Both times we visited Wicked Jane, I was astonished by how few patrons were dining with us. This is truly a special tasting menu, in a city filled with tasting menus. I have, both times, been blown away by how thoughtful, balanced, and fun each dish is. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and attentive, and the ambience is simple and comfortable. The menu is ever-changing and engaging. Will be coming back many times over!

Truly this spot is "wicked"!!!! One of the best tasting menus I have ever been to and I cannot wait to come back. Everything was on so point and presented so beautifully. The fluke was my favorite along with their sourdough bread and cow's milk cheese.

The main dining room inside can get noisy when there is a crowd. We chose to sit near the bar and felt that we had the place by ourselves on a week night. Food was solid. The tasting menu might be too small if you have a big appetite. Wine pairing was interesting and made the food taste even better. The price was not crazy.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a culinary hidden gem.
A price fixe menu with deeply thoughtful and inspired wine parings and impeccable service makes this one of New York's most under appreciated restaurants. The setting which at first seems almost too stark (although the dining room chairs are wonderfully snug and plush) provides a blank canvas for creative (without being pretentious) food such as cavier on top of purered califlower resting on miso. Highly suggest experiencing one of the best places in New York's rich food and wine scene.

This place is the best hidden gem located right in the heart of Greenwich village! If you are intimidated by the tasting menu let me tell you that although I eat all food groups I can be picky and my 2 times here there has been not one morsel that I did not love. Every plate has the most exquisite flavors and bites combined- so innovative yet simple and accessible too. You really must come here soon! The nicest people serving you too- go for the wine pairing!
Be the first to ReplyHad dinner on a Friday night as a birthday treat.
The service and food were exceptional, as were the cocktails, including the Velvet Revolver (we didn't do the wine pairings, though the table next to us seemed to be enjoying the wine). Particular favorites from the tasting were the duck, ocean trout with fermented apple ginger, and frozen citrus merengue. We were surprised that the place wasn't busier, so don't sleep on this one.
Be the first to ReplyWe had the most incredible meal here last Thursday evening.
It wascourse after course of incredible dishes (mostly fish)...one better than the next. The portions are great...enough to get a real taste, but not too much to leave you too full. The staff is lovely. Only one us did the wine pairing. We others just got cocktails and our own glasses of wine to enjoy. Can't say enough about how much we loved this place.
Be the first to ReplyBest wine pairing I've had in ages, maybe ever.
Particularly for the price. Classics but each with a fascinating twist, and served a wonderful wealth of information and energy. Food was also lovely, though a smaller volume than some might prefer. The caviar potato add-on is well worth it. I particularly liked the onion soup amuse and the fluke. The duck had an excellent crisp whole remaining moist. Wonderful experience, surprised wine nerds aren't flocking here.
Be the first to ReplyJust wow.
Really innovative and delicious dishes. Was a very memorable experience and would definitely come back again
Be the first to ReplyAmazing tasting menu at what is a bargain for NYC - $95.
And the wine pairing is one of the best we've ever had - definitely worth going for it! And the service was top notch throughout the night. The sommelier is especially friendly and his enthusiasm for wine shows through. We preferred our meal at Wicked Jane to many other higher-priced and more famous restaurants in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyEverything was delicious and delightfully smooth.
Hard to classify, but let's say French (ish) overall, with individual touches with each dish. The first course included a beef tartare which was out of this world, as was the halibut, the third of three fish courses. If that sounds monotonous, it wasn't. The seating layout wasn't at all crowded, but the seating schedules are hard to understand. It's supposed to be organised in 90 min sessions, but people were wandering in at all times. We're definitely going back. By the way the menu is never the same two days running.

We were so lucky we can still try the summer tasting menu last week. Food was so delicious with good service. Every single dish with interesting ingredients combination and taste very good. With just simple food combination, the chef can surprise you in a fun new way. Love this place and we all had a great time.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite places to dine in New York right now.
The food is exceptional. I've had 2 different tasting menus and there was only 1 course I didn't find to be excellent. The dishes are generally creative without being over the top. Interesting flavor and texture combinations deliver in most courses. And the execution is also excellent. Food of this quality often comes with stuffy service and an air of pretension (not to mention a higher price tag) but the service at Wicked Jane is very welcoming and friendly. The Som is wonderful. The one knock is the atmosphere. The front of the room has a bit of an awkward setup and the back main dining room could use some more decor - it's simply textured white walls with light bulbs surrounding a handful of tables with white cloths. The music feels more like an acknowledged necessity rather than any attempt to add to the atmosphere. I wonder if this awkward atmosphere is the reason the place has been relatively empty the past two times I've been in. It's unfortunate because the food and service deserve much more attention than they're seemingly getting. I regularly see restaurants with inferior food at higher prices packed nearly nightly.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a great experience at Wicked Jane.
We came for the affordable tasting menu and we're not disappointed. We splurged on the library paring as well. As expected, each dish was delicate and full of flavors. I'm not usually a cold soup fan but the corn soup was flavorful and creamy. The salmon was soft accented by crisp refreshing cucumber. Our favorite was the halibut. Somehow the leeks and crispy quinoa made every bite better. The staff was informed and attentive and each wine paired well with its course. We will definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome food and wine tasting menu.
We were able to get the standard and library wine tasting and try 9 different wines in total. The Som was very knowledgeable and spent the time explaining the history of each vineyard and wine. It was a great experience.

Came by for dinner with super high expectations as Wicked Jane has a very enticing menu and is featured in the 2021 Michelin Guide! The food itself was actually quite good and the chef definitely has potential. It was truly a bummer that I couldn't try out the full 10 course tasting menu. However, the financial monetary aspect of the dinner was an uncomfortable, deceitful, and cunning experience...After spending the last 5 weeks traveling the world throughout Asia and Europe, leveraging the Michelin guide for dinner almost every evening, Wicked Jane definitely tops the list for an uncomfortable monetary transaction...Made a reservation via Resy 30 days in advance and had to pre-pay for 10 course tasting menu for $125 + tax + gratuity. The full amount was fully processed by the restaurant and on my credit card. The cancellation policy was 48 hours prior to dining for full refund.24 hours prior to dining, received an e-mail with an ultimatum to either take a) their 5 course tasting menu for $78 + $65 or $95 wine pairing or b) cancel for a full refund. This was the first attempt at upselling wine.A couple hours prior to dining, received a text from the restaurant inquiring on receipt of their ultimatum...Upon arrival, I thought it was odd that a restaurant was completely empty on a Saturday evening. The restaurant only ended up with a few tables by the time I was done. ...this should have been a red flag...After being presenting the tasting menu upon arrival, I was presented a wine list as well as inquired if I wanted a full bottle of wine to go with my meal. I found this rather intrusive and disruptive...When I asked for the check at the end of the meal, I was informed that my meal was fully paid for and was given $25 cash as the difference. As I couldn't comprehend how a $161 pre-payment for a $125 tasting menu could equate to a $25 cash difference on a $78 tasting menu, I asked for the breakdown...This is where the storytelling begins as the employee wanted to see where I paid for the tax and service during the reservation process. After showing the employee the confirmation from Resy, the blame game started informing me that was Resy's fault and my options were to process the refund with Resy or take a cash refund...As I opted for the cash refund, there were some backend theatrics that brought the cash delta back to my table... a truly uncomfortable experience, just like buying a car... Now on to the food...Started off with the chilled corn soup and it was quite tasty. There was a nice depth to this and it complemented the warm and humid summer evening. The lightly cooked salmon was merely seared one end and was contrasted with crispy cucumbers. The salt was a touch overpowering though. The cod course was excellent as the cod was perfectly cooked and super flavorful and tender. The leeks and broth complementing this were fantastic. The duck breast was also another phenomenal course as the duck was cooked a perfect medium rare. The carrot puree complemented this perfectly. The frozen citrus meringue was good as it wasn't too sweet. The strawberries were excellent! The curry caramel was also excellent as the mousse had some espresso for a nice kick. The chocolate mousse for dessert was also excellent.Service by the staff was also excellent, changing utensils for each course, and explaining each course as well as checking in during each course.~$100/head after tax and gratuity for dinner.

What a hidden gem!!! Literally my friend who's a local took me here, and I was impressed. The dishes are unique and flavorful, I literally had a duck pâte, and it was amazing. Gave me tartare vibes. The espresso martini was on point, ambience was chic and proper. The staff was very attentive, decor was cozy and intimate. It was nice being there especially in the dining space in the back. We had more duck, a fish, and some lamb I think.. oh I'll totally be back. I even had complimentary dessert. Thank you Chef, I will come for more- definitely recommend for people who have exquisite taste.

I am surprised WJ is not on an Eater list or reviewed by Pete. But I am fine with not competing with the band wagon to enjoy the amazing creations of the chef and the excellent front of the house staff. We have been twice and it keeps on improving. From the first cocktail to the last dessert wine, we were spoiled with the food and service.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good, well prepared, and well presented.
Service was good. Portions were tiny and we were hungry when we left though. Decent ambiance. Just ended up paying almost $200 and then needed to go to Van Leeuwen to fill up.
Be the first to ReplyThis is the most amazing restaurant I've ever been to.
The wait staff were so warm and incredibly knowledgeable. Every dish was beautiful, aromatic, and incredibly tasty. If you want a lovely ambience, the most decadent food, exquisite wine, and the most superb service, this is the place to go. I'd choose this over eleven Madison or per se any day.

Be the first to ReplyCame here on a Saturday with a party of 4.
I love the interior, it felt very sleek and the purple chairs were plush and comfortable. We ordered every item on the menu, and the servers were able to course them out. Settings and silverware were changed after every course. There were two gentlemen who ran the place, and they did it so seamlessly! My favorites were the cauliflower, the skate, and the duck. I also liked that their purees were creamy but not overwhelming. Oh also! The homemade sourdough bread was insanely good.

Absolutely spectacular! You can't go wrong with any of the dishes on this menu. Highly recommend the roasted cauliflower and the duck is to die for. Truly one of the best meals I've had. The service is out of this world. They make every table feel VIP. Ask for their cocktail or wine pairings and you can't go wrong. A truly remarkable experience.
Be the first to ReplyWe came in on a Friday night on a whim.
We were so pleasantly surprised. The food, drinks, wine and service were wonderful and we had an amazing experience. Everything is cooked perfectly and some of the sauces were really wonderful. The cauliflower and the chicken were both absolute standouts, but everything was great! The wine pairing was also such a wonderful addition. We will definitely be back and I would recommend this to anyone!
