The Red Fox Boston Reviews
Management doesnโt care about your group if there is a private party going on. Donโt be 10-15 mins early for a 5 pm resi
We didn't have the best time there. Our server (brunette female) was great--exceptional, but the hostess and manager on duty were seemingly inexperienced and came of with an air of entitlement. We came 10 -15 minutes before our 5 PM reservation and were told to wait outside which was a little odd. The tone of this ask was not industry standard... "you'll need to wait outside" is something I've never experienced. In and of itself would've forgotten about it, but to be treated rudely by the management later was unexpected. There was a private party that started a little after we were seated. Earlier in the night, we were told where the bathrooms were, which were in the back room (this is where the party eventually took place.) When the kids went to the restroom after we paid the bill, we were scolded for going to the restroom in the back room (which is where we were told to go before the party got there.) Once that party started, we were a total afterthought. Definitely undervalued our business. We thought this would be a nice early dinner before seeing a show with our children. Left a bad taste, for sure. I'd pass if you were considering this for a pre-show spot on a weekday. Food was fine. I got the rigatoni and was told they don't allow you to add protein to it. Odd. But wouldn't have been a dealbreaker if the management were nicer. The most interesting and yummy thing we got was the Zeppole appetizer. I'd recommend trying the appetizer if you do go
Amazing food
Came here with a group of 6, the Italian food here was delicious, including the chicken Parm and especially the Lasagne!
Speakeasy Vibes with delicious food
This is our second experience in the last month and everything was perfect once again! Service was impeccable, and the food was scrumptious. Loved celebrating our BU grad at The Red Fox!
Horrible experience
As a wine connoisseur, I was excited to enjoy a bottle from their selection. Unfortunately, the staff served the wrong bottle, and when I politely pointed it out, the manager was dismissive and rude rather than addressing the mistake professionally. Mistakes happen, but the way they are handled makes all the difference. A great dining experience is about both the food and hospitalityโsadly, the lack of proper service overshadowed everything. I hope they improve their customer service because the atmosphere and menu have potential. The manager was beyond dismissive and whoever owns the restaurant should think about the hands they leave it in.
Cool Italian Speakeasy
The Red Fox is a speakeasy nestled in the North End. They serve great Italian food and the vibe is really unique. Itโs dark, moody and has a great playlist. For food, keep in mind that the pastas are relatively small. My group opted to share everything. For apps we loved the rucola salad and the strangolapretti, which are little, crunchy spinach dumplings. For mains, we went with the rigatoni vodka, the pesto orecchiette and the spaghetti limone. All so different from one another and so delicious!

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to The Red Fox Boston at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the The Red Fox Boston page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* PerceptiveWash44, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* PerceptiveWash44 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to PerceptiveWash44 for any questions Peter may have as PerceptiveWash44 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* PerceptiveWash44 now uses their connections at The Red Fox Boston to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If PerceptiveWash44 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, PerceptiveWash44 receives the $200 reward which is credited to PerceptiveWash44's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at The Red Fox Boston!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
