Frequent visitor, I love this restaurant!
Here is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The food is delicious, and the ambiance is outstanding. The piano player is the icing on the cake for this restaurant. The maitre d and the servers are accommodating! I moved to Asheville NC, and go there every June and December. Can't wait!

Unfortunately we didn't eat well. As Italians abroad we clearly don't try to find the quality and culinary skills of our country but we have tasted truly terrible pasta. Tortellini and grilled chicken breast acceptable. Maybe it was a bad evening but to be on the safe side we didn't go back.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice surprise
Everyone feasted. There is no pizza, only real Italian dishes. The vongole pasta is delicious. There were 6 of us, each with a different dish and everyone was won over. The small entrance door does not, however, suggest a good restaurant. There were a lot of people, I think that in high season you must make a reservation

We introduced a NYC friend to this restaurant (first time for her, lots of times for us), and they did not disappoint! Carlos is an extremely competent and helpful server, always watching, helping with advice and on top of everything. We enjoyed the Chicken tre funghi, Lasagna, and Salmone, with the tavola to start. All was excellent, well prepared and delicious. Wine prices are very reasonable! Cheese Cake is a treat. Thanks for a fun meal!

Good sized portions. Prompt service. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Carbonara was the best Iโve had in the US. Prices a bit lower than the other Italian restaurants nearby so we were expecting to adjust our expectations. Nice surprise - great food and reasonable prices in NYC!
Be the first to ReplyLovely, relaxed family meal out in NYC on Broadway
Lovely meal out, reserved by our front of house at the hotel we were staying at as having been here before themselves. Yes New York City is expensive but we had a lovely meal out here, only had a main, great service and glad it was chosen for us. One thing I like is to have lovely surroundings, great food and lovely staff . Here we got all 3. Went on a budget so couldn't really afford starters and puddings but what we had was very well made and served.
Be the first to ReplyGood food & serviceโฆ you may need to fight the unfriendly Maitreโd for a decent table!
Unfortunately this is one of those restaurants that offers you the worst table availableโฆ even in January, when the restaurant is less than one third full and the Broadway shows are already underway! Why? I fully understand that at busy times it is necessary to allocate tables but not in this case. Having pushed back and reluctantly been given a nice table, we had a very nice dinner. The service and food were very good, and this could easily become our regular NYC Italian restaurant, but we will pass. The restaurant was even less busy when we left.

What a great spot to try! I'm glad we decided to come. Cute inside we just sat at the bar. To start the martinis are delicious. I had the side of bolognese and it was a perfect amount for me. My fiancรฉ got the vegetable linguine to me it didn't have much flavor but he enjoyed it. The bartender was nice and good service.
Be the first to ReplyA special Italian restaurant
We had dinner in this restaurant trying the Mozzarella in carrozza, a platter of cold cuts and cheeses, raviolipanna and ham and a steak with chips. The Mozzarella in carrozza, perfectly cooked and not greasy, was served with a fantastic accompanying sauce. The steak had an incredible taste, with a crust on the outside and very soft on the inside, a meat of absolute quality. Tortellini that would be the envy of an Italian trattoria. Various quality cured meats and cheeses, served with excellent hot bread. Attentive service, place with perfect temperature and without loud music. Compliments!

Great food at nice location.. need reservations. Sat at bar since we did not have one. Rigatoni Al dente, lasagna perfect! You wonโt be disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for dinner before a show!
Excellent birthday dinner! Service was excellent and very professional. We enjoyed the I Rigatone and the Cabonara. The pasta was perfectly cooked and reminded of Italy. The wait staff gave us time to visit and chat but it was never slow or dragging or rushed.

Excellent experience from start to finish, veal pecata and chicken Fantasia, both were delicious. Dessert- seasonal sorbets.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious early dinner
After a busy day sightseeing, we decided on an early dinner. We arrived at Trattoria Trecolori at 4pm and they welcomed us even though it was between lunch and their dinner service. Waitstaff were great as was the food!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing experience!
I had high expectations from this restaurant given the high ratings on Google but was unpleasantly surprised given our recent visit for dinner. Several things stand out as you enter the restaurant. First is the lack of warmth from the staff. They are in no way rude but lean more towards being functional and impersonal from the hostess who greets you (way inside the restaurant which is an odd placement for a welcome/reception desk) to the serving staff. The second thing to notice the ambience - there's no real aesthetic or charm or even a personality to the place. On top of that it's very loud so if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxed meal, you won't find it here. In terms of food, the menu offers a large variety of items such as pastas, chicken, veal options for main etc. We opted to order their classic - Parmigiana and Fantasia. Both are chicken mains and between the two the Parmigiana turned out to be the better tasting option with a good portion size. However taste wise, it tasted average and run of the mill. The Fantasia had a smaller portion size versus the Parmigiana but wasn't as dry and had a bit of a sauce. Taste wise it was on the sour side and tasted nothing special. I also felt that both dishes didn't use high quality or authentic ingredients. What didn't help was that not even once during the meal did the serving staff stop by our table to ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. And on top of everything, when we asked for the bill, we saw that the restaurant had by default added an 18% gratuity! Given the poor service, average food and the small size of our table, it was unreasonable to add such a hefty tip. I don't mind tipping but it needs to be the diner's choice and should reflect the quality of their experience as they see it. All said and done, this is a restaurant that I would recommend to avoid if you are looking for authentic Italian food and good service.
Be the first to ReplyNot authentic..or good
We went to this restaurant for our final dinner in NYC and we had a good time but only because we were laughing and enjoying critiquing it. We chose this spot because we wanted charcuterie so that is the first thing we ordered. It was not served with any crostini or jam. We should have walked out then. The served plain sliced baguette with little foil wrapped butter.. parchment paper on the cutting board under the meats and cheeses and in the bread bowl. Just not as classy as you would expect for a nice restaurant. My husband ordered a chicken and sausage dish and it was served with literal French fries. Like five guys type French fries. Unfortunately, they were the best thing on his plate though. I ordered chicken piccata- the chicken itself was cooked well and the piccata sauce was fine, but the linguine was undercooked. We didnโt even try dessert.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time ! The Best!!
We selected this restaurant based on everyoneโs comments. This was our first visit and it did not disappoint!! The food, from the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts were amazing !! The wine was good as well !! Although some people may find it a little pricey (but what isnโt in NY) it is so worth the price!! The wait staff were friendly too!! We will definitely go back!!

Fantastic pasta and excellent service. We went around 3pm, after the lunch crowd and before dinner. I noticed that by the end of our meal, the place filled up very quickly. Our pasta dishes were amazing and flavorful. I thought the price was very reasonable for the area and deliciousness. Will come back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and VERY convenient to the theater!
After seeing SIX at the Lena Horne Theater, we had made reservations next door at this restaurant. Can't beat next door for convenience! We had checked out the menu and, frankly, the prices were so reasonable, we wondered if it would be a good meal. First, we found the ambiance quite nice and elegant. After a rousing, loud, fast-paced theater experience, we were ready for quiet and a conversation. It was just perfect. We were seated immediately, and the service all night was great---most attentive. We both were very pleased with our meals. As starters, we had drinks and shared a caprese salad and a platter of clams. For our main meal, I had my favorite, carbonara, and my husband had lasagna. Everything was delicious! In the theater district, this is a good choice!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and a good value
We had a great dinner here ( not going to a show). Very good menu, well made cocktails, delicious food at a good value. We had the clams oreganato, Veal with three mushrooms and gnocci. Desert was a nice chocolate type cake and ice cream. Everything was yummy.
Be the first to ReplyGreat pre-theatre Italian
We had a great time. Great pre- theatre place. Mid-size wine list , well selected. We started with fried calamari which was excellent. Just lightly battered. I had Frutti del bar risotto, others had the salmon, chicken parmigiana. Food was excellent. It was a lively loud place but we could still hear our table. Wait staff was great. Anyone who walked by would get us extra water or other help. We finished with the tiramisu and cheesecake. Everyone loved the tiramisu. Overall, we had a great experience.

The staff was very hospitable and attentive. The atmosphere was really cool and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyDon't miss!
Very good pasta and excellent service with a big smile and lots of humor! Tiramisu was also soo good. Moderate pricing for NYC. Note that 18% tip is included in the bill. However, we tipped extra for the great service.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing!!
Stunning food, excellent staff and a great location. I never really write reviews, but this deserves it, big time! We were a walk in at 9pm on a Sunday. No issues getting seated and the best pasta dish ever. Iโve eaten all over the world and this place is that good! We had seafood on tagliatelle and special ravioli. So so good! Please try, you wonโt be disappointed!
Be the first to ReplySecond visit just as nice as the first!
I had spoken so highly of Trattoria Trecolori to my friend that she insisted we have dinner there when I returned to New York City six weeks after my previous visit. We made our reservation a couple of weeks in advance and chose a 5 pm start time to be sure we would not be late for our 7 pm Broadway show. We are not heavy eaters, so we shared an absolutely delicious Carpaccio Manzo Salad, followed by the striped bass dinner special and a side order of roasted vegetables. Everything was excellent. For dessert, we ordered the sorbet and tiramisu to share. Efficient and friendly service, and the tables are well-spaced. A perfect option for Italian Cuisine in the Theatre District.
