My fiancee and I have reserved a table for two for the NYE (and we were coming from abroad visiting Abu Dhabi for the very first time and we came for the NYE) and with lots of back and forth communication to facilitate the payment the day before the NYE they confirmed the reservation and the payment done . However, we went there on time with all dressed up for the NYE and they did not let us in as our PCR results did not come out yet (We are vaccinated and have done other two Negative PCR) and we were ditched out of the NYE with too late to make any other reservations. They literally ruined our trip and NYE. I understood it is the government policy, so my blame for the management that they have not informed us before we complete the payment and show up to their place. They could have shared the updates with us (as two tourists coming to town who would not know about the local updates issued same day) and said that we require you to have this PCR valid for this long before you come to our place. I completely understand things happens during the pandemic but I have not seen such a very poor customer service. I do not recommend.
You can go to Barfley instead that is right behind it and with the same view on the roof. Staff there were very kind and respectful and they even managed to book a taxi for us returning to the hotel.
Just a note to be fair that Tokyo Grill has refunded us for the payment days later but nothing done to make up our lost NYE or not even an apology!
