Best lobster roll on the island, maybe in New England.
Perfect at both their in town location and their truck at Cisco brewery. Attentive and nice service as well.
First time visitor yesterday and it was great.
We arrived at 2:47 pm, just 13 minutes before their kitchen closes for a break and to prepare for dinner service. It would have been completely understandable for them to send us away, but they welcomed us graciously. We started with bacon wrapped, stuffed shrimp. They were fresh and fantastic. We shared the 1.5 lb boiled lobster and it was great as well. In hindsight, the 1.5 lb meal could be eaten by just one person, but it was adequate to share. Painkiller cocktails were as good as you would find in a Caribbean beach bar. It was a great meal and the staff could not have been nicer.

Dined at the Nantucket Lobster Trap on a Wednesday for a late lunch. Service was inattentive and food was mediocre at best- had the fries (have seasoning salt in them- not mentioned on menu) and chowder. Was going to order a lobster roll, but it took so long for the waitress to return we just decided to move on. And the ant in the salt was a disappointment. I would not eat here again.
Great seafood restaurant!
We had a great dinner here. The waitress Mary was so nice and customized my order withe the kitchen so that I could get the delicious jerk chicken . My boyfriend had the seafood plate and said it was great . We have been dining all over the island and all the fancy places and this one was one of our best meals and not as pricey as the others.
Go elsewhere for lobster
Staff was friendly and provided good service. Clams casino were fine. Lobster bake was a disappointment. The clams, mussels and steamers were good. The lobster was flavorless and mushy. Total disappointment.
Service was great, food was not.
We each ordered the lobster roll and we shared the steamer appetizer. The steamers were pretty good but the serving was extremely small for the $26 price tag, maybe 10 or 12 total. The lobster rolls were $45 (pretty standard price) but they were not even full. Both of ours together should have been 1 and the lobster had no flavor. Will not go back.

We chose The Lobster Trap because it was within walking distance from our hotel and showed as open on both Yelp and their website. Unfortunately, when we got there, the main restaurant was closed. Thankfully, they had a window service operating, so we were still able to grab some takeout. The person at the window was very soft-spoken and didn't really explain the menu or our options, which made ordering a bit confusing. We found a nearby spot to sit and eat. The lobster roll was tasty - hard to go wrong with one, but the portion was surprisingly small for the price. Overall, while the food was decent, the window service experience left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't recommend it based on that alone.
Best lobster roll
Best lobster roll with the best price on the island, also try the whole lobster was very good with the corn sweet potato fries
Highly recommend The Nantucket Lobster Trap id your craving
Highly recommend The Nantucket Lobster Trap id your craving a lobster roll! They serve them with butter or mayo. I got the butter version (Connecticut Style). We sat on the patio which was perfect with the great weather. The staff were nice but not very helpful or attentive. But if you want great food that doesn't break the bank like many of the restaurants on Nantucket, this is the place!

My family and I got some great seafood from this truck while we were at Cisco. The oysters, in particular, were delicious, and I got seconds and thirds on them. They were so fresh. I also liked my lobster roll a lot. It was straight to the point, and that's how I like 'em. Relatively quick service, too. They know how to keep the line moving.
The food and service was amazing!! Great authentic lobster
The food and service was amazing!! Great authentic lobster shack! We had lobsters and chowder! It was delicious!

I didn't realize these spots closed in the middle of the day and I wasn't ready to eat until 3pm. Thankfully this spot was available for take out only! I got the Connecticut style warm lobster roll with garlic butter. It came with a side of fries and coleslaw. They were super friendly and quick too but made fresh. I walked back to my cottage to enjoy it and it was still warm. Everything was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed every bite. The coleslaw could do with some seasoning, but nothing to gripe about.

Omg we got the appetizer seafood tower, no regrets it was so good. Main course's excellent too. It's expensive but what on Nantucket isn't.
Casual, friendly & delicious
Casual & friendly with delicious food - the best lobster roll Iโve ever had. Servers were brilliant - attentive and very friendly. We had a great time and it was nice to get away from the snootiness of other restaurants! Highly recommend.
Ok I cheated: we didn't get tue LOBSTER TRAP's lobster roll.
What we uad were made to order and were great nonetheless. FISH AND CHIPS. The fish used was great! The batter was yummy and held together very well. The fish was flaky. The chips were perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. SHRIMP CHIPS was a great choice. Crunchy, juicy and full of flavor. Im embarrassed to say we had CHICKEN FIGG NO ERS but we had kids, what can I say. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned too. Takeout window only during lunch.
Must go! Best Lobster Pot!!!
I donโt understand how this place isnโt rated higher. Service was greatโฆ drinks were excellentโฆ and the lobster โboilโ was perfectly prepared. Not a single complaint!!!!
Less fried food, bring back the delicious pan seared fish!
We have always loved the Lobster Trap until recently. We used to love getting fresh fish, as well as lobster. Now most of the fish is fried and they donโt even let your substitute French fries for something healthier. We would love to have the pan seared haddock (or halibut, I forgot which) and wild rice with veggies back on the menu. Itโs just too fried and not flexibleโฆ

Our family ordered clambakes from this restaurant and were so disappointed. There was hardly any food in the containers, majority of the clams were not edible, lobsters were over cooked, half the orders were wrong or even missing AND they charged gratuity for takeout! It was a complete waste of money. THEN we went to Cisco brewery, turns out they have a food truck there. We ordered chicken fingers and the chicken was literally raw. Completely raw. I could not believe it. They would not reimburse us but wanted to remake the chicken for us. Like I want to eat their food now.
