If you love tapas, Vaca is a great place to enjoy the small plates with others. We were seated outside on the patio to enjoy our dinner al fresco. Starry Night (5/5) - I appreciated that there was a spirit-free cocktail menu since I wasn't in
The food needed more seasoning.
We had the calamari and the piece of calamari were about 8 pieces with 4 peppers. That dish was $20.00. We then had the seafood patella, $61.00. There was barely any rice and the seafood was very sandy. Overpriced for all the food. I am a foodie an

Really great Spanish/tapas option.
Nice mix is vegetarian and meat options, always appreciated. The patatas bravas is one of the best I've had, minus in Spain itself. Fresh flavors. And the servers are always very attentive. Would miss the veggie and paella. Stick with the marisc

I ordered the Paellas Marisco and it was disappointing.
The price I paid I only received several pieces of octopus, several clams and mussels. The rice was dry like it was over cooked and burnt. It was my first time there and I will never go back. I drove all the way from Fresno to enjoy good Spanish food

Paella took 1 hour to come out and it wasn't even crispy!!! Definitely would not recommend. The rice seasoning l and mariscos were good, I felt that the octopi's was very small and hardly noticeable. Canelon de pollo was delicious, but to
Great spot for after or before a show at Segerstrom.
Opens at 5pm but we totally came in at 4:50pm and people were already sat at the bar. Good service and tasty
Amazing restaurant.
I regret not having more pictures. Their variety of tapas and plates is incredible and I love every one of their dishes. Their drinks are amazing too

Good meal (although expensive) but I feel they should be publicly shamed for trying to tack on a random 3% fee to your bill because "doing business in Costa Mesa is expensive". If it's expensive then up your prices vs taking advantage

We came here for our sister's birthday and had such a delicious meal. We sat out in the patio and it was just the perfect setting. The staff were super attentive and friendly. We loved the food. We would definitely come back.
Great menu.
Loved the tapas and want to go back to try more of the menu. We had tapas, salad, shrimp, bikini sandwich and fried potatoes. Main entrée Rib Eye and filet, tasty Brussels sprouts and asparagus. Drinks were ok. We will be back for more.
We had a tapas dinner there before a show.
The patio outside was really nice, the service was good and the food absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

We came to Vaca for date night, and overall it was a great experience. Food Rundown: * Albacora Tataki - 10/10 Absolutely incredible. The flavor was fresh, balanced, and the ponzu + sesame combo was so good. Hands down the best dish of the night.
Negative 5 stars- Sorry to report.
Is our experience an isolated incident? Curious or not, I won't be coming back to test my theory. The waiter made it clear our food would take 45 mins to arrive because guest coming in had a show ti attend--Meaning they had priority. When we s
Came here for my birthday dinner with a few friends.
My experience was okay. I really wanted to like this place but it didn't hit the expectations from what I've seen and read. The staff were friendly but service is slow. We were sat outside and it took awhile to order. I'm well aware
Tapas spot good for pre- show dinners
Tapas spot close to the Sergestrom Theater. Came here for a pre-show dinner at 5pm and made a reservation online in advance. It’s a short walk away from the theater, so it’s a good spot when you’re trying to catch a show. Note that the paella d
Sat at the counter for lunch and ordered a bunch of tapas.
Quick, clean, easy and delicious. The tapas are unique and small so you can have a variety and not get too full.

Their tapas are good but we went here for steaks and its overpriced and over rated. The steak was cold and when I asked to reheat it they just turned it into well done and it was still cold.
How disappointing.
Vaca used to be one of our favorite restaurants in OC but after our recent visit, we won't be returning. The deconstructed pan con tomate was mediocre, the seafood dishes (seabass and scallops) were too salty and didn't have the right flavor especi

Smaller than I expected. They have a parking structure and you can get validation from the restaurant. Service is good here. They are attentive. We ordered some cocktails which were ok. Food here is Spanish style small dishes and it's a-little
A visit to celebrate a birthday.
They will seat you as soon as the entire party arrives. No problem! We'll wait at the bar and start with an Apertivo! That was a fortuitous decision. While we were perusing the cocktails menu, the bartender was busy mixing up a carajillo. I'll take
The services is extremely attentive.
The oxtail was so tender. I loved the artichoke and the Brussel sprouts. The chicken croquettes were not my favorite. The tomato bread was missing something that I was hoping would bring me back to Spain. It's definitely worth a visit to experience s
Starting off the service is to die for.

In my opinion, this was a five star evening.

I only go here once in a while because the menu items are a bit expensive, but when I do go, boy do I like to splurge. I enjoy how some of the menu items change seasonally, but some still remain the same due to their popularity (and rightfully so). I

Really enjoyed the food here.
We shared some apps and had a paella. Only downside is there isn't much on the menu that is on the lighter side. Lots of meats and heavy dishes. That being said, everything we had tasted great.
Tapas are delicious but the paella needs work.
Ambiance here is amazing and the service is excellent. I've come here a handful of times and have learned that in order to get the best experience, stick to the tapas. It's just a bit disappointing that a Spanish restaurant's paella needs work.
This was my favorite restaurant until tonight.
Sadly, it seems the quality of the food and service has gone downhill. We ordered the oyster mushroom appetizer - it was overcooked and tough. Too bad. I brought it up to the waiter and he said that it was supposed to be like that. Then I ordered th
The seafood paella here is out of this world good.
This place is hipster trendy but nice and cozy. Service can get a bit busy but what understandable since this place gets packed. Had my birthday meal here and I absolutely loved everything about it. Highly recommended!
Vaca is a breath of fresh air around Orange County.
They create beautiful, unique sharable dishes. Come and order a bunch and let everyone have a bite of each. Most of their plates are tapas style, so only a few bites, but they are wonderful. There are a few larger dish options but I feel like Vaca

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Vaca Costa Mesa at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Vaca Costa Mesa page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* CoolestCough45, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* CoolestCough45 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to CoolestCough45 for any questions Peter may have as CoolestCough45 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* CoolestCough45 now uses their connections at Vaca Costa Mesa to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If CoolestCough45 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, CoolestCough45 receives the $200 reward which is credited to CoolestCough45's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Vaca Costa Mesa!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
