The Matheson Healdsburg Reviews
Hats off to The Matheson.
An understated building right off of the downtown Healdsburg square, this restaurant takes over a large portion of the block, but you would never know. We started off at their rooftop bar, Roof 106, for drinks before dinner. This is a happening place
Worth one visit and not again.
The ambience was loud, the service was slow and poorly informed (what percentage of fat in the Wagyu beef?); the cuisine was mediocre (Wagyu hamburger (cold poorly integrated ingredients and bun not toasted), tempura mushrooms (cold)). Poor dinning v

Ambiance is great until.
.. it takes you over two over to receive your entree and it comes out as a kids portion. Also the wine is just average.

It was too warm inside, uncomfortable.
The pizzas are boring and the fries are too thick. Service is hit and miss. But it is a very pretty space.

I can not imagine a better meal/experience than our first visit to The Matheson. We actually ate upstairs at Rooftop 106, where the ambiance is amazing. The service was incredible, with our food allergies and every need attended to with detail, and
Good wine and food options.
Also right at the square which is terrific. So why the 2 stars? They auto charged our group of 4pp 20% tip without telling us. We didn't realize until we got home that we had inadvertently tipped them TWICE (40%) because they didn't le

Very nice experience
The location on the town square is perfect. Lovely bar and dining room - tables are not too close together which is a refreshing change. Staff are great and knowledgeable - menu has all sorts of great things on it and the food is excellent. The iPad
Great Experience
Literally the best burger I have ever had (and I’ve had a few). My wife concurs. The service was also good and the ambiance was also fantastic.
Amazing happy hour in Healdsburg
This was our third visit to The Matheson and can't recommend it highly enough. All 3 times we went for their happy hour at the bar. The food is delicious (great burger and everything else we tried) and reasonably priced. But the star is the ~88
Horribly long waits for service, terrible prime rib.
This restaurant came highly recommended. Our server was very nice, did a good job and her staff were great also. The problem was time. Close to an hour went by between salad and dinner. Dessert was going the same way. I finally had to go find them an

Food was okay.
We celebrated at friends birthday and the server didn't offer desert just gave us the bill. After an evening of drinks and fun, it didn't register until after we already paid. Food was good. Nothing to write home about however.

I'm giving it 4 stars because out of the 3 plates we ordered one was not as good. The service was excellent, since the minute we showed up without a reservation they were able to accommodate us and the attention we received from Zaide, our waitress,
We went for happy hour at the bar downstairs.
The wine was (unfortunately) rather disappointing (may be just the happy hour selection)...but the pizza was another story and saved the day! On the happy hour menu only is an amazing cheese pizza (we don't eat meat), but the other vegetarian option

We arrived a couple of minutes before our reservation but we were seated immediately. Water was poured and we received menus and a tablet. The tablet had hundreds of bottles of wine, wine by the glass, an extensive spirits list and specialty cocktail

Excellent.
We went during restaurant week and had the $55 fixed menu. Great value. Started with a very tasty carbonara, followed by a wonderful pork chop and then desert. My wife had s'mores and I had a panecota - all very nice. The staff were great. John th

The Matheson is proof that I need to spend more time in Healdsburg. It's a fun spot for dinner and drinks. They offer an extensive wine list (on an iPad because there's so many choices), as well as some fun cocktails. I opted for the Foolish Behavior
Great experience for non - special occasions. Avoid special occasions such as prefix Valentines Day Meals...
The Matheson is typically a 5 star rating on normal dining times. I do not recommend them for special occasions such as Valentines Day... One out of the six small plate offerings were quite good. None of the other offerings met the requirements o
Great food and staff ruined by the loud music

Each of us ordered an appetizer and an entree; we shared an order of milk bread and root vegetables. Three of us ordered drinks as well. When all four of us were still hungry after we ate, that seems wrong. (BTW, we're all petite women who weigh u
Magnificent
I went Friday, about 5:30PM. No waiting with reservations. I had the Tomato Salad which came with some wonderful soft cheese. Then, I had the Halibut served on top of sauteed veggies. Delicious. I finished with a tasty Strawberry Rhubarb Cheese Cake.
Great drinks and vegetarian friendly bites
This is a great spot to have drinks and appetizers in the open area upstairs. I went with my girlfriends for a weekend getaway. We loved the drinks and vegetarian friendly food options. The spot was modern and chic.
Don’t miss!
Loved everything we ordered. Each dish was truly fresh and multifaceted. The components perfectly complemented the main item. We shared the beets, bread, halibut, mariscos, and chocolate dessert. I’d order each one again, except that I’d love to
Come here to see and be seen drinking wine but eat elsewhere.
We were excited to come for dinner after reading the reviews but were disappointed with so many things. First off, one of us is on a low to no sodium diet and we indicated this twice when making the reservation and again when they sent an email to co

Unfortunately, not as good as we had hoped

Great spot with a great vibe.
We were "wined" out so started off with some cocktails. They were done to perfection. Started off with some bread. What made this so great was the cold fresh butter with some salt. So good. We went right into the mains, and had the black co

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to The Matheson Healdsburg at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the The Matheson Healdsburg page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at The Matheson Healdsburg to secure the table.

* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection

* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at The Matheson Healdsburg!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
