Modern luxury in the heart NYC’s most vibrant neighborhood!
We spent Saturday night at the Nomad Ritz Carlton for my wife’s birthday. It’s everything you expect and more from a modern luxury hotel. Everyone who works there is professional and made us feel welcome and special. We’d like to give a big thanks to Claudia for all that she did to recognize my wife’s birthday and make our visit there a memorable one. Joy the concierge was also very helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful. Lobby bar is classy and inviting and surprisingly not ridiculously expensive. The rooftop bar Nubeluz has phenomenal views. We had after dinner drinks there and definitely a wow factor. Rooms are super clean, well appointed, have a great city view and comfy seating area by the floor to ceiling windows. Overall a great stay and nearby is Chelsea, the Highline, Hudson Yards and SoHo. We look forward to returning.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing Lack of Resolution: Ritz Carlton NoMad's VIP Treatment Falls Flat
Our recent experience at The Ritz Carlton NoMad left us not only shocked but deeply disappointed in the lack of resolution and accountability displayed by the management team. After investing significant resources in hosting an event at Nubeluz, an establishment within the Ritz Carlton property, our evening took a distressing turn when we encountered blatant verbal harassment and racial profiling by the hotel's security personnel. On the rainy evening of April 2nd in NYC, myself and two of our team members, including a person of color, were subjected to unwarranted interrogation and hostility while simply waiting for our Uber outside the hotel entrance. Despite being under the watchful gaze of security cameras, the security staff aggressively approached us, questioning our presence and accusing us of unauthorized use of hotel property. The intensity of their tone and demeanor was alarming, drawing the attention of other guests of both the hotel and of prominent media who were guests of our event who witnessed the distressing exchange and came over to ask if we were ok. Even more disheartening was the dismissive response from hotel management, who not only failed to address the situation with seriousness but also callously laughed off our concerns. Promises of follow-up and investigation were made, but to our dismay, they turned out to be empty assurances. Despite repeated attempts to seek resolution, including reaching out to the General Manager, Bastian Germer, we have received no apology, no acknowledgment of our ordeal, and no resolution. The lack of accountability displayed by The Ritz Carlton NoMad is not an isolated incident. A quick search on review platforms like TripAdvisor, Google, and Yelp reveals numerous similar complaints of guests being harassed and intimidated by hotel security. As individuals working in media, we understand the importance of reputation, yet it seems this concept holds little value to the management of The Ritz Carlton NoMad. The VIP treatment we expected from such a prestigious establishment has been replaced with disappointment and disgust. In conclusion, our experience at The Ritz Carlton NoMad has tarnished our perception of the brand irreparably. Until genuine efforts are made to address issues of discrimination and mistreatment, we cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to others.

First time at the Nomad and it did not disappoint. Usually stay at one of the Conrad locations as they are all suites so it’s great to have the space. Booked here and my Suite Night Awards cleared so got a handsome upgrade which helped set the stage. Club level is world class and the offering is the best I have seen, including the RC’s in Asia. Highly recommend the splurge for the f & b, the views and more importantly the service. Can’s single out anyone as they were all wonderful. Gym is fine, lobby is understated and the bell guys do a great job of welcoming you in. Will be back for sure!

ate at the Mediterranean restaurant on the ground floor, exceptional: great service, great menu choice, great layout and decor

Overall, my stay at this property was great. The space is beautiful, most everyone is friendly (especially the entire team working in the spa, such as the front desk, cleaning, and masseuses) and requests were usually fulfilled quickly. The area where I would dock the team down a star is how guests are treated. With my experience specifically, I experienced a not-so-micro-aggression when my friend and I were walking through the lobby. I then escalated this to guest relations, a woman named Tess (I think?) who thanked me for the feedback and credited my room with credit to use on the property. While I appreciate the gesture, I really want to emphasize that this should really be a learning opportunity for the entire team at NoMad and other Ritz properties. The woman I escalated this to had highlighted that the individual who made the comment was not directly employed with the Ritz, but that should not matter. All individuals working for the property should be treated as a team; you do not accept praise about employees when they’ve done well but then disown them when they’ve made a mistake. I don’t blame the employee for making this presumably well-intended comment, as it’s possible they have not had an opportunity to understand their actions until now. I really believe that this should be on the property and experience managers as they sit much higher up and have a much bigger influence on how the property should be run. I can only hope the team truly tries to invest in DEI training for all employees and also hope that handing out credit and freebies does not rectify these sorts of actions. Unfortunately, this happened the morning of checkout so it’s left quite a sour taste in my mouth and now overshadows the rest of my stay here.
Be the first to ReplyThey damaged my car while we were there. Promised that they would fix it and now won’t respond to us.
My car was damaged with the valet and no one will get back to us. We have all the proof they asked for and gave them time to investigate but they won’t reimburse us or even call us back at this point. Very poor customer service. We are very frustrated

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 4 nights here. A stunning brand new hotel with all the luxuries we had hoped for. Fabulous service (thank you Dan) and a beautiful room with the best view. Loved the bathroom, bath ammenities , robe and minibar. Highly recommend hotel in a great location.

Sleek, modern, luxurious are all ways to describe The Ritz-Carlton, NoMad. Break-taking views paired with unparalleled service makes this hotel undoubtedly the top of NYC’s luxury market. The dining is great, club is relaxing and an oasis, and the entire team from doorman to front desk to housekeeping to the club lounge exude hospitality at the highest levels. This is a destination within a destination city!
Be the first to ReplyPure Manhattan Luxury
Fantastic, luxurious experience at the Ritz Nomad. We had a room on the 26th Floor with an amazing view of Lower Manhattan. The best part of this hotel is the service. The staff to guest ratio is very high and there was always a friendly person to assist. In particular, Ronnie was delightful and very helpful. She even suggested the house car to assist with transportation. The gentlemen at the door were always welcoming. Treat yourself to the tasting menu at Bazaar. It is well worth the money, I can’t wait to return.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolute pinnacle of modern luxury, yet a distant experience
Very expensive, very dimly lit, very posh. Small rooms, yet great bathroom and bed. The Club very much worth it, with great staff and versatile fare, both food and drinks. Yet at 1800 dollars a night everything should be fabolous, right? I was very impressed by it all and that's why I went: the experience what this hotel can offer. Yet, I doubt I would go again, simply because I was not made feel special in any other part or aspect than the club and that you can replicate with plenty of other establishments.
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel!
This place was incredible. The room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and the bathroom was incredible. I'm 5'6" and I was able to lay almost flat in the bathtub. We stayed in a room on a high floor and the view was just amazing. We didn't close the curtains once just so we could see out! I was here on business and we used the meeting rooms and catering and both were also fantastic. The hotel is really beautiful and in a convenient location. Staff was incredibly attentive and kind. Looking forward to staying here again some day!
Be the first to ReplyNew and Vibrant Ritz-Carlton NoMad
I had stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Nomad several times during my short trips to NYC. I definitely enjoyed this hotel location. The rooms are spacious and modern, which I love about the hotel and used it every time I stayed here. At the high floor, the views are amazing. I had drinks at the bar/lounge downstairs on multiple occasions and truly enjoyed it. However, it could be busy on the weekends as NY people did come here for drinks and be seen before they dispersed to other places around town. If you stayed in the hotel, the staff would do their best to accommodates.
Be the first to ReplyHorrendous Front Desk Staff
Having stayed in Ritz hotels all over the world for decades, Barbara at the front desk of this hotel is the single rudest, most thoughtless employee I’ve ever encountered at any Ritz property. Rude, difficult, unable and unwilling to help with even the smallest issue, this person is everything the Ritz brand is not. Three times within the space of an hour I had to take the simplest request to her manager, who was as graceful and helpful as he could be given the obvious fact that Barbara is apparently a constant subject of guest complaints. If for no other reason than to avoid dealing with this oddly unpleasant individual, my family and I will never be back to this hotel. For now, I’ll add my review to the growing list of TripAdvisors complaining about the bizarrely low-quality staff at this otherwise beautiful new property.
Be the first to ReplyNot a real Ritz Carlton yet
This is more like a Ritz Residence without kitchen instead of a real Ritz Carlton. The service was VERY different between staff and staff. Some staffs don’t have good attitude and even a little bit rude. But some staffs were very professional and friendly. They don’t really have a lobby area: they put front desk and concierge into a very small area at the first floor immediately after you get into the hotel, which is not what a 5-star hotel will do. Space are very limited in general including the room. Toothbrush and hair dryer is the very cheap version. The good thing is room is very new and the view is charming. This is the reason why I give 4 out of 5 rating.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service, rude staff
Great location. The worst staff I have ever experienced at a Ritz. Every person we encountered, from check in to the staff at the rooftop bar were rude and not at all welcoming. The roof top bar was empty so we walked in and sat down and they told us we had to leave because we didn't have a reservation. So we sat at the bar and waiting 20 minutes and still were not served. We checked in at 11PM and asked for a 1pm checkout. I am lifetime platinum elite and they couldn't t give me a 1PM checkout. They women at check in didn't even look. I did not experience one nice person who worked there. My daughter's apartment is nearby so i figured this is a good place for my wife and i to stay when we visit her. Very bad decision, back to the St. Regis, where i will say the service is exceptional. I think the Ritz Nomad should be great, nice location, decent amenities, but the staff ruins it. Maybe if they replaced the manager and did better training we would return. This is the first time i ever had a bad experience at a Ritz, which I stay in several nights a year throughout the world quite frequently.
Be the first to ReplyNot the Ritz Standard You'd Expect
It's my 15th Ritz property, and I really look forward to staying at this new flagship hotel in NYC. I had a nice first impression of being greeted by a nice concierge staff. But since then, things started going off track. First, be mindful of the extra-security door in front of the corner rooms like XX11 and XX10. Your room key will not grant you access to those doors, and when we returned to the hotel in the afternoon, we were locked out for almost half an hour until we called the front desk twice, and someone finally came to rescue us... When we returned to the hotel in the evening, we found that there was no shower gel provided in the bathroom; moreover, even though we stayed in an Empire State double-double room, the housekeeping only provided one set of the amenities like dental kits, mouthwash, which is another basic mistake. Furthermore, after taking a shower, we also found that in our room, there was no body lotion... How could this happen?! The next day, I complained about all these matters to the Front Desk instead of receiving a sincere apology and looking for possible compensation solutions; the front desk staff simply said there was nothing about the room upgrade or any other gifts, but the only thing she could do was to ask the housekeeping to deliver the things that are missing to our room. And guess what? They never arrive! Last but not least, I was really shocked that in such a hotel with such a high BAR rate, there was no clock nor Bluetooth speaker in the room, which is hard to believe...
Be the first to ReplyAvoid, better options with better service
Avoid. Currently sitting in the lobby as an ambassador member checking in for a 7 day stay and the only word I have heard so far is "NO". (highest level of membership you can have with Ritz-Carlton) My bags were not offered to be taken they are sitting with me at the lobby restaurant. I emailed in and messaged in my check in time a week in advance, and am being told no you will be waiting until 4pm to check in. Completely ruining a full day. I would go workout but my bags are with me, not even sure if they would hold the luggage. I asked since I am waiting can you at least reserve a room upgrade for me as an ambassador member. The answer again was not a maybe or we will see over the next 8 hours of waiting it was a "NO". I have stayed in the Aman and Four Seasons here which are all better options from what I have seen so far. At those hotels they "make it happen" and thats why we pay the money we do for these hotels, because they make it happen. Not this one, really sad was looking forward to it.

Beautiful new hotel with excellent views. The concierge, Joy, was so kind and played a large role in making our experience as special as it was. The rooftop bar is highly recommend visiting even if you are not staying on property.
Be the first to ReplyFANTASTIC
My son and I stayed three nights during the Big East Tournament. From check-in through the entire stay, we could not have asked for a more pleasant visit! The hotel is still new, but we encountered no kinks that need to be addressed. Every staff member was what you would expect. The Club Room is the way to go. We look forward to our next stay!

My mother travelled for our annual mother/daughter trip. From start to finish we had a fabulous time. The hotel is new and is decorated so well with flowers since it’s in the flower district. Right away the bellman was so helpful and kind, Derek and Luis were top notch!!! Their greeting in the morning and evening was so uplifting. Then at the front desk, Paulina took such good care of us; no request was too much!!! She ensured we had a great room with a view. The room is really nice and is decorated with a interior design eye. Enjoy the stream shower!!! We also visited the rooftop, a must do on your trip. The view, drinks, food, and service are top notch. Just make a reservation. Cannot wait until we return again!!! Thanks again, Pauline, Derrick, and Luis for making our stay so memorable.
Be the first to ReplyThe Ritz Got It Right!!
The Ritz Carlton has shown that you can have a modern design hotel and still execute the five star service that the Ritz Carlton offers. The rooms were modern, service 5 star, rooftop bar amazing, and the staff wonderful. The Ritz Carlton got it right with this one. One of my new favorite hotels in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding Hotel
Spent an overnight in New York with my daughter at the Ritz NoMad. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the staff were absolutely incredible. Very friendly and extremely accommodating. Had a beautiful room on the 23rd floor with the most beautiful view of the city. Rooms were beautifully decorated (very modern) gorgeous bathrooms, appointed with lots of marble and Diptyque bath products, almost unheard of in the hotel world to have such an upscale bath product. The restaurant was amazing. Beautiful presentation and delicious food. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to someone else and I would most definitely stay again and again. The only snafu I had was at checkout when my bill was incorrect and the checkout clerk assured me she was going to fix it and all me back and I never heard from her. I had to make 3 calls to the hotel to get it fixed. Otherwise, it was truly outstanding.
Be the first to ReplyThe Ritz Carlton Nomad is.....fine?
My spouse and I spent three nights at the Ritz Nomad in December. At check in we were thanked for our Titanium status but quickly told that there were "no suites available". OK...that's fine. We asked about late check out (3pm) on our last day and were told "We don't really follow all of the Marriott programs". OK. We tried to get a drink at the lobby bar....but it wasn't serving guests until later in the day. OK. We asked about a table or reservation for the rooftop restaurant for a pre-theater drink at 5pm for any one of our three nights. "We don't manage reservations but someone from the restaurant will be in the lobby around 4pm". OK. The room was small but nice (Rooms were priced at $1500/night during our stay). We had quite a bit of ice brought up from the in-room dining team and each team member was lovely. Everything else just felt clunky and very un-Ritz like. I don't have crazy expectations for a stay during a peak holiday month....but The St. Regis (old New-York cool) and EDITION hotel on Madison Square Park (warm, well-appointed, relaxed luxe) seem to take much better care of Marriott loyalists (and are in livelier neighborhoods). We were super excited about trying out a new Bonvoy property....and it was fine...but we won't rush back to this one.
Be the first to ReplyPERFECTION
Perfection from beginning to end. Check in was warm and welcoming with Paulina. She promised us a beautiful room with an exquisite view. Both were true! Concierge services with both Joyce and Michael were fantastic and informative. We also had lovely service at the rooftop bar with Frank. All the doormen were very friendly and welcoming as well. Ritz-Carlton top notch service all the way. Our room was lovely and well appointed. Beautiful bathroom. For me it’s all about the Ritz Bed… it didn’t disappoint like a beautiful cloud on the 30th floor overlooking the city. A huge plus, the window opens a bit for fresh air. Room service was prompt, and delicious. This new modern Ritz really knocks it out of the park. Great location, Beautiful hotel, exemplary service. We’ll return. Thank you for the perfect stay.
Be the first to ReplyWeird employee vibe
We thought we’d stop by for a drink at the rooftop bar. Well, a friend and I walked up to the hostesses on the first floor and asked if we could go to the rooftop. She looked us up and down and checked her ipad and said ‘sorry, we’re all booked for the night’. I felt as though our attire or vibe was not to her liking. Then we proceeded to the lobby bar where it took about 15 min to order. Finally a worker came up ( he might have been a manager) and took our order. Then about 2 minutes later a waiter came over to confirm our drink orders. It took another 10 minutes to get our drinks after that. My buddy was super tired from jet lag and closed his eyes a few times. I was chatting with my wife and my buddies wife what he was dozing off and on. The gentleman in the suit came over and asked if he could stay awake otherwise a guard might say something if they see you dozing off. I’m the meantime, all the employees at and around the bar were staring at us making us uncomfortable. So bottom line, we went in to get a drink from another cool roof bar and left feeling judged and irritated. The hotel itself was pretty awesome but the employees shouldn’t make patrons feel as if they do not belong in their bougie rooftop bar or their lobby bar. BTW, I’m a Bonvoy Titanium member and have never felt this awkward in any of the other tons of Marriott Bonvoy hotels that we’ve stayed at.
