Was told the wait would be 15 mins or less.
20 mins passed and I asked for an update. They said another 10 mins so it's okay. Went back again after 15 mins and they said we were literally next in line. Finally, we saw a same size group that came after us, seated before us. I think that finally hit the nail for the group to be seated and the vibe to feel upset. Waitress however was awesome! She was quick, attentive, and did an amazing job. Food was good too.

This was a nice chill place where we were able to get two beers and a plate of really good fries big enough for two and it was only $20. Bonus points for the little side bucket of very delicious tangy BBQ sauce and the great staff.

I was born and raised in the South - grew up on NC style pork bbq and ate bbq in all the surrounding southern states. It needs to be P-O-R-K not beef like Texas. I've been living in Chicago for over a decade and finally discovered this restaurant! Their pork baby back ribs are delicious and fell off the bone. The ribs are not microwaved as one reviewer claimed. You can tell they are baked in an oven. Outside of the South, few ribs are cooked in an outdoor smoker fired by oak wood chips, which is how southerners do it. I'm in love with their Prohibition sauce - has the perfect amount of spicy heat and tangy. They should produce Prohibition sauce and sell it in grocery stores nationwide, but you can buy a bottle here to take home. Now those zesty beans blew my mind!! They're the best dang beans outside of the South that I've ever had. My favorite singer Frank Sinatra (been listening to his music since I was a baby in my crib) knew his ribs because he loved this place. Bartenders were friendly providing great service. I will return soon. Try to go on a weeknight instead as it was packed by 6 pm on a Monday night.

Even got them delivered and they were still delicious. Good selection of bbq sauces. They were so tender, cooked perfectly and fell off the bone. Came quick and tasted great!
Be the first to ReplyBest ribs in town.
Atmosphere. Service. Great family or couple's time out. Been going there for at least 40 years.

As always food and service were both great! Got there early and only took 45 min in and out.
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere and staff.
Skip the microwave ribs. The quality and attention to detail on the food has greatly diminished.

. such a spicial place with a great atmosphere and great cocktails to go with the ribs
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely disappointing.
I lived in Old Town during the 90's this was such a great place. Obviously no longer ordered a half rack and received 3 bones with meat 2 without. Thankfully the baked potato was my entree. Sorry to say this place is overrated. After 25 plus years of being a customer I'm done! My ribs are better at home!
Be the first to ReplyI ordered a full slab of ribs on Uber Eats.
Unfortunately the ribs came totally burnt the restaurant should have never let the order out. I would never eat there food again.

The atmosphere is cool and dive-y - it's one of Chicago's oldest restaurants and has been featured in multiple movies and TV shows. And while you might expect the restaurant to rest on its laurels - no. It's a working restaurant with great food, great service, and great fun. We had the half chicken and the fried fish and both were excellent. Our server was a charmer and the entire staff was great. Highly recommend for great BBQ, casual dining, and Hollywood memories.

Twin anchors has been around so many generations for a reason. The food is delicious, the service is personal, and the vibe is "fun neighborhood hangout spot". They found the magic formula and continue to deliver it. Get there early if you want a table quickly, or do with the rest of the neighborhood does, and hang out at the bar, sample, their great array of craft beers, and strike up a conversation. It's definitely a must-do Chicago experience that never gets old.
Be the first to ReplyTwankers is a Chicago institution.
The vibes are 10/10 with an authentic Chicago / supper club-style dining room. Food-wise, the ribs are what they are known for, and they do not disappoint. The only caveat to what would otherwise be a sterling review is that the prices are fairly outrageous. The ribs are good, but $30 means that you are paying a premium for the brand and the experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat fries lots of great beer all around nice bar.
I did not realize how famous this bar really was, just popped in for a beer while burning some time to pick up my daughter....can you say RIBS holy @#$% !!
Be the first to ReplyWas a fun atmosphere.
The service was good and drinks were great. Ribs were delicious!
Be the first to ReplyDo not skip this Chicago classic.
And when you go keep it, classic start with the Caesar salad excellently executed and leave room to fill your belly with the ribs. Your choice of sauces. All are delicious. I personally prefer the spicy version but if you are one that likes it sweet trust me their sauce can't be beat. And finish the night out with a decadent dessert - None will disappoint. And not to be overlooked the servers will take care of you like family. Promising you'll add this to your regular restaurant circuit if your a local Chicagoan or make it a point to visit next trip to the city if you're a visitor to da'Chi.
Be the first to ReplyClassic old school Chicago place near Old Town.
Ribs were cooked perfectly. Sauce was a little sweet for my taste but good. Device was friendly and prompt.

Very delicious ribs! The fries are also really good! Same with the beans! I ordered takeout, so you sort of expect slightly lower quality compared to when you dine it, but it was still really good!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious.
I split a full rack with boyfriend. We chose baked potato as the side. Coleslaw was amazing and creamy, pickle on the side is a nice addition! We got the "little spicy" sauce per the waiter and was delicious.Come here! Best food we've had this trip ... and we've had some good stuff lately :)ALLERGY:Gluten - I have gluten allergy and server said all sauce, ribs, coleslaw (and pickle) are gluten free. He recommended the baked potato for side due to allergy. Everything was delicious and did not experience any reaction. A good pick for sure!!!
Be the first to ReplyGot the rib / chicken combo.
Ribs were amazing. Sauce was really good. Chicken was dry. Coleslaw delicious.Definitely will go back for ribs.
Be the first to ReplyI've had ribs in different restaurants all over the States
I've had ribs in different restaurants all over the States about 9 million times in my lifetime, since ribs are my favorite meal...that said, the best ribs I've ever had were in my hometown of Chicago, at Twin Anchors on Sedgwick.I like to consider this a locals place...although the secret has been out since forever, so out of towners frequent this cool neighborhood joint as well. This place has a long history and hasn't changed a bit in all the years I've been going there, and that's a good thing. Every single time I've eaten here has been a great experience. One memorable night, I had dinner here with two of my brothers and a few of their fraternity brothers, and we feasted on ribs, beer, cider for me, bread, slaw, creamed spinach, onion rings, baked potato, the works. It all was so freaking good, that I ate the entire full slab all by my little self. The jokes were flying at the table on how a skinny lady like me ate like a pig. lol But it was sooooooooo good, I couldn't contain myself. And yes, we had the decadent chocolate cake for dessert. It was one of the best nights of my life, even though I was so full, I could barely walk out the door.Service was excellent...we had to wait for a table for 6, so we stood at the bar (which is fun and part of the experience) and had drinks, while our mouths were watering, anticipating the succulent rib meat with zesty.Yeah, the zesty...ya gotta try the zesty. Ya like spice? Do the Prohibition.Funny how my Chicago accent comes out when I'm talking about my former home...who am I kidding? Chicago will always be my home.Twin Anchors rules...it should be on everyone's bucket list, and that includes you "out of towners."

I came by Tuesday, and I really had a craving for fish and chips. I did a Google search and found Twin Anchors had a version called a Fish Fry. At first I didn't think it was gonna be enough (as how most cravings usually work). Three nice size pieces of fish and old-school fries with coleslaw and tartar sauce bread and butter. But it was more than enough it was so delicious crunchy flaky and filling, I loved everything about the meal. The exterior and interior has a old school vibe (like Taverns I used to see growing up). Very nostalgic with signed photos of famous people that ate there, which I loved. I received outstanding customer service. The staff was so warm and friendly. I was welcomed back and to try the ribs, and I will! I highly recommend Twin Anchors.
