Second time we visited Troubadour and it won't be our last.
John, the owner comes to your table and explains the menu in a very animated and loving way. He's a gorgeous man with a love for food. And that's something you can taste in his food. It is exquisite! The only downside this time was I had two fish bones in my pheasant. When I told the waiter he didn't really make anything of it. A small apology would have been nice. But as I said the food is exquisite so accidents do happen sometime I know. We took the matching wines and I can only say, if you go and eat there, I would strongly advice you to do the same. The wines and food are a match made in heaven.

Just listening to him explain the dishes he prepared for us tonight made me hungry and increased my desire for dinner. We stared with a ceviche of monk fish and octopus. Followed by a cold broccoli and mussel soup. Then wild salmon. As the main dish we had duck breast and the night ended with a wonderful dessert plate. De Troubadour is an amazing culinary experience. I highly recommend it.

As I already visited through my job for lunch I was sure of their quality. We had some issues parking because of a local event. But did not mind walking 10 minutes. Normally 2 when on their parking that they share with a shop. The restaurant is rather off the beaten track. The real plus is the welcomeword and the suggestions by the owner. A pitty that he does not stick around during the entire service. He convinced me to try the marrocan mellon in one of the starters even though I don't like mellon. Was ok but did not really convince. Most courses where super. I do remember the mussel starter, a shrimp soup and the fine veal main course. The dessert, poached pear with red wine ice cream and blue cheese was not really to my taste. The wine we had, Barbera d'Asti was ok but not exceptional. All in all a very nice evening with some really ups and not that much downs.
