Stigma with Asian customer
First thing I want to say this is my favorite steak restaurant at Bethesda. I eat there more than 20 time and I always ask my husband why I didnโt see no Asian customer here when the steak really good. But today Feb 22 at dinner time I got a terrible customer service. And now I need to leave a 0 star review, this is my first time ever to review bad about restaurant but I need to let people know, specially the Asian people like me. I really upset because when I have reservations at 9:00 but I come early and show up at 8:00 to ask them if I can get in early or not I will shopping and come back on time.I come the girl right the front desk she talking with another girl, so I wait they finished the conversation. And then she started to ignore me. the girl at frontdesk donโt even look at me and keep let some people come after me check in. 4 group check in and Then I need to come to talk with the manager about she ignored me. I feel really bad when driving 47 minutes for the dinner and then they made me fell stigmas. because I wearing no dress and every one here just white? With me this just a dinner not a special 5* restaurant to be made like, if I can come here it mean I can pay. How can she treat me like homeless. I eed to cancel the reservation because can not stay there with that treat. And the girl said she a manager just said OK. With no apologies the girl at fron desk made me feel like I go the wrong place, this restaurant not welcome me. Iโm Asian and alway tips 20% and up for the service here all the time. Now I know why the steak is good but no Asian customer here. Because thatโs way they treat me and other customer made me donโt want to come back. You win to made the restaurant with no Asian. Really really STIGMA.

Outstanding food and service. Impeccable attention to detail. The ribs are divine: smoky and tender with no discernible fat. The sushi appetizers are unique and delicious!
Be the first to ReplyPhenomenal Dining Experience!
This is one of my favorite to dine, whether for lunch or dinner for many years. The restaurant is a staple in the community, it has been around many years, and always with consistent service and food. Management is always visible incase needed. On this visit, I had the kale salad, and fried oysters which were served with a wonderful caper sauce and in-house made tartar sauce. The oysters were very fresh and fried to perfection, light and crispy. They were so good, I had two servings, they come 6 for an appetizer. Some of my other favorites are in-house made veggie burger or bbq ribs for entree. I usually sit at the bar, and service there I must say is top notch! The atmosphere is quite relaxing, when seating is not full, in the middle of the day, as it can be quite noisy when crowded. A nice touch, is they have a jazz trio on some evenings. Reservations are highly suggested, unless one would like to dine at the bar.
Be the first to ReplySurprised how disappointing it was
Had high hopes but disappointed for a number of reasons ( some already mentioned by others)- too many rules : no decaf, couldn't swap out or even sell me focaccia bread as an alternative even though they have it as part of bread basket. Food was ok, nothing exceptional. With so many options in bethesda , there's no excuse for the rigid policies of this place. I'm a long time diner in the area and never experienced this before.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food. Staff has sticks up their rear.
All of the staff is stuck up and up tight. They are rude to customers whether they are ordering a drink, food or even asking a question. These people need to relax a little bit. Itโs hard to enjoy yourself.
Be the first to Replytoo many rules
This restaurant has so many rules, it's difficult to have an enjoyable lunch. They limit the amount of time you can stay; our waitress must have thought we were overstaying our welcome as she brought the check with our desserts (although there were plenty of available tables. They have no de-caffeinated coffee. The waitress never smiled and was actually fairly sullen. The food was very good, but overall not a good experience for a business lunch.

Rude and arrogant manager Nicole Hurst who treat customers like garbage and brought our child to tears. Will never eat here again

Order Hawaiian Steak came back all fat very little meat.Sent back steak and order ribs no meat on ribs.Have not visited this restaurant for years and wonโt be going back.
Be the first to ReplyNot what it used to be
Woodmont Grill Before Covid Hit : Woodmont Grill served a Great Hamburger with Monster Baked Potato in lieu french fries (if you chose). The meat used to fill the whole bun (at least 8 oz). Ribeye dinner cost around $39 NOW: Woodmont Grill has reduced the size of the Beef patty, omitted the lovely lettuce and Omitted the GREAT BAKED POTATO!!! Moreover, my friend ordered a $49 Ribeye and the French Fries were UNDERCOOKED. Other NEW IRRITATING things are: Woodmont grill no longer accepts cash (which i guess is understandable, not) Woodmont grill NOW states that they have the right to "ask" you to leave the restaurant After you finish your meal !!!!!! so that other people may have the Woodmont experience. Omit the Sushi Bring back a Baked Potato so my Colon is healthy. Thank You
Be the first to ReplyGreat evening in Bethesda
Very nice dinner at Woodmont Grill. Sat at the bar, Jordan took great care of us. Nice cocktails. Salad was quite tasty. Rockfish seafood special was great. Will definitely be back when weโre in Bethesda
Be the first to ReplyGo downtown or pike & rose instead
For Bethesdaโs best restaurant they produce a product that is mind numbingly boring and indifferent to providing anything other than exactly what they want to provide, and when they want to provide it. No variation on a menu that really hasnโt changed in years. My wife and I have a drinking game asking what the fish special of the day is. Artic char. Always At 930 they lock the door. No one allowed in for a drink or a later night bite. Donโt need The business. Tonight they told me they donโt ever provide decaf coffee. Ever. And no espresso coffee. Too much work. Next time Iโm going to Pike & Rose where I do find a more enthusiastic restaurateur. Or downtown.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent all-around dining experience
What a lovely place to dine! Our table of four ordered a variety of appetizers including sushi and all were delicious and beautifully presented. Our mains were likewise well-seasoned and tasty. Service was above average.
Be the first to ReplyBethesda's Best "Late Night" Dining
Bethesda, MD is a place where the sidewalks roll up by 10 p.m. It can be hard to find anything decent to eat after 9 p.m. when most kitchens close. Fortunately, there's Woodmont Grill, which has been a neighborhood staple for decades. We just stopped in for a bite to eat around 9:30 p.m., and Ynez, our server, could not have been more gracious. Of course, entrees are pricey, but we kept the bill somewhat reasonable with a smattering of appetizers. Their olives are simply divine!

year 2022, after a pandemic, on the verge of economic recession and a restaurant does not accommodate parties of 5 or more? Wow awesome!!!
Be the first to ReplySee and be seen in Bethesda
This seems one of the places to see and be seen in Central Bethesdaโฆ On Woodmont very close to the Bethesda arts and restaurant District, it helps to have a reservation to get in here, although there is an outdoor covered terrace for sitting and drinking and people-watching while you wait for your table to be ready. Inside, there are many people eating drinking and gathering at the bar which has more than just the typical bar counter for service but also has a whole parallel counter for stand-up overflow and drinking. The dining room is known for live music a few days a week, with a big wide open kitchen, but the whole restaurant is very dark, with dark wood. It feels very much like a Gentlemans club. When you make a reservation they send you a note reminding you that they have a dress code but I felt that people were dressed far more casually than the dress code would prefer people be dressed. The menu surprised me as being more pub-like than anything, however i had expected fine restaurant or steakhouse from the ratings and write-ups the but, as I say, the atmosphere felt like it should be a fine restaurant or a steakhouse and a little more formal in the menu. Having said that we had very delicious dinnersโฆ the presentation of my tuna tartare was absolutely gorgeous as was the taste and texture. Itโs not inexpensive but we will go back since we have to be in Bethesda fairly regular basis
Be the first to ReplyBad service
Upon our arrival we were โgreetedโ by the hostess and told about all the rules. Two tables of four cannot sit next to each other for example. The wait staff had to be reminded to bring things over and over. At the end of the meal the manager popped by and we told her that we were not happy the response was โoh wellโ. Will NOT go back!
Be the first to ReplyThe whole meal was really good
Wife and I had dinner here before seeing a show at BB&J down the street. Thank God we had a reservation, because there was quite a wait to get in, but we were seated right away. For a drink and appetizer I had an Old Fashion and we had the junior shrimps. The shrimps were quite large and really good with the two dips that came along with them. For the entrรฉe I had the ribs and fries. I almost ate all of the fries before tasting the ribs because they were that good. The ribs were fall off the bones good, great sauce and seasoning. My wife had the salmon and she really enjoy the tast and the accompanying sauce. The bill was a little pricey, but we really enjoyed our whole meals
Be the first to ReplyNot as advertised on their website
My husband made a reservation for our anniversary, based on info on the website: "We prefer to host experiences based on smaller, more intimate parties of two, and limit parties larger than that. We consider hats, tank tops, flip flops, and team athletic attire too casual for our restaurant. Our restaurants are generally not the best environment for young children." Looking forward to a sophisticated, intimate, fairly quiet experience, we were quite disappointed to find there were kids, people dressed in tank tops/casual attire and the place was mobbed. It's a huge open space and tables are tight together so it's very noisy. Our waitress apologized for having to yell to be heard. It was an upscale, big TGIF's/PF Chang's. They knew it was an anniversary dinner and we were seated at a puny "booth" for two. We are small and we barely fit. Surrounded by loud tables quite close together; one with a loud wandering kid. It may be a great restaurant for the tourist and family crowd (big hotels all around it now), but the website needs to be honest about dress code, kids, "noise level", and the ambience of the experience. Not the place for an intimate, romantic anniversary dinner.
Be the first to ReplyWhen in DC, try the ribs
Ok I'm a bit of a fanatic when it comes to the Hillstone Family of Restaurants. When I travel, I look to see if one is there. The Woodmont Grill is a must for me when I'm in DC. Its just a short ride up the redline Metro and then a couple of blocks to culinary nirvana.
The ribs. OMG, the ribs. Fall off the bone tender. I'm beginning to salivate as I write this. The screwdrivers are made with freshly squeezed orange juice. And for dessert, the apple cobbler.
Dear reader, if you go you will not be disappointed and will be treated well.
My only compliant about this location, what's with the "we don't have decaf coffee." Huh? Oh, and you have French fries but don't have baked potatoes?
Over priced , the good items missing now
Prices are way too high . They donโt give you ice water and the old salad is missing with all the ingredients. Really not happy

Visiting in DC and met up with old friend for lunch to catch up on our families. We split a starter of grilled artichokes w a remoulade sauce, excellent. My friend had the French dip and I had the baked salmon. Both were very good. When we started, my friend asked about French Sancerre, but Nicole said they were out of that one, but not on the list there was another. Great wine and went very well w the salmon. But, my friend complained that the French dip required a red. Nicole recommended a Zinfandel. Superb wine. And we finished the meal by splitting the cheese cake.
My only complaint would be that the area is too dark. A little more light would have been welcome.
The menu offered a different sushi dishes, some sounded very 8nteresting, but I was not in the mood for sushi, then starters and entrees.
Amazing meal
The hillstone group always delivers. Period hard stop.

The Veggie Burger
I specifically came back here for their veggie burger. I remember it being succulent, flavorful, & meaty. However, after 5-6 year from last coming here, I guess things changed. The veggie burger is still good, but not as great as I remember it. Hubby ordered the Hawaiian ribeye which was juicy, well cooked, and yummy. It had flavors different from your normal steak. Their guacamole, which was released today, was pretty good (especially the chips that came with it). Jordan, our waiter, was pretty awesome, friendly, and always had a smile on his face. Would probably come here again on a different occasion in hopes of bringing back my memory of that awesome veggie burger.

As an avid Houston's fan, I was excited to visit the Woodmont Grill. I find that the Hillstone properties across the US do an excellent job at creating a memorable dining experience. The Woodmont Grill property overall did not disappoint. However, I was really hoping to tuck into a prime rib dinner that is a common offering to the HIllstone Restaurant Group in my experience. The Woodmont Grill did not offer it. I was disappointed. That being said, the roasted chicken sufficed.
If I'm in the DMV area, I might make another trip to the Woodmont Grill, but only for nostalgic reasons.
worst experience ever at this restaurant. Will not go back until changes are made
We called in for a reservation. The manager mr Mccolbert Eurvard told us to " come on in." We assumed there was no wait. upon arrival at 6:30pm, the egotistical manager said we have to wait. We got seated at 7:45.
Ordered our favorite caesar salads and they came drenched in dressing. not a big deal.
ordered four steak and wanted medium cooked. The steaks came well done so we sent them back. The chef came out and both the chef and the wait staff were very apologetic about the screw up. So at 9:20 we got four new steaks, except they were medium rare.
once again the chef and the waitresses agreed that it was not medium.
The egotistical manager comes and says what do you want us to do? I said nothing, just get my order right.
He comes back few minutes later and says since we cant make you happy, we will comp the meal, but your are not to come back here again!!
WTF IS THAT!! FIRST THEY AGREE THEY MESSED UP YOUR ORDER, THEN THE JERK IN CHARGE TELLS US WERE NOT WELCOME BACK!?
My wife contacted the restaurant the next day and they said the are sticking with the managers decision.
WE WILL NEVER GO BACL UNTIL THIS JERK IN THE FRONT GETS RELIEVED OF HIS DUTY.
WORST EXPERIENCE AT A RESTUARANT EVER!!!
