Haven't heard very good things about this place, but my friend wanted to check out... and... it was surprisingly good! The lobster pasta was A+++, and I really liked the lemony desert also. Would totally come back again. Also really spacious restaurant with nice view (though you prob won't end up sitting by window unless you ask I think).

My company took us out for dinner at this spot the first night after a workshop. It was a selected menu for us, so we were limited in what we could order. Suffice it to say, I wasn't completely blown away by the offerings and the food was just ok. Not bad, but not great. The location is fantastic however, and the restaurant is up on a high floor (46th, I believe). There is a great outdoor bar / patio area that has an unbeatable view of the marina area. This was a plus for this location, as it was a great spot for after dinner drinks and just getting a lay of the land and the surroundings. I went in with very high expectations and while the location is fantastic, I expected more from a culinary perspective. Perhaps things would have been different if I wasn't in a large group and could have ordered off the menu, but my experience is what it was.
Be the first to ReplyGreat view over the CBD.
The food, while good, is less creative or exquisite than some other Italians nearby, like Osteria Arte or Braci. Good-value set lunch.

Horrendous! Never dine here!!! Food below average, tiny portions and way overpriced. Service slow. Dinner took 3 hours. Staff were rushing around and complaining to us about the demands they were under in an empty restaurant. Much more to say, but overall save yourself the hassle and expense and AVOID!!

This is my first time in the restaurant, though I had met the restaurant manager Paulo in a previous wine dinner at Robuchon. The restaurant ambience is nice but not especially elegant. Nonetheless service by Bala was attentive and very good. We had a special menu, not all is available on a regular basis. The first course, a wagyu beef carpaccio was excellent, made special by the addition of castelmagno cheese from Piedmont. The pan seared pigeon was special, perfectly seared rare with vanilla reduction which produced an incredible aroma. Tender and flavorful. This pared perfectly with the 2011 Cruanza which has a very strong caramel and vanilla overtone. Then we had the carnaroli Saffron risotto, unusually with a pork sausage ragout with toasted rosemary, paired with the Resalte 2010 reserve, a 93 rank wine spectator. What a wine. Elegant, smooth and creamy. Notes of vanilla, burnt caramel and cassis. Full bodied and almost jammy. The risotto was cooked el dente. Perfect. The final dish, a Sous vide rack of lamb, then roasted. Paired with a limited edition grand Resalte 2009, a 90 point Robert Parker. Just like the previous wines, notes of vanilla and caramel. Intense and full bodied, silky smooth and mellow. Exceptionally balanced and complex. Perfect pairing for the dish which was perfectly done, rare and super tender with an intense syrupy jus. The meal finished with a mascarpone valrhona chocolate mousse, a little sweet for my taste although my wife and daughter were fine with it. Overall an excellent dinner. We took a look at the regular menu. A limited selection but based on the meal tonight I have no doubt that it will be well prepared. Prices are reasonable and value for what you get. I recommend this restaurant and will be back for more.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great atmosphere.
Best spot in town! The service is excellent, the view is beautiful and the food is really good! would definitely come again!
Be the first to ReplyHands down the best roof top restaurant in Singapore.
The menu, the service and the atmosphere are world class. Unlike many touristic spots, this restaurants offers authentic Italian food and top quality service. A real gem, kept secret by those in the know how.
Be the first to ReplyI'm going to post this out first.
There was only one negative to this place. The air conditioning was FREEZING. While they were prepared for this and had a shawl for my partner they really need to turn it down. PLEASE READ ON THOUGH...As soon as I walked in the door to Zafferano the service was outstanding! Our waiter was very friendly with an great sense of humour. There was no pretentious feeling that comes with some fine dining restaurants. The food you ask....Well the food was unreal. I had the ravioli which melted as soon as it touched my mouth. I never knew pasta could be so soft and then exploded with flavours. Then the Pork Belly which equally melts in my mouth. I didn't know Pork could be cooked so well. Lastly the Lava Chocolate Cake. In my experience these can be ultra rich and hard to eat. But of course not at Zafferanos'. It was just right! Thanks to Zafferano for a great night.

Failed to deliver on many levels - definitely not worth the price! My husband and i came here for a lunch at around 1pm on a weekday, as a break from work.I had the business lunch as follows:-1. Tomato Mozzarella Salad with Basil - bland, dry and absolutely tasteless until I drowned it in balsamic vinegar that was at the table!2. Spinach and ricotta manicotti type dish - rolled up stuffed pasta tubes - also very bland, and no one even offered me parmesan cheese, which we saw sitting on the counter when we walked out.My husband had the a la carte menu as follows:-1. Tomato and Burratta salad - tastier than my mozzarella salad;2. fettuccine with mushroom and black truffle - this dish was basically like eating raw truffles - they put SO much into the sauce and even shaved more on top, that you only got one ridiculously strong taste of truffles, it was so overpowering and not pleasant!3. Beef short rib cubes - bland and tasteless (again, need to be drowned in vinegar perhaps?!), not to mention quite a contrast from the overpowering fettuccine, and the meat tasted like it was boiled and then slapped on the plate! In addition to the food being sub-par, the service was super slow and inattentive, despite them not being busy at all. It took ages to get a glass of wine, bread, or to even get someone's attention to ask for anything. In the end, the prices are absolutely ridiculous for the shoddy service and very below-average food - surprising this place is still in business in such a high-end office building!

Was there for a wine event and they dished out complimentary $50 vouchers so I was back there again for dinner... Food is good (especially their lobster bisque and risottos). They have a good wine list too! However, what is truly excellent is their wine service from their in house sommelier (yes, this is for you wine aficionados who need your glasses changed depending whether you have a big burgundy red, or a more subtle Pinot. And they would also gladly decant your reds / filter your whites as need be). best of all, they have free cockage on weekends - at 1 bottle for every 2 pax. So if you have treasured bottle(s) to share with dear friends over a dinner on a Saturday, do consider them!
