Poor location
While the ambiance was decent and the waiter was courteous and professional in carrying out his duties, unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. Having visited other Keg locations across Canada, it's evident that this particular one falls short in comparison.
Happy birthday Julie
Enjoyed our dinner there to celebrate my granddaughter's birthday. Service was excellent from our server Jason. I ordered a burger which was delicious. Rosie ordered the same. Started with a ceasar salad...Rosie ordered and enjoyed a baked cheese bread. For dessert we shared a tasty,but small, piece of cheesecake with raspberry topping. Everyone enjoyed their food on this happy occasion.
Great meal and service!
Had a great meal here! A bit loud in the downstairs section so if noise bothers you maybe ask for a quieter area to sit. My son has food allergies and they were very accommodating and made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend if in this area. Walkable to many of the area hotels.
The Keg as you would expect
Visited the establishment for Christmas Eve with my partner. Made prior reservations which made the entire arrival process much smoother. We were quickly seated and introduced to our server. Drinks, appetizers and main meals were all served in a timely manner and everything tasted as you would expect from The Keg. Food and drinks were great. Conveniently located near the pedestrian strip and the major hotels. Would recommend and return.
Lasting quality
We were placed at a nice corner table before the place filled up. Idile, our pleasant server brought us a couple of celebratory glasses of Prosecco on the occasion of our wedding anniversary as was done in the same restaurant 8 years ago. The roast beef and fillet mignon was prepared to perfection with copious, tasty vegetables. You can't go wrong with The Keg's quality over the years for service or food.
Upper scale choice when staying near the main train station
My wife and I found this place reviewed on Tripadvisor and it seemed like a good choice to try, after eating at the hotel our first night in Montreal. It took a bit of a walk and some wrong turns, but eventually we got here. We were seated quickly, and our orders taken in short order. We both started with the classic Caeser Salad, and then moved on to our entrees- the 7 ounce filets. Both were included as a "Keg Classic" combination, which included sauteed mushrooms. Everything was delicious and filling, but not so filling as to rule out dessert of a lemon tart that was shared. Combined with two soft drinks and a capucino, the total before tax and tip was 136CDN. We would consider the price paid pretty much even with a city like New York, and we felt that the meal while bit pricey was worth it. Service was excellent and quality and taste well above average.
Great Food & Service
Returned to The Keg when we visited Montreal again. Cannot fault this place at all. Superb staff, fabulous food, great ambiance. It's always busy and that says a lot. Staff are so helpful and informative regarding menus etc. The food is first class - highly recommend the steak/salmon/ribs/calamari/salads - in fact, whatever you get will be great! Returned again a week later and received the same great service and high quality food. Would return in a heartbeat should we ever come back to Montreal.
Disappointing
We are disappointed after returning to the Keg. Food too heavy and spicy. Very noisy room and fairly slow service. You have to stay on the grill. Prices have increased significantly.
Great find in Montreal
Fabulous- From the moment we entered and we were greeted by the general manager- we were seated in the bar area - server knew the menu and suggested the specials (lobster). We had the prime rib- an ample portion. The bill was reasonable. We liked it so much we came back another night
