Birthday celebration
Lovely afternoon tea service was excellent I should have taken the server's name to acknowledge him. From approaching the Dorchester and in side constantly greeted with pleasantries. The afternoon tea is in the promenade with exceptionally beautiful display of flowers, scent and furnishing.I had notice a dirty glass once the server was notified it was replaced swiftly with an apology. The actual tea was a serving of unlimited sandwiches personal preference would be nice to have a carnation chicken sandwich rather than just roast chicken.Scones and conserves were lovely but I did not like the texture of the cream. There was no actual cake it was just sweet offerings decorated with fruit, which were nice but they should be at least one piece of sponge cake.At no time did I feel rushed like at other establishments that serve an afternoon tea.Because it was a birthday celebration a candlelit cape was presented which was totally unexpected. To get to the ladies toilets you have to go up a set of stairs and then go down another set of stairs whereas the men's toilet is on one level.Uneaten cakes where packed beautifully to be taken homeI would book this venue again. Short bus ride to Knightsbridge if you want to go shopping afterwards

We had the most memorable Motherโs day Afternoon Tea attended by Anuar. It was a very busy day, arrived and was seated promptly to our table, a nice round table by the wall with a great view of the Promenade, it is beautiful with all the paintings and fabulous sparkly Liberace piano ! Menu was explained well, Sandwiches were delicious, my favourite was duck egg and goat cheese tart, scones with clotted cream and Strawberry jam and Apricot were divine, I live for the scones ! Weโre not crazy about the pastries thoughโฆโฆ and it wasnโt inventive. Was recommended Darjeeling tea and it was perfect with milk. Tea was refilled regularly and the Motherโs Day gift was cute. Again, special mention to the server, he was gracious, classy and respectful and made every single one of us feels welcome and at ease but not feeling left out as it was a Womanโs Day week and Motherโs Day but didnโt forget that my husband was there too, thank you Anuar. The way he did his job, or shall I say his performance ? he owned the floor, people can see that he likes what he do and took pride in it, someone like him should be celebrated, heโs one of a kind, the kind of employee you should cherish. Thank you The Dorchester for a memorable day.
Be the first to ReplyIt has to be The Promenade at the Dorchester!
A fabulous afternoon tea. The best there is, if you want something truly special then it has to be the Promenade at the Dorchester. To make it extra special try and get Anuar as your waiter- heโs simply fabulous!
Be the first to ReplyBirthday breakfast
I visited today for my birthday and the service was exceptional, from the front of house staff to our waiter Anuar. Anuar was attentive and extremely polite and made me feel really special on my birthday. He was also very funny and definitely made the experience memorable. The food was delicious and big portions. It was my first time coming and it did not disappoint. I will be returning and recommending to friends! Thanks
Be the first to ReplyGreat Experience, with good food and service
We had a lovely breakfast with the family, with good food. Our waiter, Anuar was excellent, with exceptional service. We will be returning.
Be the first to ReplyA very special evening
This was my second visit to the Promenade. My first visit was for a business lunch and I donโt think that I chose well. However, the second visit was for dinner and it was superb. The Halibut and Chicken with Langoustine prawns were stand out dishes. All served in the amazing setting of the Promenade. Great service from Danny made for a perfect evening. Many thanks to Sophie and Luke for making all the arrangements. We felt very special and that is the reason to eat at the Dorchester.
Be the first to ReplyStill as amazing as ever!
My Mum wanted to return to Afternoon Tea at the Dorchester as she has many happy memories and it did not disappoint! Still the attentive wait staff without being overbearing, delicious food and tea. It is a beautiful setting and definitely worth a visit. The desserts look nice but aren't the tastiest, but by the time you're wanting to eat them you are beyond full!
Be the first to ReplyWarm and friendly staff
Very opulent interior with warm welcome from all the staff who were very attention. We booked for the promenade restaurant, however we were not aware we needed to book the bar if we wanted to sit and have a drink in there before our meal. The food was pleasant, however no wow factor, no taste surprise. The service was excellent, staff approachable and friendly. There did appear to a dress code anymore.
Be the first to ReplySpectacular Afternoon tea
The afternoon tea is spectacular- lovely food, amazing ambiance and decor and very attentive staff. Harry in particular made our experience extra special- thank you. A memorable experience.
Be the first to ReplyDidn't meet our expectations
A wonderful atmospheric hotel. We visited for the festive afternoon tea on a busy Saturday afternoon just before Christmas. We enjoyed our cocktails and the service we received in the cocktail bar but we were left a little underwhelmed by the service in the Promenade. Having spent the evening dining at The Ritz the previous day we were mistakenly expecting similar standards. The quality of the afternoon tea (at ยฃ135 per person) was ok but unimaginative in terms of content and presentation. Although double the price of most afternoon teas I've had previously, this was not as good. The room itself was impressive and well dressed for Christmas and we felt that we were somewhere special, but the highlight of our visit was not the food or the service, but exchanging a brief 'hello' with Brian May as he passed our table. We nonetheless enjoyed our visit and award a generous 'very good' rating.
Be the first to ReplyFood Poisoning at New Years Eve Promenade
I got food poisoning after eating the set menu of the Promenade for New year's Eve. The food tasted very bad and off. I was vomiting 15 times in the ladies bathroom. They refused to call a doctor to come to the hotel as they said there is an extra cost. For your safety do not go there. If something happens to you they call the public ambulance who is always on strike in the uk and leave you there without following instructions to call 111. Their kitchen has a serious issue as there are other people who got food poisoning there too who write reviews about it. I had to be hospitalised for two days 5,500ยฃ and they refuse to pay the bill. In the end I found a private ambulance company to take me to Harley Street Clinic myself. I will never go there again.
Be the first to ReplyImpressive hotel interior
Fit for royalty, quite stunning and the most impressive display of flowers ever. Perfect setting for afternoon tea.

Such a beautiful bar, stunning decor, live music, service impeccable, lovely ambience, we shall return.
Be the first to Replysimply stunning all round
My friends and I had a gorgeous breakfast at The Dorchester on a Saturday morning. I believe the promenade is being renovated so we were in the orchid room which was absolutely stunning. French toast was divine and great selection of pastries. Although this is a high end place, there isnโt a feeling of pretentiousness in my opinion which I really like. Staff were amazing. Came to around ยฃ30, worth it for the experience.
Be the first to ReplyA beautiful place to enjoy a Tea experience
The staff had no issues seating a party of eight and were exceptionally attentive and professional throughout. As well as the service, the live classical music added to the experience. Top class presentation. We hope to return soon.
Be the first to ReplyTea gone offโฆ
When I first visited some 6 years ago this tea was a thing of wonder and beauty. This time Iโm afraid it really was not. A hot day to be sure, but dry bread on the sandwiches which had clearly been made some time previously and slightly stale scones not good. The cakes were nothing like as exotic and beautiful as before. Overall ยฃ75 felt like an awful lot for something really very average. I will spend that amount on a very good meal. Great service however. Sorry but this is the end and sadly it must be left for the tourists alone. All good things must pass.
Be the first to ReplyJubilee afternoon tea
I visited the Orchid room at the Dorchester as part of the jubilee celebrations in London. My party had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and friendly, the pianist and violinist were brilliant and the food was delicious. We were made to feel very special. The fruit cake to take home is a lovely touch (unfortunately we can't comment on its taste as it was confiscated from us when we went to our evening event but it looked beautiful). We definitely will come back when we visit London again. I particularly liked the savoury selection and all the sweet treats were delicious.

I was not eating at this restaurant so I canโt speak about the food. But I would like to share my experience concerning the service. I had a reservation for the 31st of October 2021 at the restaurant Promenade at The Dorchester, I booked a table via TripAdvisor, but there was some kind of misunderstanding during the booking so I went to the restaurant to clear it out. The reception team canceled my reservation with a promise that my credit card wonโt be charged (adding the cancellation). Few days later I got a notice from my bank that my card was charged by 60ยฃ. I was writing to the restaurant 2 letters and I was totally ignored. And you know what is the sad part, if they would have said, okay sorry we canโt cancel it, I would have have stayed at least for some drinks.

Loved this place.
Amazing Ambience, delicious food.
The risotto was the best along with the steaks.
Date pudding was awesome. Had one of the best Passion fruit mojitos.
We were a big group of 9 adults and 8 children.
The staff was amazing especially the Kenyan guy with Spects. Simply excellent place and food.
An amazing meal, with great service and ambiance
We were in the Orchid room, as the promenade is now undergoing renevation.
We had am amazing experience, with excellent service. Our server Redenn was great, and the whole ambiance was amazing. Would highly recommend this!
Elegant surroundings and incredible service made our Valentines Anniversary High Tea a magical experience!
My husband and I chose The Promenade as the place where we wanted to celebrate our anniversary and Valentine's Day. We had an absolutely magical afternoon! The Promenade itself is such a beautiful room and we have been coming here since 1995. Our waiter, Omondi, offered us unparalleled service. Right from the moment we sat down he made us feel special and he continued to pamper us throughout our entire tea. Everyone, from the hostesses to all staff members, were all top notch. The Valentine's Tea itself was excellent, from the wide selection of teas, to the salmon and caviar (mouth watering) to the interesting selection of finger sandwiches. My husband had seconds and even thirds of one of the sandwiches! Needless to say we were very full by the time we got to the pastry tray. Omondi packaged everything up for us, including a very special anniversary cake. As we were leaving, I was presented with a beautiful rose, which opened up beautifully in our hotel room. The music by the piano player was soothing and atmospheric. He played a Lionel Richie song that we requested. Thank you Lewis Hunter for your handwritten note. Thank you to everyone at the Dorchester!
Be the first to ReplyWas Spoiled
Visited this restaurant for lunch to celebrate my birthday. The lunch reservation was quite detailed and involved not only taking down the details of my monetary gift card but also a credit card. On arrival at the Dorchester the foyer staff and Maitre D were welcoming and professional. 10 mins into our sitting down I had a waiter approach us demanding the gift card. I felt somewhat insulted. I was treated as if I had just walked in off the street with a fabricated gift card. This really spoiled my celebration . The meal was oK and well presented . I really regretted choosing the Dorchester to celebrate my birthday.
Be the first to ReplyIt's gone downhill.
The staff don't wear masks (why not - they're serving food and it's a basic hygiene measure?). Too many drunks at the bar, very loud and the staff saying nothing to keep them quiet. Cranberry juice watered down. Cost cutting on dishes (smaller now). It's a shame.

Be the first to ReplyMAGICAL Festive Afternoon tea experience
I am writing to praise two members of your staff. My partner and I attended the Christmas Carol afternoon tea on Saturday 20th December and we had a magical experience.
Meghan (supervisor) and our waiter Redeaa went above and beyond to make our anniversary celebration special. Your guests visit The Dorchester, not only for the exceptional food and drink menu, but for the immaculate experience which is made possible by the staff.
My dietary requirements were not noted, but Meghan ensured the chef organised sandwiches using the ingredients I was happy with. She kept us updated and provided complimentary drinks as we waited. Meghanโ attention to detail and the way she dealt with an issue was outstanding.
Our waiter Redeaa was ever so accommodating and also went above and beyond for us from start to finish. He was so apologetic regarding my sandwiches, even though it was no fault of his own. He is such a warm hearted member of staff and it was interesting speaking to him about the Philippines. He made our experience special and we have decided we will be back for the same afternoon tea experience next year during the festive period. We will make it a yearly festive tradition and this is all down to your selfless and outstanding staff members above.
We do hope both staff members would be praised and provided a copy of our email.
Best wishes
