Deserve two stars

We had dinner at the chef's table in the kitchen and it was wonderful! From amuse-bouches to the last dessert everything was perfect. The tastes are both frank and complex. The wine list is well thought out and champagne lovers will not be disappointed! Little touches in the glasses and on the plate, a visit to the cellar... what an incredible moment!

Minor improvements to the following dishes -Less salt in the dish with the pumpkin and shrimps and more cooking in the shrimps of the same dish -The plate with the bonito would be better removed Otherwise, delicious dishes that satisfy sensitive palates and demanding taste buds Staff courteous and willing to serve any requirement Chef Bottrini went through all the tables and greeted everyone one by one as a consummate professional with a guarantee of success...a role model for budding chefs

It is the 4th Michelin-starred restaurant in Greece that I have visited and I rank it 4th in preference. I will start with the dishes that I thought were excellent and these were the wild mushroom macaron, the smoked eel with fava beans, the herring and the pappardelle with duck and cocoa truffle. I would characterize the rest of the dishes as indifferent, just as the interior of the restaurant is indifferent.

We visited the restaurant as part of Dine Athens. The overall experience was good, but nothing special. The menu consisted of several dishes, with many different ingredients and flavors. Some of them were particularly tasty, but there were also 2-3 indifferent, almost bad dishes, especially the bonito dish. The place is nothing special, since we sat inside, but the outside courtyard looked interesting. The service was good, although not all at the same level. One of the main waitresses who served us was obviously in a bad mood, she forgot what was in the dish when she offered it to us, and she was pushy when we didn't eat the bonito dish.

It was one of the best experiences we've had in a restaurant of this level!!! Well done to the whole team...and especially to Frederica for the way she explains the stages of the tasting. From start to finish, it was a journey of flavors and aromas. I highly recommend it...

Outstanding! Visited as part of the DineAthens promo by Alpha Bank … therefore also superb value-for-money for the tasting experience of this adjusted menu. The extra add-on wine pairing was sky-rocketing the experience. Of course some of the dishes were from a different galaxy and some were mediocre only in comparison. I am struggling to spot something negative. Perhaps only that the not included papardele pasta with duck ragu didn’t justify the hype, but still was nice. Impeccable service, friendly, efficient, genuinely caring without being overattentive. All in all a MUST visit for a delightful experience.

Excellent food and super helpful and charming head waitress and sommelier. We took the 12 course menu at €90 (you can have 14 courses for a higher price). Many courses are very small so it’s manageable. From the first small course (macaroon with wild mushrooms) the food was first rate and surely worthy of a second Michelin star. The only slight adverse comment is that we found the pappardelle with duck and truffle slightly salty for our taste. We sat in the open air covered area (at night) which is lovely. Other options: outside uncovered or inside.

The 14 course tasting menu was superb with an esthetic presentation. The matching wine pairing was unusual and well conceived. The garden setting and friendly staff made for a lovely evening.

I have decided to give Botrini a second chance. However, this review is honest and serve as a reminder even a Michelin star restaurant can face issues.
Saturday June 19 started out great. We managed to book a table at Botrini the same day and was welcomed to a full restaurant. The tables are beautifully situated in the outdoor garden secluded by park like vegetation. There were a few bugs flying around, which must be accepted given the fact you are dining in the "garden".
We quickly came to realize the restaurant had either a lack of staff this day or had reached the maximum capacity. The service was excellent in terms of professionalism but there were a few hicups that made an impact on our overall impression.
The wine we ordered came only after the third dish after several requests to get the wine served. The waitress managed to pour wine from the neighbouring table to our glasses at one time. The glasses were not refilled for water nor wine until I took matters in my own hands, litterarily.
In the end the hostess apologized for the somewhat chaotic service and the mistakes that were made (pouring wrong wine) and offered a compensation in form of an adittional dessert and dessert wine.
I do hope, and it seems like from other reviews, we were just unlucky with the staff being overworked that evening. This being said, the food was great and I would like to come back in order to get a second opinion on the overall experience.
