to find live music. But this is absolutely not the way to do it. When I say the "music was loud" I don't mean loud in the way your grandpa means it. I mean it in the sense that me and my friend (two fully grown strapping young lads) had to literally yell at the top of our lungs to hear one another. The musicians were perfectly nice people, and we made some small talk with the three of them, but this is a clear lapse on the part of management. It's beyond distracting and thank God I didn't have a girl with me, because it would've been extremely disruptive. The music choice itself was also, shall we say, odd. It wasn't vibe-y jazz or blues. It was a strange mish-mash of modern songs at a slower pace. Overall: too much singing, too loud, too incongruous with the look and feel. Our drinks were empty and we had to flag down our waitress to get a re-up. This time, I asked about the cherry, and she reassured me that they do indeed have Maraschinos. Spoiler alert: they do not. The cherries in our subsequent drinks were decidedly not the right ones. It may seem like I'm being nit-picky, but when a place can't even get a classic cocktail right, it's disappointing to say the least. A few more drinks and oysters, and we called it a night. Overall, service was poor, from the mishandled reservation time, to the oddly discourteous waitress, drinks were mediocre, music was loud. And, this might be personal taste, but for the love of all that is classy, please impose a dress code. There were a handful of men wearing graphic tees. Talk about a vibe-killer. And if my French crush ever reads this, standing me up was clearly the right thing to do, even if it was just to get out of going to The Georgian Room.

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
