The Shed is beyond lovely, tucked away in Notting Hill, with a lot of rustic charm packed into a compact space, and some seriously delicious food. The mushroom puff pastries were so rich and wonderful, perfect to start the meal off with-- and everything else was prepared well. The Shed is a hyperlocal, farm-to-fork menu. Everything seemed thought-through and carefully considered. The partridge tasted SO good, though it was a little hard to handle with fork and butter knife. The staff were also all uniformly excellent. Kind, warm, and unfussy. Would 100% come back again on next London trip!
Be the first to ReplyCute place the menu wasn't the same.
I saw pic of the pork cigars and other great food pics but there wasn't the night we went for dinner... i guess it changes. I was disappointed with the menu of the night we got there... love the atmosphere and the service. I was hoping to try all that food but realized some of the pics are from 3 years ago....Hopefully will try again and try better choices more appealing as before ppl described...

I honestly loved this restaurant! The location is a bit out of the way on a quiet street. You enter through a small arbor-shaped terrace. The interior is not very large but it gives an atmosphere that is cozy, intimate and warm at the same time. Perfect for a relaxed romantic evening or an outing with friends. The staff is super friendly and good advice, because here is great food! The concept is a fully integrated chain with a brother who takes care of the farm, one in the kitchen and another in the restaurant. We are entitled to authentic, tasty local cuisine. The dishes are generous, inventive and beautifully presented. We like in this case this tapas spirit which allows us to flicker from one plate to another. An excellent evening with a group of friends with attentive service.I go back for sure and above all I try their other restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyIt's actually kinda hard to review the Shed.
There are so many awesome things to recommend that i don't know where to begin. Small bites- check. Farm to table - check. Fresh, quality food in a very hip, cool setting- check. Here's the best recommendation of all - my friends didn't want me to post this so we could keep the place our little secret. That says it all.!!

Try the venison cigars! We arrived right when they opened for lunch so there was no wait.

We really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere.

Food was delicious, fresh and creative. Staff was excellent to us. Will definitely return. (Had the chorizo, pulled pork, venison and goat cheese with their Bacchus white.)

Delicious farm to table food, including a selection of wines. I had a baked goat cheese with honey thyme almonds and homemade sourdough bread and cod with mussels with fennel and herbs. Oh, and 2 glasses of the house vineyard rose. Will have to come back to try the chocolate mousse another time.

I stopped by for a late dinner and was sat immediately (my not so secret way to almost always get in). I started with the Britz Spritz which turned out to be quite basic for my taste but I could see it having a place as a refresher on the menu. I started with the collection (all four tasters) with each one hitting a different part of my palette and satisfying my ongoing desire to try more than just one thing. Having a smaller appetite, this British Tapas menu style was perfect for even a single diner but I could see the fun of bringing a group as well. Next I had the goat cheese and the pork cigars. The honey on the goat cheese wasn't as sweet as I was hoping but it was quite delicious and was a welcome contrast to the equally delicious pork cigars. I'm sure it's no coincidence however, I assumed the term cigar was simply to describe the shape and looks of the entree but to my pleasant surprise, they also had dark, smoky undertones of flavor as well. The horseradish flavor was very mild, so don't let it turn you off from trying! The prices were more than reasonable and the staff were patient and friendly; if I am ever in the area again I'll be sure to stop by to try all the others!

True Farm-to-table family-owned neighborhood restaurant with tasting menu and regular menu. Wild game, fowl, fresh seafood, seasonally available. Owners have their own farm, and even a vineyard. Warm county ambiance, kind service, this family really cares about the product they create. Highly recommend.

Dinner was a series of delightful British small plates that was visually and gastronomically satisfying. Wouldn't mind coming back here on my next visit.
