Lovely Letterkenny Gem!
We dined here for my birthday after a family recommendation whilst we visited Letterkenny as the Lemon Tree was closed. The food was incredible! They had a lovely selection of non alcoholic cocktails (I would recommend the Bramble) My partner enjoyed the local Donegal IPAS & Stouts. We wanted to order the Mulroy Bay Mussels but they had unfortunately just sold out which was disappointing considering we had a 7pm table. Very romantic dimly lit decor although my partner said it was “almost too dark” Was very busy which I always think is a great sign! We didn’t book thinking Thursday evening wouldn’t be an issue and they seated us straightaway. Thankfully! Lovely little gem and the food was 10/10. Oh and 100% get the Sticky Toffee Pudding - it was the best we’ve EVER had

A real mixed bag. Some meals were lovely and tasty (curry, goats cheese l) but the chicken salad was one of the worst I’ve ever had. Chicken felt reheated. Dry and a bit tough with a few herbs sprinkled. The “salad” was 99% leaves so bland and tasteless. Also presented in this long boat shaped dish. V disappointing. Our server was lovely though. In summary don’t order the salad - order something with more flavour.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly service, good value, great seafood and good atmosphere
A lovely resturant, great service atmosphere, would go back again. The seafood platter, chips and apple crumble were highlights for us.
Be the first to ReplyTasty food - excellent friendly service
Ate here on St Patrick's evening, the place was busy but staff were very attentive and friendly. We shared mussels to start, and then a steak and a burger. All were tasty and cooked well. There are so many different places to eat in Letterkenny but would definitely recommend this one

Lovely food service like a chip shop get in get out staff running around the restaurant dropping plates on the table and very noisy
Be the first to ReplyWell Worth a Visit
Busy restaurant on the mian street. Probably the only one you would call an actual restaurant as the rest are either hotel bar/resturants or Gastro pubs. Food was lovely and nicely portioned. Most Staff were friendly. They did lose our booking but fit us in anyway when we arrived. Prices were pretty normal, maybe slightly higher than average.
Be the first to ReplyOverrated & overpriced
New Year's Eve meal was mediocre. Charred broccoli couldn't be cut, either cook a little longer or sharpen your knives! Tables far too close. No atmosphere even though it was NYE - no effort made by owners. On a positive lovely male waiter, very friendly & attentive. In general its an overrated & overpriced restaurant/cafe.

I went to the yellow pepper to celebrate my brothers birthday. The food was outstanding. The scallop starter was both beautifully presented and delicious. We all had the seafood platter which was unreal. The haddock tempura, squid, mussels. Chowder and macheral was fab. The waiting staff were very attentive. I couldn't recommend them more. If you want great food this is the best place in letterkenny.
Be the first to ReplyBest restaurant in Letterkenny area
As usual and for the past 20 years, the Yellow Pepper is unprecedented in the area. I am from Holland and own a house near Downings, we went to the YP quite often. The kuds grew up and left house but when in Ireland it hasn’t been a good trip if we did not eat at YP. Knowing the owners for 20 years now they never allowed any infringement on the quality of their food, their friendly and good service. I therefor do not understand the bad comments on service, other than if you are rude to them they give you a straight, honest but polite Irsh reply….. I recommend everybody to eat at YP.
Be the first to ReplyNight spent vomiting on the toilet after visit
Normally go here alot and have never had any issues but the family paid the annual Christmas visit lastnight and 3 of us from separate households have ended up up all night with terrible sick stomachs, 1 had lamb and the others chicken salad. The service from the kitchen wasn't great as parts of the party received their meals well in advance of others and sides did not arrive until about 5 mins after the main. The place was busy but I've been here on much busier nights and experienced fabulous service. 2 of us are coeliac and are fairly certain the meal contained gluten as we were both so ill. 2 deserts also failed to arrive until asked again when everyone had finished their deserts. Waiting staff were lovely and apologetic but some serious kitchen issues. I don't know if the chef has changed but I would not be back again in a hurry after the night we've had! Really disappointing!

Be the first to ReplyExcellent for casual night out
We were in for my fathers retirement/birthday dinner. Excellent atmosphere and the food was fantastic.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and choice
The food was excellent but rushed. We had barely got the menu when the server was looking to take our order and there was no pause between courses. Despite this food and wine were excellent
Be the first to ReplyOpening hours
Trip Adviser info on opening hours is wrong. This restaurant opens from 15.00 and 1.00 on Saturdays. It says open from 12.00 noon but that is incorrect.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful food, very kind and considerate staff
Highly recommended, beautiful food. I had their fish and chips, fish cooked i a very light v Batter. My wife had Minute steak. All good served with deliciously fresh salad and the mango cream with the spicy chicken for starters was a dream. Great value too, we had a glass of wine and a beer with 2 courses all for €57.
Be the first to ReplyTime is limited
Very good restaurant, however the time allowed to customers can be too limited to fully enjoy an evening where we were slowed just 90 minutes for a sitting for 3 course meal and a bottle of expensive wine
Be the first to ReplyVery Good
Very dependable restaurant that always serves great food and never disappoints. Always a great atmosphere - was there early evening and even at that time, the place was buzzing. Beautiful decor and lighting.
Be the first to ReplyLetterkenny’s finest value restaurant serving delicious food and great attention to detail.
Excellent post xmas family meal. Really extensive well thought out menu including a value menu which had a very wide choice to suit all tastes. In particular it is worth mentioning their many gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. provenance of food is important to chef as is the extensive local drinks options including Donegal gins. Presentation of food was top class and portion sizes good. Service was excellent and very friendly and attentive. We will be back. Highly highly recommended.

Visited recently, the food was to die for. Garlic Mushrooms were amazing, Stroganoff was tender and the Sirloin Steak melted like butter! Beautiful!
