Our visit to Charleston was short - as in 1 night and 1 full day - so we had to pick a restaurant that should not be skipped . Thank you Chef Orlando and staff for the warm and gracious atmosphere ,and of course for the creative and delightful dishes that you prepared - each one of them was heavenly!
A Wonderful Experience - Don't Miss It
Dining at Wild Common was the culinary highlight of our trip to Charleston. Having had a very disappointing dinner at Husk, I had few expectations that Wild Common would live up to its hype. I was so wrong! Everything about the evening was outstanding, from the service to the amazing food. They were very solicitous of our (few) dietary restrictions and each course was simply outstanding. Unlike many high end restaurants in Portland, Oregon, where I live, there were no ingredients that one might hesitate to eat (looking at you geoduck). The food presentation was beautiful and we appreciated having the food described by the chef (including the pastry chef for the dessert). The portions were appropriately sized as there were multiple courses, but each taste cried out for more! The server, hostess and the chefs were kind and interesting. And - it was quiet! Screaming to be heard by your companions, like at Husk, was fortunately absent and the six of us could easily converse. All in all, the best dining experience I've had in a very long time
Unique experience
Interesting intimate decor. It felt like a small event space. It was not over crowded, not too loud. It was apparent that they made the decision to curate the Dino f experience so that it felt very personalized. The tasting menu was seafood heavy which was fine with us but I wonder what they would do if one had allergies or simply didn’t like seafood. The nap buns were delicious. The oyster was interesting. The halibut was slightly undercooked but mostly very good. The dessert was delicious. Portions were painfully small, and while I didn’t leave hungry I wouldn’t say I was 100% satisfied. This is definitely an experience worth a try to say you’ve done it. The waitstaff were kind and efficient. We were there for 90min start to finish. I would recommend it for a try but don’t know that I would do it again.

In short: Reasonably priced (although relatively small) tasting menu without add-ons. The bill can quickly add up with supplements and the wine pairing. With food that was good but not extraordinary and instances of disappointing service, our experience fell short of expectations for a restaurant with so many positive reviews. Wild Common is a beautiful venue with a long candlelit corridor with pops of greenery leading you into a high-ceilinged dining room with an open kitchen and interesting local art projecting onto the walls. Our reservation was on Friday, March 8th at 9 pm. We were greeted promptly upon arrival, however, front-of-house appeared stressed and did not come off particularly welcoming. Our table was not ready yet, which was not a problem and we were directed to seats at the bar where we could grab a drink while we waited. We enjoyed watching the chefs work in a focused manner while also getting a preview of the food that would soon be coming our way. At the bar, it was a bit too long before we were greeted and given water. We continued to sit there for 10 minutes and the bartender never came back for our drink order. She stood behind the bar polishing glasses and occasionally interacted with other guests instead. We were eventually seated about 20 minutes after our reservation time. We added the two supplement options (eggs benedict and wagyu) to one of our meals. In total, our dishes included starters (oyster, crab rice, and mushroom dumpling), eggs benedict, beets, halibut, wagyu, quail, and dessert. We also did the wine pairing. The starting snacks were our favorite bites of the meal. All three (oyster, crab rice, and mushroom dumpling) were delicious and unique. The beet dish was earthy and not overpowered by the mole. The eggs benedict consisted of a house-made english muffin, caviar, and hollandaise. This was a tasty and enjoyable dish but in what world are these not delicious when paired together? The remainder of the meal fell flat for us. The halibut was good and well prepared. I enjoyed the beans and morel mushrooms that came with it. The A5 Australian wagyu was delicious and cooked perfectly. It came with asparagus and a potato pave. One issue I had with this course was being served a different potato preparation with my wagyu than what I previously observed plated in the kitchen. If I hadn't seen that in the kitchen earlier or if I received an explanation for the swap, there wouldn't have been a problem. The quail was slightly dry, otherwise an ok course. Overall, these dishes were pretty standard and seemed like they were trying to appeal to the masses. The food was not exciting or interesting and this was our primary problem with the main courses. The flan dessert was good but not memorable. We enjoyed the wine pairings and the sommelier was engaging. He provided interesting information about the winemakers, grapes, and region. Although the portion sizes were appropriate, this was the smallest tasting menu I've ever had in terms of number of courses. I did appreciate leaving the meal not feeling overly full. Our server was nice but seemed inexperienced. We ordered an additional glass of wine at the end of our meal and she brought us the bill without asking if there was anything else she could get us. She also picked up the signed bill before we left the table. It was close to closing time (11:30 pm) with our bill coming around 11:15 pm but her actions seemed like signals to leave. We wanted to leave on schedule with their closing time but did feel slightly rushed, especially with our dinner starting late. We were surprised by our disappointing experience at Wild Common. The attention to detail and service was not on par with the GM having experience at Alinea (dined here in 2022). I would have liked to try more unique main courses from Chef Pagan. This was our most expensive and least favorite restaurant we visited in Charleston.

It is a fixed menu, but the dinner was the best of my life. It wasn't just a dinner, it was an EXPERIENCE. Every course was perfect.
Another incredible experience at Wild Common.
This time, we went for our anniversary and sat at the chef's counter where you can see into the kitchen, which is always a special treat! I highly recommend doing this at least once! They changed the upgrade options slightly to if you want the caviar, it replaces the soup course, which lowers the cost of that upgrade. The soup looked really good to us, so we opted not to do the caviar this time. Had it still been an additional course, we might have said yes, though! Again, all the courses are little strokes of culinary genius that absolutely made my mouth and stomach happy! This time, we opted for the wine pairings and that was a real treat, the sommelier did a wonderful job presenting each wine and when I really enjoyed the dessert wine, the bartender poured me some more! We will absolutely make it a point to come at least once a year, it is such a great treat!
Wonderful tasting menu!
Excellent tasting menu ! This place was very, very well done. Every bite of every course was amazing. The service and presentation are almost, but not quite, up to the Michelin standards of the food. I look forward to my next visit.
Stay away
Booked the restaurant weeks in advance. The day before the reservation, our party unexpectedly increased by one person. I called and spoke to the manager who said they could not accommodate us at any other time that night but would not charge us. WC then charged us $50 per person for a cancellation despite saying they wouldn't. They subsequently have not returned several calls to discuss. A former employee told me that WC has significant front of the house issues which is why they and many other employees have quit. Chez Nous, Southbound, and Husk are much better options.

If your party has the option, I would 100% recommend the chefs counter. It's awesome to watch the chef and staff plate up your meals. The staff is super friendly and the service is amazing. We chose to upgrade and add the eggs Benedict/caviar and it was top notch. I can not recommend this place enough. Perfect dining experience.
My daughter and I spent the weekend in Charleston.
After some research we reserved dinner at Wild Common. Wild Common only offers a tasting menu. The options presented to us was to choose between the fish entree or wagyu special entree. We could then add wine pairings experience or just order from the wine list. Once we told our waiter our selections (1 fish, 1 wagyu and wine pairings) the experience began. Each tasting was delivered descriptively and with so much appreciation for the creative process and then the sommelier came by to educate us on the wine and his love for wine. While we were half prepared for a pretentious experience (I mean look at what I'm describing) ... we found ourselves in a charming comfortable and genuine food lovers' adventure. The environment was simple, the staff fun and humble, and the food and wine were the stars. I highly, highly recommend.
Exceptional food.
I really couldn't believe it. One of us got the upgraded wagyu beef and the other the wine pairing. Yes, it was expensive, but the portions were relatively generous (we were nearly full by the time the entrees were served). The wagyu upgrade came with two thick filet slices that we shared. The wines were so good and appropriately complimentary to the food. We also had a couple of the cocktails -- also great. The atmosphere is nice but maybe just a little bit too much, and while the servers were all good and knowledgeable, it did take a while. Be prepared for a couple hours, which is frankly normal for a tasting menu. But these are just small items. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Wild Common is "that place" that guests will brag about, instagram about, and tell you that you HAVE to go and "experience" it for yourself. Yes, WC is similar to the movie, The Menu, or even Richie's dream job/restaurant in The Bear. Yes, WC is pricey as hell with small portions; we spent $1150 with 4 people. We knew what we were getting into after reading other frustrated Yelpers complaints and researching the tasting menu ahead of time. Before you book, understand that you need to savor each course AND the entire dining experience so you can enjoy WC taking care of you. While we're not huge seafood people, we enjoyed WC's selections and wine pairings. The first three courses come together; we really enjoyed the gazpacho. Our favorite was the dumpling. Yum. Yes, the buttery Maine lobster stole the show and had the perfect (cooked) texture as you can see in the pic. Our friends said that the Wagyu beef substitution was savory, textured, and worth the addition. The chocolate torte was the perfect meal capstone and complemented everything else very well. Where WC excels is that they lack the pretentious vibe other tasting restaurants have. The host was polite and eager to make us happy, Kenny was an attentive and charming server, and the expos were eager to school us on each course. Yes, we actually DO like to learn and eat at the same time. Looking around, some patrons wore t-shirts while others were wearing upscale dining clothes. There was a great dining room energy and you could tell that everyone was curious about the food, into the experience, and excited to be there. While WC isn't a weekly stop, it's a unique option when celebrating a special occasion (in our case a friend's reunion), anniversary, or milestone.

A little hot die to how close you are to the kitchen, but it's worth it. The staff are warm and friendly. The food is insane. The flavors and textures were complex and dynamic. A must go for the foodie in your life.

When we sat down and saw wooden chopsticks you get from your local Chinese take out, it should have been a red flag . Where to begin, I picked this restaurant because it had an attractive tasting menu and good reviews. It was my birthday, and all I have to say is that I was so disappointed. They poorly explained the cost of the tasting menu both by the website and the server. The food did not taste good and it felt very badly executed and lacking in good flavors. The cost of the meal? It was extremely expensive. Charleston has much better choices than this place. Avoid it. Go somewhere that has fresh dishes and ingredients. If the food had been any good, I would not have been upset at the cost of the entire meal.

Food and service were great. We're really glad we splurged and did the chef tasting menu with the wine pairing. Made for a great anniversary dinner.

The adventure of a chef's tasting menu.
The chef's tasting menu is prepared by a James Beard 2021 semi-finalist, Executive Chef Orlando Pagán. Each taste is aesthetically presented and delicious. You might worry that the tastings are small, but you will be delightfully satisfied. It is a fixed menu and has an upscale price to it, but you get what you pay for. Kenny H, our server, was professional and informative. It was a memorable evening.

I cannot say anything more simple, book Wild Common when you come to Charleston, period, exceptional food, presentation, and service.

I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our meal at Wild Common. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was friendly, attentive, and unpretentious. The atmosphere was unfussy and modern. The tasting menu was the perfect combination of interesting, small bites served reasonably close together, and larger courses more spaced out. The wine pairings were also interesting and well suited to the dishes. I paid the same price for a tasting menu at another Charleston restaurant the next day, and it was not even in the same ballpark as Wild Common!! This should be the most sought-after table in town.

My husband I enjoyed the expertly-executed tasting menu here on a Sunday evening as we were passing through Charleston. As some others have pointed out, the number of courses can either be counted as 7 or 4. The meal starts with 3 "quick bites," or canapes. They are each creative, unique, and delicious, but are indeed bite-size: they come out in quick succession and are edible in one or two bites. I think this is a great way to whet your appetite and begin the meal. After the canapes, there is an option to add a caviar course - which we did not do.The pacing slows for the remaining 4 courses, one of which is a delicious yeast roll with the most delightful butter that almost feels like air if I didn't know better! The portion for these courses is larger. Each course is prepared beautifully and with much attention to detail. Each sauce, drizzle, topping, and accompaniment is well thought through and every flavor and texture complements everything else on the plate. This meal will not fill you up like a steak dinner at a steak house with lots of bread and potatoes and a huge piece of meat. However, we left completely satiated and if you are a foodie, you will appreciate this meal over a steak house dinner any day! Kudos to the chef - and the excellent staff as well!

My wife and I came here for a special date night right before Christmas. I'd never heard of the WC before, and my wife made the reservation. We sat at the bar so we could watch the chef prepare the bites / meal. Basic premise of this meal is that you get about 7 plates of bites, from appetizer to entree to dessert. You wouldn't think that would be enough at first, but we left full and happy. Each bite was so amazingly good. The Korean Chicken was my favorite appetizer. We had the option to upgrade a few entrees to fancier dishes, with caviar and such, but we stuck with the basic menu. We also added a couple of cocktails. My first one tasted like egg nog (drank it too fast for a picture) and my second one was an old fashioned. Both were excellent and well made. I've dined at fancy places in Charleston, and this one ranks up there with my favorites. Probably in the top two.

A friend & I went to Charleston for a long weekend and I was put on point for food reservations. Can't even remember where I found Wild Common but it does...not...matter - Lord, this place was good! The food, the staff, the drinks, wine pairings, environment were all just, in a word, fantastic. I'd put Wild Common up with any of my fave Chicago or NY restaurants.It's further away from the hoohah of King street, but I kinda liked that. Would far and away recommend them to anyone looking for a great restaurant in Charleston. It's prix fixe, and while I think someone in an earlier review complained about "food portions", idgi...it's many small plates of beautiful perfection. I mean, it's not a big porterhouse or pile of pasta kind of place (no shade on those places, those types of restaurants have their occasions too!). Wild Common in special in every sense of the word. We left full and happy, and wishing for my next trip to Charleston!

We came for dinner and had the tasting menu composed of 7 courses. All 7 courses were very good, cooked perfectly and flavorful (though I don' think one roll and butter should count as a course, that should come with the dinner), my main complaint was that the portions were very small. We left hungry.The first three courses are one bite each. It starts with one baked oyster, followed by one shrimp dumpling, then one tiny duck taco with mole. The entrees were the lobster (then bread course, one warm roll with butter) and the chicken pave. The pierogi (one per plate) that came with the chicken pave was probably the best bite of the meal. Dessert was a sweet brioche filled with cinnamon apples and topped with vanilla ice cream.Again, all of the food was tasty and I would eat every course again, I just think the portions need to be bigger (maybe double). I would be willing to pay more if they increased their serving size. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a good ambiance.

As with any fine dining restaurant, the food in both flavor and presentation was exquisite, however with a tasting menu it always leaves me wanting more. We opted for the tasting menu without the wine pairing but with the wagyu add on plus a few cocktails which were tremendous. I had some coco puff-infused bourbon while my wife had a cocktail that was like a gin fizz with pomegranate. We sat at the chef counter so the head chef was able to describe everything that we had, plus with the added bonus of talking with the bartender for recommendations and the pastry chef who was delightful. Everything was cooked perfectly, but the lobster dish was probably the stat of the night. It came with a Japanese pancake (made with squash instead of cabbage), curry sauce, and pickled butternut squash and every bite was better than the last. The wagyu was seared and left alone which is exactly what you'd want. If you're looking for an extremely fancy date night than you can't go wrong here!
A superb experience touching all the senses.
It's a beautiful setting with contemporary art projected on a large wall in the dining room, and the open kitchen facing the seats at the bar.Service is exemplary, both friendly and professional, while the food and wines are perfectly paired. A well paced meal, beautiful plates, and very high quality ingredients prepared with skilled technique all contribute to achieve that. The staff is pleasant and very engaged in their craft.A satisfying amount of delicious food along with a very nice selection of wine by the glass makes this a top favorite for any occasion not just special ones.

Wild Common was a standout meal for us during our visit to Charleston. It's in a beautiful space shared with Canon Green and I loved the local artwork on the menus and projected on the large wall. Service was good and truly everything on the tasting menu was thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully executed. The only misstep was a small misunderstanding on the wagyu supplement but they fixed that. At $85 pp, this meal felt more than fair. Can't wait to return!

Great experience at Wild Common - friendly, laid back service and amazing food. Tons of flavor, very rich dishes. I though this was the rare place where the main courses were just as strong as the starters. My only complaints were the wine list was a bit limited in size, and there just wasn't much exciting on it, and the cost was pretty hefty. It's worth it for a special occasion, though, and I'd love to go back.
Amazing!
Savored every bite! Each dish on the tasting menu was unique and delicious. The tasting menu consisted of 7 courses with an additional 2 courses that were optional for an additional cost. From the steamboat creek oyster to the “fig newton” every dish was loaded with amazing flavors. It’s clear the chefs and staff take pride in their work and the restaurant. Wild Common should be number one on everyone’s list of places to eat in Charleston.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Wild Common Charleston to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Wild Common Charleston!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
